By Terry Spring 2015 Cellularose Moisturizing CC Cream and Blush Glace Details + Swatches!

Happy March, lovelies!  A couple of weeks ago, I had the pleasure of meeting with the venerable By Terry team to preview the upcoming collections in this glorious line.  With the first couple of products now available online at Space.NK (namely the Cellularose Moisturizing CC Cream and Cellularose Blush Glace All Over Edition), today seemed like the perfect opportunity to share those product-specific images from our visit!
Kindly scroll on for more details and images as well as the Bottom Line…

Above: Skincare meets base…the By Terry Cellularose CC Cream.
As a foundation fanatic, one could imagine my elation when Marissa told me that the first new release for Spring ’15 is the Cellularose Moisturizing CC Cream Color Control Multi-Tasking Sheer Coverage Cream.  This gorgeous skincare-infused base features an ultra light, smooth texture, medium coverage and glowing, lasting satin finish for skin that looks even, radiant and healthy.
It possesses a soft rose scent that is quintessential By Terry and, upon swatching all four shades, I was struck by the decent amount of coverage this formula imparts (more than Sheer Expert, less than Cover Expert, more luminous than Densiliss)…it’s opulent base at its best!
I have matched myself to shade #3 Beige, which is an excellent neutral to yellow beige for N/NC 25-30 skin and cannot wait to experience this foundation luxury in the very near future.

Above: This stunning cream comes in four self-adjusting shades.

Pure botanical technology and colour control concentrate, this CC cream gathers together in itself all the skincare and make-up actions in one single gesture. Its non-oily texture subtly tints, blurs imperfections and ideally adapts to each and every complexion. Instantaneously, the skin is unified, protected, luminous, smooth
and plumped.

Above: The Cellularose CC Cream comes in an airless tube with a pump-top applicator for control disperson.  I happen to adore this type of packaging, especially since I’m always on the go.

The Cellularose CC Cream comes in four self-adjusting shades:
  • 1 Nude: Lightest neutral beige for @N/NC/NW 10-15 skin
  • 2 Natural: Light beige with yellow undertones for @N/NC/NW 20-23 skin
  • 3 Beige: Light-medium beige with neutral to golden undertones for @N/NC/NW 25-30 skin (my best match)
  • 4 Tan: Dark beige with tan undertones for @N/NC/NW 35-50 skin

In addition to the CC Cream is the Cellularose Blush Glace All Over Edition.  In the past, I have reviewed this marvelous cream-gel hybrid blush formula (HERE) and was beyond thrilled to see another shade added to the collection. #4 Ice Dream is a rose gold wonder with the most spellbinding sheen.  It yeilds a soft peachy bronze hue that is flecked with luminous elements of gold; the fact that it is intended to be used all over the face undoubtedly heightens its appeal.
Depending on the depth of one’s skin tone and strategy of application, this potion can be used as a contour, blush, bronzer and highlighter!  I envision tapping this along my brow bones and upper cheek bones for a radiant flush and adding even more in the summer when my skin gets a touch darker.
This particular formula is so incredibly easy to use…consequently, I am confident that this will become a multi-tasking staple in many beauty lovers’ routines in the months to come!

This quenching blush flushes the cheeks with a cool burst of watercolor for a long-wearing healthy glow. Smooths the complexion, protects the skin, and delicately flushes the cheeks with color for a plumped, preened finish.

Above: JETHRO UPDATE…he is healing so nicely and will have his cone off permanently (I caught this image in a rare, cone-free moment where we must hold his paws so he doesn’t scratch his face) by the end of the week.  His personality is back in spades and we are so thankful that he is looking, feeling and acting better.  Thank you for prayers, kind words and support…xx

Bottom Line: I hope you enjoyed this initial preview of the gorgeousness that is By Terry Spring 2015!  In the coming days, I plan to do some close up/FOTD posts focused on the Cellularose Moisturizing CC Cream and All-Over Blush Glace (available at Space.NK and to be in stock at Barney’s NY any moment) but couldn’t wait to start March off with swatches.   There are also some additional imminent By Terry releases (slated for later on this month and in May) that I cannot wait to share when the time is right ; )

Does the By Terry CC Cream make YOUR heart flutter as it did mine?

