Neutrals City: Laura Mercier La Palette Naturelle, Fresh Oribe, an Upcoming Complexion Multitasker from Chantecaille and My Favorite CdPB Lip Mix

Sometimes a palette comes along that is beautiful inside and out, and this beauty is furthered by its worthy cause. Such is the case for the *Laura Mercier La Palette Naturelle; 100% of the proceeds from the month of September will be donated to the Laura Mercier Ovarian Cancer Fund to research a cure.

Consequently, today's post features this brilliant palette, along with a fresh formula from Oribe, a soon-to-launch Chantecaille complexion stick and a recent go-to lip mix from Clé de Peau Beauté.

Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of the products in action as well the Bottom Line...

The Laura Mercier La Palette Naturelle
Rife with wearable hues to highlight, bronze and blush the face, the *Laura Mercier La Palette Naturelle offers a fresh landscape of flatting shades that create a full face in seconds. I love using the soft bronze shade to gently sculpt and warm my face, adding a mix of the pinky blushes on the apples of my cheeks and sweeping a blend of the two darker highlighters on the high points of my face.

The powders are finely milled, sublimely smooth and buildable for a healthy and ethereal look that's completely customizable, making this a skin-blessing and heartwarming palette well worth the pursuit in the month of September!

Shades include:
  • Pale pearl highlight
  • Glowing bronze
  • Radiant golden champagne highlight
  • Matte neutral pink blush
  • Intense pale topaz highlight
  • Luminous peachy pink blush

Skincare + haircare etc.
// SKINCARE + HAIRCARE // A mix of new launches and tried and tested favorites that take self-care to the next level.
  • *Oribe Serene Scalp Exfoliating Scrub (also available at Neiman Marcus): This revolutionary formula deep cleans the scalp with exfoliating beads and a blend of alpha hydroxy acids that leaves my head and hair feeling insanely invigorated. I imagine that everyone could benefit from this new launch as it eradicates buildup in a single wash
  • *Oribe Run-Through Detangling Primer (also available at Neiman Marcus): Nothing detangles my thick and long hair as effortlessly as this formula; it pampers hair without weighing it down and I wish never to be without it.
  • *Oribe Flat Brush (also available at Neiman Marcus): New in my haircare, routine, this opulent brush is excellent for smoothing one's tresses while mitigating breakage and frizz. So good.
  • *Bastide Elixir II Nourishing Oil Face and Decollete: I have been thinking a lot about my skin from the neck down as I wasn't always as diligent with sunscreen as I am now and I feel like the skin at my chest/decollate needs extra reinforcements these days. This nourishing oil feels lightweight yet effective...a few drops go a very long way.
  • *Augustinus Bader The Rich Cream: I've been using this cream diligently for almost two pump day and night for bright, smooth and decadently plumped skin.
  • *Maison Francis Kurkdjian Baccarat Rouge 540 Scented Hair Mist: A lightweight iteration of my favorite fragrance of life, I love misting this on second-day hair for a sensorial pick-me-up.
  • *Koh Gen Do Cleansing Spa Water Cloths: I always have a pack of these gentle yet effective wipes within an arm's reach...the thermal waters masterfully cleanse without stripping skin. If you haven't yet tried them, I implore you to do so.

