Le Metier de Beaute Classic Flawless Foundation...All Shades Swatched!

My recent six days in Palm Beach Florida were glorious...the sun, mild humidity, beautiful Breakers hotel and surrounding Singer Island made this California girl feel like she was truly somewhere far away.  Because I know that I will get sun in a tropical state, no matter how much sunscreen I apply (for the record, I used plenty of Sunday Riley Cashmere on my face and stayed my normal NC 25--reviewed HERE), I packed some darker foundations (likely what contributed to my 70 lb. suitcase) so that my face would match my newly tanned body.  What I didn't anticipate, however, is that I would get the chance to try and fall in love with a new foundation, namely Le Metier de Beaute Classic Flawless Foundation, while away!

Nestled on the tree lined Worth Avenue resides Neiman Marcus, which houses the lovely Le Metier de Beaute counter that I visited twice while in town.  On my first visit (which was prompted by torrential rain...no pool time for us that day!), I was fortunate to work with LMdB Specialist, Delbert Faires,  and LMdB National Trainer, Melory Johnson who helped me select a lip creme duo (Two Lips, to be reviewed soon, is one of my new favorite peachy pink shades) and generously sent me back to the Breakers with two sample shades of the Classic Foundation in #7 and #9, which, in combination, could match whatever tan I managed to gain during the week.  My husband and I both had such an entertaining and enjoyable time visiting with Delbert, Melory and Ami (pictured below)...they are definite assists to the LMdB brand!

I started wearing the foundation the very next day, mixing two thirds of the #7 with a third of the #9 and headed off to the pool.  I couldn't believe how well this foundation held up in the sunlight, humidity and even an occasional drizzle.  Applied with my Sephora Airbrush, this medium-to-full coverage foundation made my skin poreless and even toned; even though it is not touted as high definition, it was very difficult to perceive the product on my skin when looking in the mirror.  That reality is high definition enough for me!  Additionally, this non scented foundation was gentle to my extremely sensitive skin...no breakouts or unsavory reactions...just smooth, glowing, even and perfected skin.  In many cases, I didn't even set the foundation with powder! 

While I have used many LMdB lip products (my praises for Miami and Palm Springs Color Core Lipstick can be found HERE), I never really gave thought to the foundation because I've had my hands full with some other marvelous products.  I am, however, really glad that this trip yielded the discovery because I envision myself using this all summer!

I was so excited about the performance of the Le Metier de Beaute Classic Flawless Foundation that on my second trip to Neiman's, I bought both #7 and #9 and subsequently swatched all twelve shades!  FYI: The boxes are labeled with Roman numerals (hence my labels in the images above and below), but I noticed that the LMdB website uses traditional Arabic numbers (1, 2, 3...) so hopefully that clarifies the numbering system.  

At quick glance (it was our last stop before heading to the airport and, therefore, a bit rushed!), shades 1-4 are suitable for NC/NW 15-20 skin tones, shades 5-9 are suitable for NC/NW 25-35 skin tones and shades 10-12 are perfect for NC 40 and above.

Bottom Line: If you are looking for a medium-to-full coverage foundation that is respectful to sensitive skin, lasts a full day and yields a glowing, poreless complexion, Le Metier de Beaute Classic Flawless Foundation is superb option.  I am pleased to add this to my foundation arsenal and will be doing a close up swatch comparison of #7, #9 and my other foundation favorites in the very near future!
