Dolce & Gabbana Sophia Loren Signature N° 1 Lipstick: A Class Act

Above: The Dolce & Gabbana Sophia Loren Signature N° 1 Lipstick.
Designed as a grand tribute to screen goddess Sophia Loren, the Dolce & Gabbana Sophia Loren Signature N° 1 Lipstick is utterly sublime.  Deemed a “natural red,” this raspberry-toned crimson has a soft, shiny finish that drenches lips in saturated pigment and hydration.  Given its illustrious inspiration and decidely wearable nature, I am thrilled to present a closeup of this lipstick!
Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of Dolce & Gabbana Sophia Loren Signature N° 1 Lipstick in action…
Above: A class act, indeed.
Ever an unapologetic nude lip lover, I valiantly ventured outside of my comfort zone when trying this shade for the first time; one afternoon with this rosy gem, however, and I became smitten with its flushed tones and dreamy, reflective effect.  In my experience, here are the strongest, most captivating qualities of Dolce & Gabbana Sophia Loren Signature N° 1 Lipstick:
  • The golden square tube is emblazoned with Sophia Loren’s signature…so chic.
  • The rose-meets-raspberry shade satisfies one’s need for a red lip, without ever officially venturing into red territory.
  • The soft and shiny finish is unexpectedly comely; it allows one to apply without major concern for precision and visually enhances the volume of one’s lips.
  • The formula is moisturizing and lasts for 3-4 hours without touch ups.
  • The shade, however pigmented, does not oxidize to a darker, more intense shade of pink/red as the hours wear on.  Instead, it fades to a fetching berry-toned stain.
  • The ease of wear, especially for a darker shade, has compelled me to keep this lip color in my purse all season!  In sum, I am beyond pleased with this lipstick and earnestly recommend it.

To compliment the lush tones of D&G Signature N° 1, I embraced the following products:

Bottom Line: The Dolce & Gabbana Sophia Loren Signature N° 1 Lipstick is every bit as timeless and classic as one would expect; the rose-meets-raspberry is endlessly wearable and sure to compliment a spectrum of skin tones.  If you’ve been in the market for a deeper yet effortless shade, then I implore you to consider procuring Signature N° 1 before it sells out…it’s already completely out of stock at Saks!

Good things ahead including a fresh video featuring my current makeup routine, a cheek color intensive and some new skincare in my life!
I hope your week is going well thus far…xx,

The Sophia lippie looks so pretty on you! I have it on back order @ Nordstrom's and I'm hoping it comes in soon. It's not a shade I usually wear, but I wanted to try it. I'm so glad you showed what eye colors it looks good with-Thanks!

I feel like D&G flies under the radar in the land of cosmetics — but everything I've bought from them so far I've loved. Will definitely check out that lipstick. Thanks for the great pics!

I wholeheartedly agree, Robyn! It is a subtle and beautiful line that remains relatively quiet in a land of constant beauty releases.

      Thanks for the kind comment…xx,

Do you have any suggestions to help the Sophia Loren lipstick stay on longer? I love the color, but even with MAC prep & prime lip base, it doesn't last long. I'm usually fine with other lipsticks. Looks pretty on you!

      Hi Anon,

Thanks so much. I have found it lasts a great while on my pigmented lips but perhaps try a nude lip liner to create a base for which it to cling? Let me know how that works!
