Jouer Cosmetics Spring Sirens Shoot with Troy Jensen…A Photo Diary

Above: Jouer Spring Sirens shoot in action.

Last Thursday, I had the rare and distinct opportunity to be a part of the Jouer Cosmetics Spring Sirens 2014 shoot with celebrity makeup artist Troy Jensen.  This once-in-a-lifetime experience was replete with a glamorous 1960’s inspired Jouer makeover and professional photo shoot with the ebullient Troy and his team, as well as the chance to leave with a cadre of the most brilliant images ever.

Kindly scroll on for all the details and a photo diary of the afternoon…
Above: The shoot took place at the sleek and modern Milk Studios in LA.
Above: Before the shoot…straight from work, minimal makeup ; )
Above: The vision board for the Spring Sirens shoot…some of the editors who participated embraced a red-lipped rocker vibe while others (like me!) embodied a homage to the neutral, ethereal 1960‘s.  My chic, backless, beaded dress was provided by For the Stars Fashion House.

Above: Getting a requisite dose of bronzing from Troy’s assistants, Veronica Faith and Aliana Moss.  Jouer Founder, the gorgeous Christina Zibler, watching the process!

Jouer products used for the complete look are as follows:

Above: Getting a final touch up before shooting with Troy.

Above: Having the best time a girl could hope to have!
Above: Wind machine + stick straight hair + real flower petal lashes = a wildly enjoyable shoot.
Above: Looking at the images with Troy…he is so supportive, gracious and encouraging…his kindness is contagious!
Above: A selfie moment with Troy…he is an expert on locating the most flattering lighting ; )
Above: With the inspiring Christina Zilber…it is always a complete joy to be able to visit with her.
Above: With the lovely Meg Young, directly following the shoot.
Above: Once the shoot was finished, we worked with professional photo retoucher Felipe Menezes to select a favorite image…he then worked his magical editing skills to make it its very best.
Above: With my mom and blog assistant, Laura, who kindly documented much of the day with the images in this post.
Below: The Final Product

Bottom Line: Troy Jensen is a dream to work with and being adorned with a beauteous collection of Jouer products was the perfect way to spend a Thursday afternoon.  I am beyond honored to have been included in the Jouer Cosmetics Spring Sirens shoot; experiencing, first hand, the brilliance of so many talented professionals in a single studio left me awestruck and thankful.

Jouer is an incredible independent cosmetics line and I highly recommend trying it if you haven’t thus far…some of my favorite products include:

I hope your week has been marvelous…I am currently at the RewardStyle Conference in Dallas and cannot wait to share my adventures in a post in the very near future.  Next up, a Hearst Castle Look of the Day post as well as my comprehensive review of the Cle de Peau Cream Foundation!

I adore this look and can only imagine how dreamy and wonderful it was to be pampered for this special shoot! I am thrilled for you and so happy that you got to experience such a wonderful day. You actually look totally different in some of those photos..the transformative power of makeup! I must say I love the way your eyes are done. What's the main difference from the way you usually do them?

I agree, Christabel…makeup has the ability to change the face entirely at times! My eyes have a green shadow, black 1960's eyeliner and serious false lashes ; )
