Brand New: The Clé de Peau Beauté Radiant Fluid Foundation Matte + New Concealer Shades, Sisley Powders and Natasha Denona Chromium Shadows

Introducing the stellar *Clé de Peau Beauté Radiant Fluid Foundation Matte SPF 20
The end of August means many things: back to (some form of) school, wildly hot weather in much of the world and, for us beauty enthusiasts, fall makeup launches galore!

To close out my first week of the new semester (I clocked in 9+ hours of Zoom meetings on Wednesday alone, by the way!), I am excited to share the latest base products from Clé de Peau Beauté, including the *Clé de Peau Beauté Radiant Fluid Foundation Matte SPF 20 (available at Nordstrom as well!) and deeper shade extensions of the *Clé de Peau Beauté The Concealer, along with a fresh and versatile powder from Sisley-Paris and the most lustrous duo-chrome eyeshadows ever to grace one's lids, courtesy of Natasha Denona

Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of everything in action as well as the Bottom Line...

The *Clé de Peau Beauté Radiant Fluid Foundation Matte SPF 20 comes in 24 shades.
I have put the *Clé de Peau Beauté Radiant Fluid Foundation Matte SPF 20 (also available at Nordstrom) to the test for the entire month of August and I find myself loving it more (is that even possible, in light of my existing affinity?) with each passing day. If you've read BP for any length of time, you probably know that CdPB consistently creates foundations that I adore and this new launch is no exception. I like to think of myself as a purveyor of "glower" bases on the whole, but this matte version--which really is more of a fresh natural finish on me--couldn't have come at a better time as we've been experience record heat and humidity here in Southern CA.

The luxe and weighty square bottle (destined to be the centerpiece of one's vanity) features a pump dispenser and navy and gold styling aligned with the classic elegance of CdPB. Rich and nourishing (yet surprisingly lightweight), the formula itself offers medium-to-full coverage with skin care benefits and a gorgeous matte finish that, paradoxically, leaves skin looking multidimensional and, dare I say it, softly radiant. I deeply appreciate the way my pores and fine lines are instantly blurred upon application and the lasting power of the foundation is impressive...I get 8-10+ hours of touch up-free, transfer-resistant wear, even on a steamy day.

One pump is more than enough for the medium coverage I prefer and, upon distributing it with a damp beauty sponge (my application technique of choice...especially when pressed for time, which is always), I am in awe of how even, balanced and healthy my complexion looks. It's truly a "my skin but better" base that polishes the canvas without looking the slightest bit overdone.

Significant coverage, yet entirely natural looking...matte, yet multidimensionally radiant...long-lasting yet lightweight and breathable...this is the foundation of the future and the future is now

All twelve shades of the *Clé de Peau Beauté The Concealer.
The *Clé de Peau Beauté The Concealer, ever the subject of epic praise, has extended its shade lineup with six new shades tailored to complement olive, tan and rich complexions. The concentrated cream (a little goes a long way) effortlessly covers imperfections and dark circles while resisting creasing or migrating, resulting in perfected skin that looks healthy, fresh and moisturized.

I have worn Almond to brighten my under eyes for years but, since being introduced to the new hues, have found an ideal match in Buff, which still possesses brightening power, while being the most seamless match for my olive skin. Those with deeper skin tones will love the versatility that Hazelnut, Toffee, Nutmeg, Cocoa and Espresso provide. They are long-awaited additions, welcome with open arms!

