My Sephora All Access Recommendations and a First Look at New Surratt Beauty Launches for Spring

I purchased the Charlotte Tilbury Glowgasm and Lovegasm Palettes and Charlotte Tilbury Glowgasm Beauty Highlighter Wand in Peachgasm the instant they became available and am so happy to have them as a part of my makeup menagerie.

It’s rife with four shades of power. It’s designed to bronze/contour, highlight and blush, the Charlotte Tilbury Glowgasm and Lovegasm Palettes are endlessly pretty while being equally utilitarian.  Glowgasm is apropos for fair and light skin tones and Lovegasm is best for medium, tan and deep skin tones.
Although both palettes are stunning, I have found that Lovegasm is the best match for my light-medium olive skin. The colors are richer on my canvas (especially the blushes). I only have to apply a little to achieve the look I am after. If you have an affinity for multitasking products as I do, this LE palette is a must. Also, I adore it and am currently contemplating a back up for both myself and my mom!
I am already a major fan of the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Beauty Light Wand (I’m on tube #3). I was excited to try a peachier version as represented by the Glowgasm Beauty Highlighter Wand in Peachgasm. The amount of color payoff that this particular illuminator has surprised me as it’s quite pronounced. That being said, when applied sparingly with one’s pinky or ring finger, it imparts the prettiest apricot glow. I’m pleased that I purchased it…wish I would have waited for the Sephora discount, though ; )

// SKINCARE //

In my line of business, both in the beauty industry and as a college professor, I often get asked to recommend a single skincare line that can work for all skin types, ages and genders that exists at an accessible price point without compromising efficacy. Tall order? Perhaps. But Skin Inc (reviewed HERE) is on the top of my list as it meets all of the aforementioned criteria. Some of my favorite formulas include:

Mixed Serum

Late last year, I mixed my own serum. Customization for skin specific skin concerns is one of the brand’s chief distinguishments. I found after taking the comprehensive quiz online that my skin would benefit from a mix of *Skin Inc Licorice Serum and *Skin Inc Chorella Serum (for brightening and reducing darkness and discolorationand *Skin Inc Collagen Serum (for combatting fine lines and wrinkles). This bespoke dose gives my skin everything it needs and nothing it doesn’t!

For days when my skin needs an extra boost, I love the *Skin Inc My Daily Dose of Glow. It harnesses the power of Vitamin A and hyaluronic acid to increase cell turnover while maintaining moisture levels (no peeling!).

Skin Mist and Dew

When I’m in a rush, the *Skin Inc Pure Serum Mist, can be applied in a snap and the anti-redness properties help to calm stressed and irritated skin.

The *Skin Inc Pure Recovery DewRich in Japanese onsen water, this formula soothes the skin, moisturizes, combats redness and imparts a dewy finish for skin that looks rested and well nourished.

I am still a devotee to the spa-level results of the Skin Inc Tri-Light and find that the *Skin Inc Pure Deepsea Hydrating Mask is the perfect companion to help the device glide across my skin and increase moisture in the process.

Packed with Vitamin C and Licorice Extract, the *Skin Inc Get Glowin’ Brightening Mask illuminates skin in the span of a 10-minute treatment. It feels luxurious and the results are brilliant!

Exfoliation

Ever a proponent of exfoliation, I use the *Skin Inc Pure Revival Peel couple of times a month to gently remove dead skin without disrupting the integrity of my canvas. Somehow it seriously smoothes without the usage of physical exfoliants, making it an excellent choice for those with sensitive skin.

For an intensive skin treatment with overnight results, the travel-friendly *Skin Inc Prep & Seal Set takes two Skin Inc best sellers (the *Skin Inc Pure Revival Peel and *Skin Inc Pure Deepsea Hydrating Mask) and makes them perfectly portable…skincare routine while in-flight? I daresay yes!

Face and base.

// FACE + BASE //

Easy formulas that take the canvas from pristine (no makeup) to perfected (a high-performance base and concealer) and then back to pristine yet again.

*Koh Gen Do Spa Water Cleansing Cloths

I have been recommending these cleansing cloths since the early days of Beauty Professor (going on 8 years!). I am still as smitten with them today as I was then. They cleans one’s canvas without stripping or drying the skin and the portable packs are exceptionally convenient. I haven’t met a single beauty aficionado that doesn’t love these cloths…try them and you’ll see exactly what I mean.

Dior Backstage Face and Body Foundation

 I love the thin yet buildable consistency of this versatile foundation. Also, I found a perfect match in 3WO, which works well for light-medium skin with an olive undertone. The formula is resistant to creasing and settling while possessing impressive longevity, especially in warm and humid environments.

