Sunlit Splendor: The New Clé de Peau Beauté Radiant Cushion Foundation, Jouer Rose Gold Collection, MAC Studio Fix Concealer and Tom Ford Satin Matte Lip Color

Sunlit splendor.
The remaining days of summer (on the calendar, at least, as my fall semester is in full swing) have been rife with sunshine and I took advantage of a particularly resplendent afternoon to capture some recent launches including the *Cle de Peau Beauté Radiant Cushion Foundation, *Jouer Rose Gold Collection, *MAC Studio Fix 24-Hour Concealer and Tom Ford Satin Matte Lip Color.
Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of the products in action as well as the Bottom Line…

Introducing the *Cle de Peau Beauté Radiant Cushion Foundation
I’ve been testing the *Cle de Peau Beauté Radiant Cushion Foundation (also available at Barney’s NY) and am positively thrilled with the luxuriously innovative formula. Incredibly lightweight yet moisturizing, this skincare-infused base gives me medium coverage with a HD (read: it’s remarkably difficult to see on the face, though the results are perfecting nonetheless) glowy finish that never degrades to “oily.”
In fact, this may be one of the most long wearing formulas in the current CdPB foundation lineup. I have tested it during two fairly hot and humid 12+ hour teaching days this week and haven’t needed to touch it up the entire day. It’s truly that good.
My match is O30 (which, in my experience, is a touch darker in this formula than in the CdPB The Foundation) and if you are NC 25-30, then this will likely be your best match as well!

Favorite elements from the *Jouer Rose Gold Collection
The *Jouer Rose Gold Collection capitalizes on one of the most beautiful colors in existence. Although there are 8 pieces in my collection, I am particularly smitten with the following three:
  • The *Rose Gold Matte and Shimmer Eyeshadow Palette:  One look at this palette and a seasoned eyeshadow wearer cannot help but immediately see its merit. The carefully curated combination of matte and shimmer shades work so well together to create a host of eye looks–from demure daytime to sultry evening–in mere moments. The formula is buttery smooth and crease resistant while possessing magnificent color payoff…I know I’ll reaching for this constantly this season.
  • The *Creme Eyeshadow Crayon in Rose Gold: A gorgeous peachy pink with immense buildability, this lush cream shadow crayon glides on with ease; give it 10 seconds and it’s set for the day–no creasing or fading–just subtly luminous color.
  • The *Blush Bouquet in Rose Gold: Two coordinating shades of warm toned pink interplay with stunning harmony. The left side features a glowing warm apricot pink hue and the right side balances things out with a demi-matte petal pink tone. Wear them alone or layer them with wild abandon (as done in the images at the end of the post); in either case, your cheeks will look naturally flushed and lit-from-within.

Face finishers.
To finish the face, I love the *Charlotte Tilbury Bronze & Glow in Medium/Dark (reviewed HERE) to gently contour and warm up the complexion…the true tan brown is addictively good. Additionally, I strategically added a bit of the soon-to-be-released *MAC Studio Fix 12-Hour Smooth Wear Concealer in NC 40 (more details and swatches below) to banish any residual darkness.
In terms of highlighter, I’ve been experimenting with the Shiseido Aura Dew Face, Eyes and Lip in Solar, which provides highly reflective radiance with a cushiony cream-meets-gel-meets-powder (upon dry down) texture. Although I am drowning in illuminators over here at BPHQ, I can confirm that I don’t own another formula quite like this one. Solar is a flattering gossamer gold and I like using my ring finger to tap it into the high points of my face for an ethereal effect that stays in place all day.
Two coats of the marvelous *Hourglass Caution Extreme Mascara (reviewed HERE) and my face (outside of lips, of course) is finished!

*MAC Studio Fix 12-Shour Smooth Wear Concealer
Currently available in the UK and launching stateside soon, the new *MAC Studio Fix 12-Hour Smooth Wear Concealer comes in an insane array of shades to match every undertone and complexion and the flexibly, hydrating formula is formidably long lasting without creasing, cracking or migrating…I am excited to share swatches of all available shades below:

Lip color newness.
In terms of lips, I recently ordered two fresh shades during the Sephora Beauty Insider Appreciation Event (discussed HERE) and am over the moon with their respective pink appeal.
The Bobbi Brown Crushed Lip Color in Baby (also available at Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom) alled my name for a couple of reasons; it’s slightly deeper pink hue (don’t let the “pale pink” color description mislead you) is a late-summer must with my complexion and its moniker, Baby, signifies a whole new level of meaning for me these days. The lipstick is creamy and hydrating yet applies like a stain…it’s initially sheer but can be built up to beautiful medium coverage.
Next. the new Tom Ford Satin Matte Lipstick in Blow Up (also available at Neiman Marcus) is pinky nude perfection. Velvety smooth and delightfully non-drying (for a matte), this highly-pigmented, full-coverage wonder is reminiscent of the 1960s and looks stunning on its own or layered over a deeper color. I can’t wait to try more shades in this formula!
In the images at the end of this post, I mixed the two shades for a bespoke pink result.
Finally, I combined my new lip color procurements with my favorite Chanel hand cream…the myriad of stellar reviews tells me I am not alone in its adoration. It’s a purse must!

Style notes.
// STYLE NOTES //
  • The Upside Leopard Sweatshirt: Currently on sale and super comfy, this lightweight pullover runs large (I’m wearing a size small) and is warm, yet breathable with a French terry lining!
  • Striped Tee Dress: A collision of patterns that somehow works, I am wearing the sweatshirt over a t-shirt dress that I picked up a few seasons ago but I found a very similar option that’s currently on sale.

Last look.

Bottom Line: I hope you enjoyed this sun-drenched new launch overview and would love to know which products caught your eye…do tell!
Good things ahead, including a fresh video, a nursery tour and a host of new products procurements…xx and more soon,

a new reader here! love your posts and have been catching up on the older ones…

tried samples of cdp fluid, cream, and the foundation and enjoy the luminosity and weightlessness of the foundation. I was planning on buying it until seeing this post. How do you compare the cushion and the foundation? pros and cons? Thank you!

    Hi BP,

Thanks as always for the wonderfully helpful swatches and reviews! Any thoughts on how the CdP Radiant Cushion compares to The Foundation?

Hi! I love the leopard and the stripes together-you look beautiful as always. I had a question-do you find the CdP cushion to be similar at all to "The Foundation"? I love that formula and if it lasts longer than that and has as beautiful a finish I may pull the trigger. Also, which of the two do you find more moisturizing? -Jessi M