The Complete Face.
// THE COMPLETE FACE //
  • *Clé de Peau Beauté Radiant Fluid Foundation Matte in BF50: I blended one pump of this skin-perfecting elixir all over my face with a beauty sponge for medium coverage with a natural finish...no setting powder needed. BF 50 is the shade match I never knew I needed; it works so well on my medium olive skin, never pulling orange or yellow...just a true golden that  doesn't oxidize.
  • *Clé de Peau Beauté The Concealer in Buff: I swept this concealer along my lower orbital region to banish the darkness that results from many deadlines and little sleep. It, as always, worked like a charm...as aforementioned, Buff is my new match. It's perfection for medium olive skin.
  • *Sisley-Paris Phyto Poudre Compact in Bronze and Sandy: These buttery new powders from Sisley are so utilitarian. Sandy is a medium beige that I used on my T-zone to preemptively strike shine and I used Bronze on the hollows of my cheeks and perimeters of my face to add depth, structure and warmth to my complexion. The formula is finely milled and extremely skin like (read: no shimmer or powdery finish) yet somehow manages to leave everything looking airbrushed and inordinately smooth. I can't wait to continue to creatively play with these gems but am already getting lots of use from them in my daily routine.
  • Surratt Artistique Cheek Brush: My constant companion and brush of choice for the application of all powder products, I used it to blend both my bronzer and blush for this look. This brush is five years old and still going strong!
  • *LAWLESS Make Me Blush in Sakura (reviewed HERE): A delightful blend of luminous pink and radiant peach, this imparts dewy, "baby doll cheeks" in a single swipe.
  • Natasha Denona Chromium Multichrome Liquid Eyeshadow in Dragonfly: This epic eyeshadow launch is unlike anything I've ever tried. Lightweight, concentrated, fragrance-free, crease-free, waterproof and futuristically duo-chrome, the shades dance with light, dramatically shifting color as one moves. Even if one prefers a more subdued result I find that daytime looks are completely achievable with both Infra-Nude and Dragonfly--I did a full work-appropriate look with these two shades and my fingertips in less than 30 seconds this week--and the other color options are simply stunning. If you're on the line about trying these, I implore you to give at least one a spin; they are limited edition and I'd hate for you to miss out on the opulence of light and color that is Natasha Denona Chromium.
  • *Victoria Beckham Beauty Satin Kajal Liner in Black: Ever on my waterline, it's simply the best for a deep, dark line that stays in place, even for sensitive eyes.
  • *EM Cosmetics Pick Me Up Volume + Length Mascara: This brand new mascara is a dream! Instantly lengthening and voluming, it creates fluffy lashes via a tubing formula that doesn't smudge or flake while creating a false lash effect. I love how long it lasts and how easy it is to remove...just a bit of warm water on a cloth and you're good to go.
  • *SUQQU Tone Touch Shadow #12: I can't wait for this luminous beige shade to be restocked; in the meanwhile, I will sparingly apply it my brow bones (as done below) for an ethereal glow.
  • Jouer Lip Liner in Pink Champagne (reviewed HERE): I love this long lasting liner more with each passing day...sometimes, I just wear it alone (no transfer yet somehow not the slightest bit drying) for lips that persist and it, of course, pairs perfectly with pinky nudes as worn below.
  • Pat McGrath Lip Fetish Divinyl Lip Shine in Nude Venus: Entranced by the color-drenched balm-meets-lipstick allure of this new launch, I ordered this without swatching it (such a luxury  is rare these days, no?) and am just as pleased with the glossy neutral as anticipated. The lip color is buttery with rich cellophane color payoff that adeptly harmonizes pink, peach and beige for a gorgeous take on an Autumnal nude. In the images at the end of this post, I applied a single coat for plenty of color and shine.

Style notes.
// STYLE NOTES //
  • Vitamin A West Dress: Body-conscious but not overly tight, this ribbed cotton sheath is opaque yet breathable and and pairs just as well with a sweater as it does with a bikini top.
  • Ivory fluffy cardigan (longer sleeve option HERE): I am having a minor dalliance with ivory...it feels so fresh and light and there's nothing quite like a creamy neutral cardigan to brighten (and warm) up an outfit, no?
  • Birkenstock Arizona Slide: Classic and comfortable, I wear my Birks multiple times a week. I have my eye on the taupe-meets-beige shade I linked to here, next.

Bottom Line: I hope you enjoyed this late-August look at new fall beauty and found the swatches to be helpful...would love to know what caught YOUR eye!

I, for one, couldn't be happier about the performance of the *Clé de Peau Beauté Radiant Fluid Foundation Matte SPF 20 new shade match in the *Clé de Peau Beauté The Concealer, smoothing, skin refining perfection of the Sisley-Paris Phyto Poudre Compact and duo chrome radiance of the Natasha Denona Chromium Multichrome Liquid Eyeshadow. Their collective impact and lasting power are ever so apropos for these times.

