Closeup: Cle de Peau Beaute Radiant Liquid Rouge + My Latest Makeup Storage Solution

Clé de Peau Beauté Radiant Liquid Rouge.
Late last week, I reviewed the major components of the Clé de Peau Beauté Fall 2016 (also available at CdPB and Neiman Marcus).  And although I made mention of the glorious  *Radiant Liquid Rouge, the story was already brimming with images so I decided to do a close up of this marvelous lip color as it feels like all I’ve been reaching for as of late.

I coupled said spotlight with an overview of my most *recent makeup storage solution by Boxy Girl.  Crafted from luminous and sturdy acrylic, this box (discussed later in the post) is unlike any clear organizer I’ve encountered thus far.

Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of the products in action as well as the Bottom Line…

The *Clé de Peau Beauté Radiant Liquid Rouge (also available at CdPB and Neiman Marcus) is a breakthrough in lip color.  It possesses what I like to describe as the lip color trifecta: saturated pigment, flattering shine and nourishing, long lasting performance.  If that were not enough, the resplendent glass Art Deco packaging merely adds to the appeal!

Liquid in texture, the formula bathes lips in a wash of radiant color that is simultaneously translucent and opaque. Though one may be inclined to compare Radiant Rouge to the YSL Glossy Stains, I find it singular in its performance; the formula is more hydrating, less sticky and has superior color payoff to the Glossy Stains, making it a much better product overall.  Although all eight shades are stunning, I am particularly fond of #11 Lingerie and #14 Sequin…worn separately or mixed together (as both my mom and I like to do), these shades capture the best of the peachy-pink-nude family and wear beautifully for hours.

In summation, the *Clé de Peau Beauté Radiant Liquid Rouge is an arguably exciting release from CdPB.  The shades are exquisite and the performance is exceptional, easily edging into being my favorite lip product in the opulent CdPB lineup.  There is nothing I would seek to improve on this formula…my only hope is that the brand decides to release even more shades in the future!
Swatches in direct sunlight…each swatch reflects a single pass of the wand, thereby illustrating the intense color payoff of the formula.

Shade Descriptions:

  • 11 Lingerie: A creamy peachy pink–perfect for creating a muted nude lip when worn alone and glorious over pink lipstick (like *Charlotte Tilbury Liv It Up–reviewed HERE).
  • 12 Chenille: **Not pictured but I did swatch it in-store and it is a lovely and opaque medium rose beige.
  • 13 Flushed: A medium berry nude with a satin finish.
  • 14 Sequin: Also a favorite, this is a brighter pinky peach with a satin finish. I love mixing it with #11 Lingerie for a rich nude lip (as worn in the images at the end of this post).
  • 15 Fast Lane: A stunning violet pink–super color payoff and so flattering on cooler skin tones.
  • 16 Deco: A medium coral with the least amount of pigmentation on my lips–while very pretty, this particular shade feels more like a gloss than a liquid lipstick on my lips.
  • 17 Bugatti Red: Intense warm red with outrageous shine.
  • 18 Lempinka Red: Bold classic neutral red…the color saturated nature of this shade is otherworldly!
The doe foot applicator is soft yet precise and

Meet Boxy Girl.
In terms of makeup storage, I recently had the opportunity to try a brilliant organizer from Boxy Girl. The “*4-drawer stack with lid” offers four formidable drawers for endless product configurations.
My initial impressions of this organizer are as follows:
  • The Lucite material of the unit feels markedly sturdier and more robust than other boxes I’ve used.
  • The drawers open and close easily while feeling secure.
  • The drawers are impressively deep, allowing me to layer products and maximize my space.
  • The construction of the box is quality in nature; everything is molded to perfection, with clear seams and no signs of glue.
  • The material resists scratching and smudging for a more aesthetically pleasing way of storing one’s beauty bounty.
All in all, I am over the moon for this unit; the Lucite drawers and solid construction set the Boxy Girl brand apart from its contemporaries…organizing my products has never been so satisfying!
This particular model has a top drawer with a lid, for effortless access to larger items.

The Mason Pearson Pocket Boar Bristle Brush is my latest haircare indulgence.  Perfectly proportioned for my purse, this luxurious brush is the gold standard for gently detangling (read: no breakage) one’s tresses.  The bristles add shine and my hair looks more voluminous and silky with a single brushing.  I don’t know why it took me so long to finally give this venerable line a try!
Bobbi Brown Instant Confidence Stick…this formula glides over expression lines (like crows feet and the dreaded “elevens” to instantly create a smoother visage.  I picked this up on a whim but am extremely impressed with how well it reduces the appearance of wrinkles. The nourishing formula also blurs pores and mattifies skin…a new resident of my makeup bag, indeed.
The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer (reviewed HERE) now comes in a brilliant travel size.  I already finished my first regular sized compact and couldn’t resist adding this more diminutive one into the mix.
Last look.

Bottom Line: I hope you enjoyed this *Clé de Peau Beauté Radiant Liquid Rouge closeup; truly I am utterly smitten with the flattering shades, the intense color payoff and the indisputable comfort of wear! Additionally, the Boxy Girl acrylic organizer has taken my makeup storage to the next level and I can’t wait to add even more drawers to my collection.

Good things ahead, including a travel FOTD and a host of new product discoveries…looking forward to sharing!

Have a beautiful start to your week…xx,

BP I have the Boxy Girl Lucite organizer too and I love it! I ordered now without the lid and keep taller items and brushes in Dyptique candle jars. It really is expertly made and sturdy. Also agree it resists smudges!

A plus that it looks gorgeous on my bathroom counter 😉

That is awesome news, Karen…isn't the box the best? I love to hear that you are storing your makeup this way and am definitely inspired to pick up a few more as my collection is always on the verge of out of control ; )

I am also a fan of the BoxyGirl! I bought one earlier this month and the very day I received it, I ordered a second one. I also have the 4 drawer stacks, both with lids. Unfortunately, both of mine are tucked into my makeup closet in the bathroom…but I love them so much. The taller drawers are a godsend, as are the dividers. I don't need those in every drawer, but having the option is so what I needed. These replaced quite a few from Muji, and I can't believe I waited this long to start looking, but clearly the universe wanted me to find the Boxy.Girl.