Good things ahead, starting with my February favorites video (hoping to film this after work today!), a recap of the Neiman Marcus Beverly Hills Project Beauty event that I hosted this past weekend and I also have some exciting products to share including newness from Estee Lauder’s collaboration with Courreges, fresh Tom Ford, some Marc Jacobs lip color (Honeybun is a must!) and Burberry Spring/Summer releases!

Also, if you are interested in some additional reading, check out my recent Physician’s Formula Star of the Month Feature and my latest article for the Neiman Marcus Blog (all about glow getting).

After a wildly busy weekend, I am still in the midst of working on responding to your lovely emails and comments…thanks, as always, for your patience.

xx and have a beautiful Monday,

In their description they say the face is 'protected' but does it contain any SPF? I'm really excited to try it 🙂 thanks for another beautiful review 🙂

Hello Rachel! I hope you're having a lovely week! We are snowed in over on the East coast so I've admittedly been doing a lot of makeup hauling from my comfy couch LOL!
It's so wonderful to hear Jethro is back in form and he looks ever so handsome!

Thank you so much for this post, I've been itching to order the CC Cream but wasn't sure which shade…I'm around NW18-20…do you think the lightest shade would be too light or do they seem to do a good bit of adjusting once applied? I may just have to mix in a bit of liquid bronzer (my go-to fix for this problem, as I am often between shades).
I'm so excited to see if that blush is similar to the discontinued Rose de Rose liquid blush in Amber Rose!! It was a staple item in my stash and I would be thrilled to find something similar, especially if I could keep in the By Terry line!
Again, thank you for another insanely helpful and awesome post!
Wishing a great weekend to you and yours 🙂
    Xoxo,
    Rebekah

      Hi Rebekah!

Thanks for the sweet comment. Hope you are staying warm in the wild weather ; )

I am so glad this post was helpful for you. I would suggest Shade #2…Sharon Hagen (pictured at top) is about the same skin tone as you describe and she says #2 is her perfect match.

Hope that helps…have a beautiful week and talk soon…love to you!

I hope you are well and having a lovely weekend, it was awesome to read in your recent posts that Jethro is in the clear and healed beautifully!
Take care and hope to talk soon!

Hello! I like your review but hesitate if 1 Nude would be too pink, due to your perfect swatches. I am NC 5 – 10. I wish by Terry is sold in Canada. I don't like to order on-line due to all the extra costs involved.

      Hi Christina,

I don't think Nude is too pink…it leans neutral and is sheer enough to self adjust!

OMG, can't wait to try this! 🙂 Sheer and Cover Expert are already my all time favourite foundations (actually, you were the one to help me find my match a few years ago), and I often mix them together because that way they give the exact amount of coverage I adore, so I'm super excited as you placed CC's coverage right there, between them. 😀 Great review as always, and I must say Jethro is just too cute. <3 🙂

    Hi Rebekah!
I'm new to your fantastic blog…so glad to have found it! I'm looking for a new foundation and am considering the By Terry CC cream and the By Terry Densiliss Foundation…based on your reviews. I currently use Armani (I'm 5.5) or Chanel (30 beige) which I think are your colors as well. Which By Terry product would you recommend? Are the coverages similar? What shade? Unfortunately, I need to order online because By Terry isn't sold near me! I love the line for it's lipstick and especially the Rose Baum on my lips at night!

      Hi Amy!

So glad you found your way here ; ) In terms of your question, I recommend the Beige in the new By Terry CC and #7 in the Densiliss (a touch lighter than the Beige CC). The new CC has a bit less coverage (light-medium) and more glow whereas the Densiliss has medium-full coverage and a matte finish.

I hope that helps…XO and keep me posted,

I can't wait to try the CC cream either!
What would you say the finish is like? I love both Sheer and Cover expert, but Sheer does tend to go a little shiny on my T zone…so if this is 'dewy' it's probably not for me. Any help appreciated!
PS off-topic but I remember using your reviews to find my perfect match of Sheer Expert when I was still at uni…a couple of years ago; where has the time gone?! Thanks again for writing such helpful reviews x

      Hi Anon,

It is so good…it is a natural finish with a slight glow. I am working on the final review for this formula today and it should go live tomorrow! So glad that my swatches were helpful for you so long ago…it makes me happy to know that you've been around since the start of BP ; )

Hi there, great review as always! What would you say the finish and lasting power of the CC cream are, compared to Sheer Expert and Cover Expert?
    Thanks 🙂

      Thanks, London!

This lasts as long as the Cover Expert and longer than Sheer Expert (in my experience!).