Good things ahead, including a Labor Day beauty spotlight, with a roundup of some of the sales that I'll be shopping, a new video tutorial and a host of fresh launches that are currently in my testing queue. Cannot wait to share!

Stay strong, seek wisdom and sending much love,

xx

Still in Stock: My Final Beauty and Style Picks from the Nordstrom Sale

Beauty selects from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale
Happy Friday! This week has been a full one...I almost have all of my classes ready to go for the fall semester (an excess of screen time doesn't begin to describe it) and have been shooting new beauty like crazy, all the while chasing the most darling two year old everywhere (and she's fast, I tell you!).

Before I embark upon the weekend for a bit of recuperation from the last few days, I am happy to announce that the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is now open for General Access...there are still many brilliant products in stock and I've rounded up some of my favorites to show you in this story.

Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of everything in action as well as the Bottom Line...

Sunlit Nordstrom Beauty.
// THE BEAUTY ETC. //

Voluspa Vermeil Set of 5 Mini Tin Candles
I've been buying Voluspa candles for many years; the tins are beautiful and the candles always smell sophisticated and welcoming. The Voluspa Vermeil Set of 5 Mini Tin Candles. The set comes in five different colors and scents for optimum variety and while I plan to share a few with friends and family, it will be a challenge as I'm growing quite attached to them all.

I also supplemented my candle stash with a few of the Voluspa Saijo Persimmon Candles. I buy this particular version year round as they smell like a dream and make the best impromptu gifts for neighbors!

Sisley All Eyes on Sisley Set
For eyes, the Sisley All Eyes on Sisley Set is a sublime option. Containing two full sized products--the L'Integral Anti-Age Eye and Lip Contour Cream (which, by the way, comes with its own rolling tool for precise and therapeutic application) and Eye Contour Mask--this set pampers the orbital area with powerful skincare benefits that smooth, brighten and restore with every application.

I deeply appreciate that the Contour Cream can be used to refine both the eye and lip areas (points for multitasking!) and I don't travel anywhere without my Eye Contour Mask. It adds instant moisture and vitality for tired eyes on contact.
Sisley-Paris Le Phyto-Gloss.
While on the subject of Sisley-Paris, I need to show you swatches of these five opulent Le Phyto-Gloss shades! Ultra reflective and wildly plush, the gloss comes in both cream and satin finishes in a chic array of pale, neutral and vibrant tones...I wear the pearlescent Moon like crazy and predict that the radiant mauve Twilight will be the color of fall.

Anniversary Sale sets from Charlotte Tilbury...if skincare is your penchant, the Charlotte Tilbury Red Carpet Skin Secrets Set (center of image) is a must. The Magic Elixir is every bit as good as the name suggests.
Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lip Secrets Set and Charlotte Tilbury Glowing, Gorgeous Eye Secrets Set.
I look forward to the Charlotte Tilbury x Nordstrom Anniversary Sale offerings every single year and this time around, I indulged in both the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lip Secrets Set and Charlotte Tilbury Glowing, Gorgeous Eye Secrets Set. Both collections are replete with the pinky nude and golden tones towards which I gravitate in formulas that I already adore.

The Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lip Secrets Set contains the Pillow Talk Liner (I'm on #5 of this wonder...that speaks volumes), the original Pillow Talk Lipstick (in my opinion, the best) and the Collagen Lip Bath in Pillow Talk, which increases volume while imparting a rich rosy nude shine.

The Charlotte Tilbury Glowing, Gorgeous Eye Secrets Set includes the Eyes to Mesmerize Cream Shadow (renown for its ability to resist creasing while wearing evenly for hours) in two exclusive shades: the warm gold Golden Eclipse and Golden Bronze Star Gold. I've been a fan of Star Gold since its release a couple of years ago and thrilled that Charlotte decided to bring it back for this special set. One of my top 3 mascaras of life also comes in this set: The Legendary Lashes Volume 2 Mascara, which lengthens and volumes for a false lash effect. I appreciate that it doesn't smudge, even on my allergy-ridden eyes and love the dramatic 1960s film star result that two coats creates.

