A Second Round of Sephora Sale Suggestions Based on My Purchases + a First Look at New Charlotte Tilbury Launches

My Sephora Sale order finally arrived.
Last week, I placed an order for the Sephora sale (first round of suggestions HERE), which is offering 20% off all offers for VIB Rouge members through 5/1 with code SPRINGSAVE. VIB members will receive 15% off from 4/21-4/29 and Beauty Insiders will receive 10% off from 4/23-4/27.

Today, I am excited to share a look at what I chose with swatches galore, along with an overview of the latest two launches from Charlotte Tilbury!

Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of everything in action as well as the Bottom Line, which includes a special Beauty Professor event invitation...

In terms of non-makeup items, my recommendations skew strongly towards sunscreen and fragrance.

*Ellis Brooklyn SALT EDP and *Ellis Brooklyn SWEET EDP
  • *Ellis Brooklyn SALT EDP: For better or for worse, I am a lover of all things salt (water, air, as a seasoning of sorts). Perhaps it's due to growing up by the sea. Needless to say, I was duly intrigued by this juice after meeting with its creator, Bee Shapiro, prior to its launch. This complex fragrance somehow captures the earthiness of salt while delivering an array of notes (Ambergris and Tiare) that conjure up the warmth of the sun. It's divine.
  • *Ellis Brooklyn SWEET EDP: This is a marshmallow wonder with enough creamy musk to make it a sensual skin scent of epic proportions. I hope that Sephora restocks this soon.
  • *Supergoop! Zincscreen SPF 40: Pure, lightweight physical sunscreen that works for both me and baby Johannah...yes, please! We've already been using it this season.
  • *Supergoop! Glowscreen SPF 40: I am loving this new launch for it's high SPF and tender, glowing finish that simply looks like well hydrated (and protected!) skin. I have a strong hunch this will be my spring and summer primer go-to.
  • *Supergoop! Defense Refresh (Re)setting Mist SPF 40: For on-the-go moments (I'm hopeful and confident we'll get there soon enough), this gorgeous setting and re-setting spray is a must. It provides great protection without disrupting makeup, which means there is no excuse to be sufficiently SPF'd all day.
  • Beauty Blender Rosie Posie Set: I needed more Beauty Blenders as I was on my last one...this set does not disappoint. It's a great deal and the violet hues are absolutely cheery!
  • *Deborah Lippmann Gel Lab Pro Nail Polish in Modern Love: Speaking of violet, this mauvey nude more color than my nails are currently used to but I'm really enjoying the creamy tone and long lasting finish. The nail polish is also free of a myriad of ingredients, which means my nails will be good to go whether polished or not...thanks, Deborah, for always being an innovator in the nail space.

The makeup.
// THE MAKEUP //
  • *Kevyn Aucoin Stripped Nude Skin Tint #6: This genius tint offers sheer to nearly medium coverage with a glowing skin finish that is excellent for no-makeup days. To enhance opacity, I like adding a touch of concealer to just the areas that I need it...I'm wearing shade #6 in the images at the end of this post to give you a sense of how it builds a natural looking canvas.
  • Erborian BB Crayon in Nude and Dore: I ordered these based on the recommendation of a couple of BP readers and am very happy with the customizable coverage and creamy consistency. I have to mix Nude and Dore to get a perfect match but can also apply them strategically to highlight and contour. They are versatile as can be...a true complexion find!
  • *Kevyn Aucoin Glass Glow Face Liquid Highlighter: I forgot how much I like this radiant gel...it can be worn alone on the high points of one's face or mixed with a powder (like blush or bronzer) for a creamy glow. **worn in the images at the end of this post.
  • *Kevyn Aucoin Neo-Blush in Rose Cliff: This gradient powder blush has a golden pink side that morphs into a true matte rose for endless cheek options. It's one of those universal hues that would look incredible on every skin tone. Try it and you'll see what I mean! **worn in the images at the end of this post.
  • Tom Ford Sheer Highlighting Duo in Reflects Gilt: This is my fourth compact of this luminescent powder...truly, there really may be nothing better than the gossamer radiance that this pairing imparts. Getting it at 20% off lessens the blow of this opulent addiction. ; ) **worn in the images at the end of this post.
  • ROEN 11:11 Eyeshadow Palette: A few of my readers told me that I would LOVE this palette and they were completely correct. The rose gold tones of all four shades are robust and flattering while being delightfully effortless to apply. I like to use my finger tips and then blend out with a small brush for more precision...this may be my favorite ROEN palette yet. **worn in the images at the end of this post.
  • ROEN Summer Disco Eyeshadow: Ahh, warm tones with a glittering finish in a single pan...this is the eyeshadow dream, no? I have a feeling that this bronze-meets-gold shade will be my one-step eye all summer.
  • Lancome LE LIPSTIQUE Lip Liner in Ideal: I have read countless reviews of the formula and particular shade and decided that the sale was the perfect time to give it a whirl. It is a deeper neutral that looks incredible with gloss (as worn in the images at the end of this post) and its creamy texture is hydrating and very long lasting. I'm so impressed that I'm picking this formula up in Bronzelle this weekend.
  • Givenchy Le Rose Perfecto Liquid Balm #10: This is an opalescent milky pink that feels amazing on the lips. The glowing finish is very pretty and my lips experience a touch of cooling (rather than stinging) tingle while bathing in a wash of moisture. It's excellent and I hope to pick up more shades once they're restocked! **worn in the images at the end of this post.