*Lawless Concealer Morning After Concealer

This concealer launched last week and am I over the moon for its unusual whipped texture and otherworldly coverage that somehow looks like nothing on the skin. The 100% clean ingredients work synergistically to banish dark circles and discoloration while still looking natural on the skin (I can wear both Dawn and Almond Milk, swatched below). Having a baby definitely gives any concealer a run for its money and this one is impressive, indeed.

Surratt Beauty Artistique Cheek and Highlight Brushes

Troy Surratt’s brushes are, in my experience, the absolute best in the business; soft yet sturdy, opulent yet apropos for daily usage, they are well worth the pursuit. I use these two for all of my bronzers, blushes and highlighters and they have lasted me 5+ years of daily action. I cannot recommend them enough!

Natasha Denona Biba Palette from Sephora All Access Recommendations
The *Natasha Denona Biba Palette

// EYES //

When you have a masterfully adept neutral palette in your possession, the only other elements required are brow gel and mascara.

*Natasha Denona Biba Palette

As I mentioned last week, this palette is receiving major accolades from independent reviewers Internet-wide. The shades embody the ultimate expanse of neutral tones (read: look good on everyone) in a diverse range of mattes and shimmers.  Because the formulas are so buttery, smooth and crease-resistant, not to mention ridiculous easy to wear, I find myself reaching for it multiple times a week. Highly recommended

Tom Ford Brow Gel in Chestnut

I have purchased 5 of these gems in the last few years and couldn’t be happier with the way this particular formula treats my low-maintenance brows. You get depth, color, feathery shaping and immense hold in a single swipe…in my opinion, there’s currently nothing better than this on the market. Get it.

Hourglass Caution Extreme Mascara

This mascara is easily in my top three mascara formulas; it builds lashes to maximum levels (both volume and length) and resists flaking and smudging for hours on end. For reference, I am on tube #3.

Dyson Hairdryer from Sephora All Access Recommendations
Dyson Hairdryer
purchased my Dyson Hairdryer three years ago and it’s still one of my best super expensive beauty tool purchase! This dryer truly lives up to the hype; it’s quiet, dries hair in 1/3 the time, leaves hair smooth and shiny (minimal heat damage) and travels well, too. It’s a fabulous Mother’s Day or graduation gift and the sale is the perfect opportunity to invest in something extremely worthwhile while saving a significant amount!

// LIPS //

I’ve been leaning towards sheer and relaxed pinks and nudes as of late and four of my favorites in this color palette include:

Bite Beauty Crystal Creme Shimmer Lip in Rose Glace

 Demonstrated in my most recent video tutorial, this rosy peach confection with a pearl finish is moisturizing and long lasting while bathing lips in the most gorgeous glow.

Pat McGrath Lust Lip Gloss in Pale Fire Nectar

 Baby pink gloss with fiery pink microshimmer? Yes, please!

Pat McGrath Lust Lip Gloss in Flesh Fantasy

 A creamy, barely there beige with enough opacity to do its job…it’s J-Lo nude lips incarnate.

Marc Jacobs Enamored Hydrating Lip Gloss Stick in Sugar Sugar

 Hydrating like a balm and luminous like a gloss, this stick in a gorgeous pale neutral tone is the best of both worlds.

Resplendent newness from Surratt Beauty.
Just recently, the esteemed Surratt Beauty launched two new formulas in its permanent lineup.

The *Surratt Beauty Torche Lumiere sticks are infused with genuine diamond and gold dust for a exceptionally refined luminosity that feels like a weightless gossamer veil and makes skin look unequivocally lit from within. Unlike the flashlight-level illuminators that have become de rigueur, the Torche Lumiere formula possesses a refined and sophisticated glow that flatters skin of all types and tones. Diamante is a glimmering champagne, Rose Diamante is an incandescent baby pink and Dor is the neutral gold of which you’ve been dreaming.

Designed to deliver a brightening dose of light to one’s eyes, the genius, dual-sided *Surratt Beauty Inner Light Batons come in three creamy complexion-toned shades that instantly correct discoloration while bathing skin in a incandescent effect achieved by a shimmery coordinating powder. Perle is excellent for enhancing the whites of one’s eyes, the peachy-neutral Effervesce works well to counter balance darkness and Mousseux achieves a commensurate brightening effect on darker skin tones.
All in all, both launches are innovative and effective complexion perfectors you didn’t know you needed but now cannot live without!

Style notes.

// STYLE NOTES //

Topshop Boxy Tee

 I bought this cotton tee in 4 shades. I have been wearing them nonstop; the roomy cut is comfortable and chic and washes well. At under $20, it’s a veritable steal.

Agolde Dee Shorts

 I’m learning that when I find something with the most perfect fit, I will likely buy it in multiples if given a reasonable opportunity.  Such is the case for these brilliant shorts. I now have three pairs and will be wearing them constantly in the months to come.

Gold Hoops

Clean, simple and timeless, they’re an oft-essential part of my style routine.
