In honor of National Lipstick Day, I am beyond thrilled to offer a close up of the brilliant Surratt Beauty Automatique Lip Crayon (available at Barney’s NY, Sephora and Liberty London) in one of my favorite quintessentially nude shade–Scantilly Clad–as well as swatches of every shade in the formula!
Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of the formula in action as well as the Bottom Line…
Above: The Surratt Automatique Lip Crayon comes in 19 stunning shades.
The Automatique Lip Crayon is simply sublime; the lush pigmentation, comfortably smooth texture and long-lasting matte finish make it a triple threat in Lipstick-Land.  I am utterly smitten with both the formula and the vast range of shade offerings:
  • In the Flesh–pale, fleshy nude
  • Stark Naked–ochre nude
  • Celestine–deep rose beige
  • In the Buff–Warm nude
  • Savoir-Faire–mid-toned rose
  • Gentillesse–tender rose pink
  • Birthday Suit–pinky nude (a hair lighter than Scantilly Clad)
  • Valentine–cool bright baby pink
  • Megalomane–blue-toned red
  • Clementine–bright citrus
  • Scantilly Clad–peachy nude pink
  • Fuchsine–sheer fuchsia
  • A La Mode–bright coral
  • Alluring–perfect, classic red
  • P.O.C–bold orange red
  • Shocking–audacious pink
  • Deep in Vogue–royal purple
  • Seductrice–deep blue red
  • Mahogany–oxblood

When I swatched the entire shade range late last week, choosing a shade to take home was an effortless endeavor…Scantilly Clad was calling my name from the instant I approached the Surratt Beauty counter.
This flattering peachy nude pink has just enough pigment to avoid washing out the face while still being light enough to create an authentic nude lip.  It is creamy, opaque and kind to sensitive lips; I get 4-5 hours of blissful, touch up free wear with a single application.  If you were at all unsure about this elusive formula, I hope that my swatches and discussion of the Surratt Automatique Lip Crayon have compelled you to give it a try; I am confident you won’t regret it!

By the way, the Nordstorm Anniversary Sale (discussed in detail HERE and HERE) ends on August 2nd and, as of last check today, there are quite a few incredible deals still in stock; will have a refreshed final shopping guide live ASAP ; )