Charlotte Tilbury crystal elixir serum magic lip oil review
Magic Serum Crystal Elixir and *Magic Lip Oil...sandals by Fendi.
Earlier this week, I had a wonderful Zoom meeting with the Charlotte Tilbury team (and Charlotte herself!) to celebrate the launch of her new Magic Serum Crystal Elixir and *Magic Lip Oil. Already excited by the claims of the serum, I had ordered a bottle in advance (and also picked one up for my mom) and am so glad that I did.

The Charlotte Tilbury Magic Serum Crystal Elixir truly transforms the skin with every application. The lightweight formula--powered by an unexpected triune of Replexium, Vitamin C and Polyglutamic Acid--glides onto skin, bathing it in a light diffusing cloak of perfecting moisture that works immediately while benefits increase over time. In four days of trial (applying day and night...will need at least two weeks before sharing final impressions), I have noticed that my skin is extra clear, balanced, bouncy and glowy...cannot wait to continue to calibrate my results.

The *Charlotte Tilbury Magic Lip Oil could not have arrived at better time for my dry lips! The temperatures in Southern California have increased like crazy and the intense dose of moisture that makes lips look full and lush. The formula itself--dispensed by a crystal rollerball applicator--is dense without feeling heavy, long lasting without feeling sticky and imparts a lovely lucite luminosity that works great on its own while playing well with different lip color formulas. I am using this both day and night right now and am thrilled with my experience thus far.

A Sun Kissed Glimpse at the Pre-Summer 2020 SUQQU Collection + Other Beauty Newness I'm Loving

Sun kissed beauty.
Last week in Southern California, it was dark, cold (for us!) and rainy...this week, there is bountiful sun and temperatures are reaching 80+ degrees. The radiant change is beyond mood-lifting and has debuted just in time for the release of the glorious *SUQQU Pre-Summer 2020 Collection

This oft-sold out brand yet again delivers an astounding array of shades and textures, this time, to interplay with the ebullient solar energy of summer. Consequently, I'm excited to show you the collection as well as some additional skincare and beauty products (Tower 28! African Botanics! U Beauty! Parfums de Marly!) on heavy rotation as of late.

Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of the SUQQU Pre-Summer 2020 Collection in action along with some other current beauty favorites and the Bottom Line...

Introducing the *SUQQU Pre-Summer 2020 Collection
Launching on Thursday 4/23/20, I am thrilled to present elements from the devastatingly beautiful *SUQQU Pre-Summer 2020 Collection, which will be available at Selfridges and at Harrods on May 7th

Rife with extremely wearable sunset, tan and coral tones, this resplendent edit includes an eyeshadow palette, blush, and lip color in textures and hues that effortlessly enhance one's canvas while still looking entirely natural. They include the:
  • *Designing Color Eyes 131: This is the SUQQU quad of my dreams. The sunset shades--including a pale gold, rich persimmon, lavish violet pink and radiant cranberry--add an immediate splash of summer to the eyes. Buttery and buildable with absolutely no fallout or creasing, this palette will be a staple in my warm(er) weather routine and I implore you to pick it up before it sells out as it certainly will in a flash.
  • *Pure Color Blush 121: A soft, gilded tan with a hint of sophisticated luminosity, this blush can double as a light bronzer for skin that looks nonchalantly burnished.
  • *Vibrant Rich Lipstick 104: I am utterly entranced by this coral pink gem; the formula is moisturizing and creamy with stunning, lightweight opacity and the hue itself is face-brightening without overwhelming. I am an unapologetic nude lip devotee but find this vibrant shade to be an easy to wear and wildly appealing option. It looks lovely with tan and fair skin alike, making it an apropos addition to every lip color lover's wardrobe.

To complete the SUQQU-centric look at the end of this post, I employed the use of the *SUQQU Nude Wear Liquid Ex Foundation in shade 35 (my perfect match...reviewed HERE), the *SUQQU Pure Color Blush 10 Usumoya, the *SUQQU Shimmer Liquid Highlighter (reviewed HERE) and the *SUQQU Eyelash Mascara in Black (reviewed HERE).

