Fragrance Focus: Maison Francis Kurkdjian Baccarat Rouge 540 + Tom Ford S/S16 Newness

The memory is clear: I first encountered the resplendent Maison Francis Kurkdjian Baccarat Rouge 540 while in New York late last year.  Only an early-release tester was available, but one spritz and I knew I was destined to add this sui generis scent to my collection! Fast forward nearly three months and I am happy to say that I continue to reach MFK Baccarat Rouge 540 constantly…unique and lingering, Francis Kurkdjian (also featured HERE) has created yet another masterpiece.
Kindly scroll on for more details, images and a Tom Ford Spring/Summer 16-centric beauty look as well as  the Bottom Line…
From the moment I experienced the essence of Maison Francis Kurkdjian Baccarat Rouge 540, I was captivated; that being stated, I couldn’t exactly determine what it was I was smelling.  The lush notes work together to create a complex woodsy element that lilts with a rich sweetness that isn’t cloying (the ambergris and saffron, I suspect).
I envision it translating well year round (I’ve worn in on warm and cool days with equal satisfaction) and even though it isn’t heavy in nature, the lasting power is magnificent.  If you are on the hunt for a truly singular scent with incredible appeal, I urge you to try this triumph from MFK!
Official details, courtesy of Neiman Marcus:

Baccarat Rouge 540, an eau de parfum born from the encounter between Maison Francis Kurkdjian and Baccarat, as a celebration of the 250th anniversary of the iconic crystal house.

Luminous and sophisticated, Baccarat Rouge 540 lays on the skin like an amber floral and woody breeze. A poetic alchemy composed by Francis Kurkdjian, where the aerial notes of jasmine and the radiance of saffron carry mineral facets of ambergris and woody tones of a freshly cut cedar wood. A graphic and highly condensed signature.

To complement the classic red and gold allure of Maison Francis Kurkdjian Baccarat Rouge 540, I opted to combine it with some new key products from Tom Ford and La Prairie…in the look that follows, I am wearing:

Bottom Line: I hope you enjoyed this fragrance focus; Maison Francis Kurkdjian Baccarat Rouge 540 is truly exquisite!  Additionally, I am loving the classic appeal of the latest from Tom Ford Beauty…the Cream Color for Eyes doesn’t disappoint and the Patent Finish Lip Color is one of the plushest, shiniest, most pigmented formulas with which my lips have come into contact.  Simply divine.
Currently, the Neiman Marcus Beauty Event is in full swing…get a tote bag brimming with beauty and skincare samples with a purchase of $125 or more; now is the perfect time to try something new and stock up on your beauty favorites!

Rachel, I have to say, that rosy red TF lip color is truly beautiful on you. Isn't it fun to find a new scent that brings you joy. What is it about lip color and fragrance that completes us,as women? I remember my Mom saying to me years ago, you and your Daughter always smell so good. I'm going to start wearing perfume again! Thanks for bringing back that lovely memory, pretty lady!

Beautiful shots and color swatching as always! Question about the Tom Ford- how is it regarding staying power and feel? the "patent" in the name makes me think it's supposed to be tackier and I get a little wary of that finish!

      Thank you, Giulietta!

I find that the TF staying power is quite good; it feels cushiony and liquid without being sticky but some how it stays in place. It is like a way more hydrating and pigmented version of the YSL glossy stains.

I adore Ravegeur on you! Gorgeous makeup <3
I have a little bit of a love/hate relationship with MFK's perfumes. I own and love Lumiere Noire pour Homme. I tried the pour Femme but didnt work at all for me. My favorite to date has to be Absolue pour le Soir. I'll give Baccarat Rouge a try.
    Have a lovely week!