Sunlit Charlotte Tilbury...these rose gold tones are a sight to behold, no?
The NuFACE Fix, pictured with a Dagne Dover pouch.
I've been a fan of all things NuFACE since the brand's launch nearly a decade ago. My latest go-to is the NuFACE Fix, which is the most portable micro-current device in the lineup. Excellent for eyes and lips, it adds firmness and lift to the most expressive areas of your face...it's purse and travel friendly and delivers instant results in a single 60-second treatment.
MAC Powder Kiss Liquid Lip Color
Color saturated with the most gorgeous creamy matte finish, the MAC Powder Kiss Liquid Lip Color has arrived, delivering a luxe lip in a single pass. The doe-foot applicator ensures precise application and the muted yet bright tones flatter a spectrum of skin tones. The formula itself feels like silk, leaving lips comfortable and moisturized for hours. Find your shade and utterly enjoy!

MAC Powder Kiss Soft Matte Eyeshadow
Also new for MAC, the buttery smooth MAC Powder Kiss Soft Matte Eyeshadow creates a sueded effect with intense color payoff...the shades are perfectly aligned with the fall months ahead and I've been reaching for the muted plum Ripened and fresh cream Best of Me frequently.
Swatches of the MAC Powder Kiss Soft Matte Eyeshadow.
Additionally, all MAC Foundations will be 25% off on 8/22, making it the perfect time to stock up on  your base of choice. I have loved the MAC Studio Face and Body Foundation (my current match is C4) for years on end as it's lightweight, buildable and transfer proof with a gorgeous natural finish.

Guerlain Abeille Royale Anti-Aging Radiance Rituel Set
This month, the venerable French brand Guerlain is offering a beautiful value set. The Guerlain Abeille Royale Anti-Aging Radiance Rituel Set features the royal jelly-rich Abeille Royale Double R Serum (love the way it firms and smooths) along with three deluxe travel sized pieces...the Abeille Royale Honey Nectar Lotion, Abeille Royale Youth Watery Anti-Aging Oil (glowingly discussed on BP multiple times over) and the Abeille Royale Eye Cream. It's a $271 value for $215 and offers a lush introduction to the revered Abeille Royale line.

In terms of clothes, here are three fresh ensemble recommendations in action...

A top with a twist
(1) This Free People Long Sleeve Top is made of cotton and runs large (wearing a small here). The thumb holes are an intriguing detail that makes me ready for the cooler fall temperatures tom come!

Next-level casual.
(2) I paired this Band Tee with relaxed (on sale!) denim from Anine Bing. Throw in some strappy slides with a very reasonable 2-inch heel and it's an elevated take on jeans and a tee shirt.
It's been band tee central over here since mid-March...can anyone else relate?
As dressed up as I'm getting these days.
(3) I've been wearing a lot of the Spanx Workout to Waves Sports Bra...the full coverage cut is supportive and actually plays well with non-workout clothes like these relaxed Topshop trousers and an animal print blouse. I finished the look with an equally comfortable pair of wedge sandals that I've been wearing nonstop since last fall...so glad they're still in stock. They're lightweight, require no break-in time and feel like you're walking on clouds. Well worth the pursuit!

Five things...
// FIVE THINGS NOT PICTURED (BUT STILL LOVED) //
  • Dior Sostellaire Sunglasses: I purchased these during early access and am wearing them constantly; lightweight and unmitigatedly classic, I feel like Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's each time I put them on.
  • Exfolikate Cleanser Daily Foaming Wash: I am on my third tube of this gentle yet effective face wash...it cleanses without stripping and leaves my skin feeling balanced. Love it.
  • Tom Ford Black Orchid & Ombre Leather Travel Size EDP: I am partial to travel sized fragrances as it's rare for me to finish a full bottle of anything. Both of these juices smell divine and work well for a his and her gift situation or, in my case, self-gift situation.
  • ghd Black Platinum 1-Inch Styler: I've had my ghd 1-inch straightener for 7+ years and it's still going strong...it leaves hair silky, soft and straight while mitigating heat damage with every pass. Anytime anyone asks me for a recommendation for a hot tool, I always suggest ghd as my experience has been stellar.
  • Tom Ford Soleil Blanc Shimmering Body Oil and Lip Color: I adore this body oil year round; it nourishing, glow-inducing and its fragrance is reminiscent of a relaxing vacation (yes, please) and the bright lip is just as mood lifting.