The rest...
Skin + Hair Etc.
// SKIN + HAIR ETC. //
  • *U Beauty Skin Resurfacing Compound (also available at U Beauty and reviewed HERE): I am now on my second bottle of this brilliant skincare multitasker that tones, exfoliates and brightens with every application without the slightest hint of irritation. The combination of Vitamin C, Retinol and Hyaluronic Acid shrinks the look of pores, unevenness and fine lines while adding a masterful glow that truly gets better over time.
  • *Retrouve Revitalizing Eye Concentrate (reviewed HERE): I've been using this opulent eye formula since the beginning of the year and deeply appreciate the restorative texture (gel-meets-balm...I've never encountered anything like it) and subsequent results. It lifts, firms, hydrates, de-puffs and instantly brightens...no wonder this worthy splurge is often sold out!
  • *African Botanics Terre Noire: Bathe skin with a decadent blend of blend of African Marula, Moringa, frankincense, baobab, caffeine, Vitamin C, cypress and antioxidants galore for moisturized and clarified skin that glistens with vitality. I love that it can be used on face and body alike and consider it a post-shower indulgence of epic proportions.
  • *Raincry Restore Brush: I use this luxurious boar bristle brush to smooth and detangle while adding softness and shine. It freshens my mane with every stroke and delivers new life and overall health to my tresses.
  • *Parfums de Marly Delina (reviewed HERE): The rising temperatures beckon a lighter fragrance and I've returned to this creamy, warm juice, which possesses decadent notes of rhubarb and rose. It's fresh and feminine while balanced by a complex and sensual dry down that wears beautifully over the course of a long day. Oh, and the bottle is tres magnifique, no?  I'm excited to report that I'll be hosting a fun Instagram Live with Delina on 4/28...additional details, including time and how to join can be found at the end of the post (in the Bottom Line). Hope to see you there!
Tower 28 Bronzino Illuminating Bronzer swatches
*Tower 28 Bronzino Illuminating Bronzer
The *Tower 28 Bronzino Illuminating Bronzer is a brand new complexion launch that will create summertime skin in mere seconds. The clean formula features a creamy texture that is buildable from sheer to intense and the two bronze shades--West Coast (a light/medium golden bronze) and Best Coast (a deeper neutral to rosy toned tan)--are designed to compliment a spectrum of skin tones.

Once set, the 100% mineral pigment cream imparts a preternatural warmth and tender glow that makes skin look healthy and multidimensional.

I love applying it (wearing West Coast in the images at the end of this post) with a blending brush along the hollows of my cheeks and perimeters of my face for a sculpted, bronzed and radiant look that lasts the day...it's a soon-to-be summer staple!

  • Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter #4 (reviewed HERE): This tinted primer-meets-highlighter delivers an unparalleled "X Factor" to the skin. It's so integral to my routine that I am getting ready to break into bottle #4!
  • *Girlactik Luminous Face Powder in Medium (reviewed HERE): I use this radiant powder with buildable coverage to set makeup, as a mid-day touch up and even as foundation (applied with a wet beauty sponge). It is truly exceptional due to its versatility, gorgeous glowing finish and magnificent lasting power.
  • *Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Concealer (reviewed HERE): I am loving this smoothing concealer...it glides on like silk, covers darkness and imperfections and resists creasing for hours on end.
  • *City Beauty Lip Plumper in Tinseltown (reviewed HERE): My newest lip obsession, this pale pink shine increases volume and fullness while sealing in extreme moisture. I use it as a base for all lip color (as done in the images that follow) to come and wear it alone or over nude liner on minimal makeup days.
  • Surratt Beauty Artistique Cheek Brush: My everyday brush for all cheek color, I recommend this in nearly every blog post because it's my beauty best friend.
  • *Victoria Beckham Beauty Satin Kajal Eye Pencil in Black (reviewed HERE): Nothing works better on my lower waterline to add intense impact while resisting budging...try it and you'll see exactly what I mean.

  • Light wash denim shirt: I wear this shirt at least once a week...the clean faded blue feels fresh and versatile and I love the oversized energy of men's shirt to wear with shorts, skirts, jeans and as a bathing suit cover up. Oh, and this one is on sale!
  • Zella High Waist Bike Shorts: I have this particular cut in 4 shades...they hold everything in place while being breathable and extremely comfortable. Pair them with big tees and button downs alike.
  • Adidas Swift Run Sneaker in Ash Pearl: I picked these up on sale earlier this month and they are comfort galore. Adidas always has a bountiful space for one's toes which my high heel-abused feet appreciate and this nude cleverly extends the length of legs...they're the perfect warm weather tennis shoe.
