By Terry Cellularose Blush Glace…A Review + Video of All 3 Shades!

Above: The By Terry Cellularose Blush Glace comes in a frosted glass jar with a metal lid.
In January, I was thrilled to share my preview of the gorgeous By Terry Spring 2014 Collection.  I am happy to report that I am now in possession of all three shades of the Cellularose Blush Glace, a dreamy gel-meets-cream formula that provides a watercolor wash of pigment for the cheeks.
Kindly scroll on for details, a cadre of images, swatches, a comprehensive video review and the Bottom Line…
Above: The Blush Glace in direct sunlight.
From a visual standpoint, this blush appears whipped in texture, but instead of having a dense cream feel, it is slightly watery upon application.  There is no perceptible shimmer (see swatches below for proof of this!), but it does yield a satin finish of sorts.  One layer and the bright pigment is extremely sheer…another, and the impact is built up to a more noticeable level.  Even though all the shades are shockingly bright in their respective jars, the sheerness yet buildability allows them to translate from ultra subtle to bold over the course of a couple of carefully blended layers.
I use either my finger tips or a flat head brush to apply the formula on the apples of my cheeks; because this is thoroughly pigmented, I recommend exercising restraint during the “first pass” with the blush.  It can always be built up for more “punch” but, because it has a staining power,  over-applying is prohibitive.  Like most By Terry products, this blush has the signature scent of roses; it dissipates upon application and has not in any way irritated my very sensitive skin.
I love the overall effect of these blushes…applied over bronzer, my cheeks look naturally flushed and the finish lasts the entire day without getting migrating, streaking or getting overly glowy.  My video below further elaborates on the formula and offers a demonstration of application! Without a doubt, these bright and radiant blushes are the perfect way to usher in the spring and summer months!
These can be purchased online at Barney’s NY and B-Glowing and in-store at Barney’s NY (though I’ve heard reports of them being sold out at many physical locations!) and Space NK.
Above: Rose Melba is a light peachy pink with impressive opacity (for such a pale shade!)
Above: Flower Sorbet looks quite orange in the jar, but on the cheeks, it translates as a beautiful light coral.
Above: Frozen Petal positively looks like a red-tinged pink in the jar, but on the face it yields the most authentic “just pinched” look ever.

Bottom Line: The By Terry Cellularose Blush Glace is truly one of a kind!  The rose-scented, ultra-light texture allows it to seamlessly meld with the skin for a lit-from-within look that is completely stunning.  Delightfully, the wearer has the liberty to opt for a sheer wash of color or build it up for deeper pigmentation; lovers of cream blush formulas must try this version…the effect is truly magical.
As aforementioned, this can be purchased at retailers including Barney’s NY and B-Glowing

Have YOU tried the Cellularose Blush Glace?  If so, thoughts?  If not, what shade has caught your eye? Next By Terry product in the queue for review…the By Terry Cellularose Brightening CC Lumi-Serum!

    Hi BP!

I love these By Terry blushes! I have #1 and #3. Though after seeing your review, I'm (very) curious about #2 as well! These are a really fantastic product. I love the sheerness, believability, and lasting power of the formula. It is also very buildable.

Looking forward to your review of the By Terry Lumi Serums. I have the lightest shade. I adore the formulation, but I was hoping for something to wear all over the face for luminosity and this shade is too white for that. So instead, I use it as a highlighter – and I'm thrilled with those results. The 2nd shade (the pinkish one) may have been a better choice for me for all over. But regardless, I love it. Can't wait to hear what you have to say about the shades you have!

    Best, SJ

      Hello SJ,

Wonderful to hear from you! I am thrilled to hear that you have two of these shades…good job on procuring them before they sold out ; )

Ahh…the Lumi-Serums. I have three of the four shades (the first, second and fourth) and find that mixing them in various concentrations allows me to make the perfect shade to wear on its own or with foundation. It is so luminous and lovely. Review soon!

Hope your weekend is going well…any fun plans? xoxo and talk soon,

Hi B.P, long time no chat!! lol I'm super excited about these blushes, they are beautiful indeed. However, per your recomendation, I have ordered 3 Daniel Sandler blushes & can't wait for their arrival. I just received another Kanebo cp foundation order from Kimmie & got some bad news from her. They will no longer carry Kanebo as of April 30th!!! 🙁 She is not sure y they are pulling it. The company that owns it made the decision. So I will stock up. I love the ease of just texting or calling Kimmie & getting my order a few days later. Not sure we will be ordering it in the future but I'm sure you will help us with that seeing it is your favorite as well. Happy Spring. I am looking forward to good weather since we've had a bad winter with snow here. Talk soon xo

      Hello Lynn,

I've missed hearing from you…what a treat to see your name pop up in my inbox ; ) I hope all is well with you and your family!

Fantastic…I think you will love the Daniel Sandler blushes. Cherub still remains amongst my favorites and you will find them to be so luminous and lasting (just your style!)

I am so very sad about the Kanebo news and have been on the phone with Kimmie multiple times in the past few days. While I know that there are much bigger problems in the world, when a favorite beauty product (much less the entire line) becomes unavailable, it can be gutting. I'll be picking up a few backups of non-negotiables tomorrow and will put the official word out on the blog shortly. It shall pain me greatly to do so.

Happy Spring to you, my friend…please don't be a stranger…xoxo and talk soon,

So good to talk with you as well. Please forgive me but I'm not sure if I already metioned this, but I ordered the new Giorgio Armani liquid bronzer. I feel like I did but can't seem to find in my comments. I'm hoping to mix a bit with foundation. Will keep u posted. I too, will order backup of Kanebo before they pull it. 🙁 Happy Sunday xo

Thanks for letting me know…I am a fan of the versatility of liquid bronzers (a favorite is the LMdB Bella Bronzer) and the latest Armani bronze collection is gorgeous! Please keep me posted on your experience ; )

I just saw Kimmie at NM today and came home with a backup of the cream foundation and foundation powder (nothing will match me the way that Natural Beige does)! It was definitely a bittersweet afternoon.

Have a beautiful week ahead and talk soon…xx,

Oh noes! I suspected something was up with Kanebo since many items are "unavailable- date unknown" on the NM website.
      Thanks for letting us know.

I know…this is terrible news, indeed. It actually took me a couple of days just to mentally process it. So ver sad.

Love the video and the change of venue to outdoors. I can't wait for spring!! I've always like by Terry, but this spring she really hit it out of the park. I have Shade #2 in this blush, and can't decide which to order next! Your video and photos are super informative, but you've really just convinced me I need BOTH. 😉
I also have one of the Lumi-Serums, Apricot Glow. LOVE IT. As others have observed with by Terry face products, at first you don't think there's much going on. Then you spot yourself in a mirror, or the compliments start flooding in. Magic. I'm a smidge darker than you (shade #8 in Densiliss) and I'm wondering if I need Sunny Flash too. I'll be waiting for your review with baited breath!
Oh, and I have more Surratt on the way. Barney's is getting all my "fun money" this month!! Mostly thanks to you. 🙂

      Hello Lisa,

Thank you so much for the kind feedback! Yes, the Apricot Glow is insane, no? I love mixing these serums in with my foundation for a subtle yet highly effective result. Sunny Flash is gorgeous, however, I can only imagine using it as a light bronzer or to warm up a too-light foundation…at least until I get a bit of color in the summer ; )

"Fun money"–sounds good! What better way to spend it than at Barney's on incredible products from By Terry and Surratt!

Hope your week is going well…xoxo,