The complete look.
// THE COMPLETE LOOK // Heavy on the neutrals, this look works for any occasion and wears beautifully from day to night.
  • *Sisley-Paris Phyto Teint Ultra Eclat in Sand 2+ (reviewed HERE): I applied a single pump of this second skin foundation and blended it out with a dampened beauty sponge. The finish and lasting power are brilliantly formidable.
  • *Chantecaille Real Skin Sticks: I used a mix of shades #1 and #4 as an under eye concealer and used a touch of #9 as a light contour in the hollows of my cheeks and perimeters of my face. This shade trio is extremely versatile and I can't wait for this silky smooth and buildable formula to officially launch!
  • *Laura Mercier La Palette Naturelle: I applied the bronze tone over the areas that I contoured and blended a mix of the pinky blushes on the apples of my cheeks, finishing the face with a healthy dose of the golden pearl highlighter on the high points of my face.
  • Roen 75 Degree Warm Palette (reviewed HERE): I am still smitten with this fascinating eye palette, which features a quartet of radiant warm tones that can be applied with one's fingertips, making it one fo the most carefree eyeshadow formulas in my collection. The slightly wet finish does not compromise color payoff and I get 6-8 hours of crease-free wear.
  • *Hourglass Scattered Light Glitter Eyeshadow in Rapture (reviewed HERE): I blended a bit of this cranberry gleam in the crease of my eyes for additional impact...I have been a devotee of this formula since its launch and still use multiple shades in the line up each week.
  • *Clé de Peau Beauté Radiant Liquid Rouge Matte in a mix of Cream Crush and Nectar (all shades swatched and reviewed HERE): This formula is cushiony and hydrating while imparting a velvety matte finish that makes lips look full and lush. I love adding a touch of the vibrant coral pink Nectar in the center of my lips and then going over it with the pinky nude Cream Crush...the result is neutral perfection.
  • *Sisley-Paris So Volume Mascara (reviewed HERE): Two coats for dramatically full and lengthened lashes.

Jouer Metamorphosis Palette, BY TERRY Hyaluronic Tinted Powders, a Flattering Fall Dress and Some CosBar Favorites

Introducing the *Jouer Metamorphosis Palette
I hope your September is going well! In addition to the profound joy of motherhood and teaching college, I have been swamped with tons of work --from serving as host at the International Congress of Esthetics this past weekend in Long Beach and tenure committee meetings (I finish in the spring!) to beauty events (there's a brilliant new La Prairie eye cream) and lots of writing, the first half of this month has been a hectic delight.

Today, I am excited to share a few stunning new launches, including the *Jouer Metamorphosis Palette, *BY TERRY Hyaluronic Tinted Hydra-Powders a random dress discovery and some favorites from Cosbar, just in time for its Fall into Beauty campaign (now through 9/14).

Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of everything in natural sunlight as well as the Bottom Line...

The *Jouer Metamorphosis Palette
Rife with classic and wearable shade designed to be all one needs from day to night, the *Jouer Metamorphosis Palette is a transforming wonder. Buttery and blendable, the six eye shadows come in a balance of matte and satin finishes and the neutral pearl highlight and radiant pink blush jointly deliver instant life to the face. If you love neutrals with a twist (the radiant gold bronze and soft thistle hues are genius), then the *Jouer Metamorphosis Palette is a must for the coming months. The shades, which flatter a spectrum of skin tones are absolute effortlessness. Additionally, for every palette purchased now through 10/10/19, 15% of of the net proceeds will be donated to the Chrysalis Organization!

In conjunction with two new shades of the ultra-hydrating *Essential Lip Enhancer Shine Balm in the deep cheery Mariposa and cool baby pink Monarch. Both tones feature sheer but buildable color and a rich and shiny finish...I like mixing them together for a customizable pink with plenty of depth.

All three pieces can be purchased as a bundle, too.

Newness from BY TERRY!
Next, I have been eagerly awaiting the release of the *BY TERRY Hyaluronic Tinted Hydra-Powders since hearing about there impending arrival a few months ago. This brilliant spin on the cult-classic translucent *BY TERRY Hyaluronic Hydra-Powder features a tinted veil of coverage (in eight shades) that blurs pores and sets makeup without the slightest hint of typical powdery dryness, making them apropos for all skin types including mature skin and dry skin.

The formula is revolutionary to say the least and, when extra time allows me to feel inspired,  I start with a dime-sized amount of the smoothing *BY TERRY Hyaluronic Hydra-Primer and then use the *BY TERRY Dual-Ended Face Brush to apply 300 Medium Fair as an all over setting powder, shade 1 Rosy Light under my eyes and shade 500 Medium Dark as a contour tone around the perimeters of my face.

The powder are truly like a perfecting filter that keeps make in place for hours on end and I will be featuring their application in my next video tutorial...stay tuned!

*Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Foundation
I have been wearing the *Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Foundation (initially reviewed HERE) nonstop as of late; its medium coverage and ability to perform flawlessly for 10+ hours has made it a default option for me as it's been hot and my days for the past week have been very long with little to no time for touchups.

After purchasing my initial bottle, I recently received two more shades from Beautylish and am excited to share side by side swatches for those of you who may share my skin tone (@NC 25-27). While 7.5 Neutral has been my perfect late-summer (the tannest my skin is going to be) match, 6 Neutral (which is a touch lighter and more yellow) and 5.5 Neutral (which is even lighter yet still olive in undertone) will be befitting options for me as the temperatures drop and my skin gets lighter. Hope the swatches of this phenomenal formula are helpful!

The complete look.
  • *Sisley-Paris Double Tenseur: I love this primer as a lifting and firming base for's lightweight and truly does something special to the skin.
  • *Clé de Peau Beauté Concealer in Almond: Just a sweep along my orbital region masterfully hides the lack of sleep I've encountered's a holy grail for many for a reason!
  • *Jenny Patinkin Domed Multi Blender Brush: I keep this brush in my makeup bag as it adeptly works for blending concealer and shadow alike.
  • Hourglass Bronzer in Radiant Bronze Light: This bronzer easily ranks amongst my top three favorite formulas as it applies like velvet, looks natural and never turns orange. I applied to the perimeters of my face and along the hollows of my cheeks.
  • *Westman Atelier Baby Cheeks Blush Stick in Chouchette: Ahh...this new shade in the Baby Cheeks lineup is pure bliss. The lush pinky peach tone instantly brightens the face while making skin look subtly lit from within. I also love using it on eyes and even lips for a monochromatic effect.
  • Pat McGrath Lipliner in Done Undone (reviewed HERE): This lip liner is my dream color as it lets you over line inconspicuously and it pairs well with every shade in my repertoire. Get won't regret it.
  • Tom Ford Gloss Luxe Moisturizing Lip Gloss in Ravish and Love Lust (also available at Beautylish): After many request from BP readers to review this new lip gloss formulation, I settled on and picked up two shades that embrace my love of neutrals (Ravish) and baby pinks (Love Lust). The formula is sublimely hydrating and only a touch sticky (which doesn't bother me...tack lends to longevity of wear in my experience) and the color applies sheerly though both of these shades are milky enough to be seen on the lips. I highly recommend both of these shades and can't wait to try some more!
  • *Oribe Gold Lust Dry Shampoo: A generous spray of this miracle formula into my second-day hair and bouncy volume is's a lifesaver in both the travel and full sizes and smells divine.
  • *Makeup bag via Cosbar: Currently, Cosbar is having a Fall Into Beauty event, offering this chic and roomy makeup bag filled with 16 deluxe samples with every purchase of $200 or more. This promotion runs only through 9/14 so act fast to replenish your beauty and skincare must-haves.

Style notes featuring the Madewell Dot Smocked Shoulder Dress
  • Brown Tee Shirt: I rarely wear brown but the casual cut of this tee called to me and I love it for an easy dose of fall warmth.
  • Madewell Dot Smocked Shoulder Dress: Compelled by the color and the price (it's on sale!) I bought this dress in a size 4 without even trying it on and am so glad that I did! The fit and flare styling is classic and the length on my frame (I'm 5'9") is totally work appropriate. Can't wait to dress this up and down.
  • Slip Silk Skinny Hair Ties: I always have at least one of these on my wrist as they hold hair in place without causing damage and good.
  • Tissot Lovely Bracelet Watch: Still my daily go-to, this watch is the perfect fusion of jewelry and functionality.
