Introducing the *BY TERRY Nude-Expert Duo Stick Foundation, now available at Beautylish
I’ve known about the existence of the brand new *BY TERRY Nude-Expert Duo Stick Foundation (also available at Space NK) since March and am over the moon to finally be able to share thoughts and swatches of this glorious base formula now that it’s available!
Portable, creamy with buildable coverage, this foundation possesses a built in highlighter for an unprecedentedly even and radiant canvas in seconds.
Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of the foundation in action as well as the Bottom Line…

Half foundation, half highlighter, for a custom, radiant finish that still provides coverage and lasts the day.
The *BY TERRY Nude-Expert Duo Stick Foundation (also available at Space NK) is the first cream foundation that I’ve encountered that pairs buildable coverage with an incandescent highlighter, side-by-side in a solid stick format. Velvety smooth with a demi-matte finish, the opaque foundation side glides onto skin and yields light-medium coverage that can be built to medium-full with another pass. The highlight side of the stick is softly radiant rather than shimmery and the combination creates ethereal skin that looks perfected, yet entirely natural. The formula possesses the same fragrance that most BY TERRY bases are known for and because I have had positive experience with all the other BY TERRY foundations, I find the fragrance mood-lifting and enjoyable but everyone’s preferences will, of course, vary.
When it comes to application, I prefer to apply both sides of the stick equally–working from the center of the face outward–and revel in even and glowy skin. Coverage is easy to build and, in the interim, pores, fine lines and discoloration are masterfully and inconspicuously blurred. In terms of lasting power, I get 7-8 hours of flawless wear (no need to set with powder in my experience) and love the fact that the stick is an effortless addition to my makeup bag.
All in all, it’s one of my favorite BY TERRY bases to date!

The complete look.
// THE COMPLETE LOOK //
  • *BY TERRY Nude-Expert Duo Stick Foundation in Honey Beige (also available at Space NK): Following moisturizing, I simultaneously applied both sides of this stick in the center of my face and worked outward, blending everything in with dampened Beauty Blender for clean continuity.
  • *Sisley-Paris Concealer #3 (reviewed HERE): With a new baby in town, I’ve been subsisting on 3-4 hours of sleep a night and this concealer (a fusion of skincare and color) works to correct my dark circles and puffiness in an instant. It’s well worth the investment as a single tube has lasted me over a year.
  • *Givenchy Bronzer #4 (reviewed HERE): I swept this along the hollows of my cheeks and perimeters of my face for warmth and dimension.
  • Westman Atelier Super Loaded Tinted Highlight: This color-rich illuminator is the first product from Westman Atelier and, after testing the formula for a week, I cannot wait to try more products from the line. The cream highlighter smells vaguely reminiscent of a tropical vacation (in all the best possible ways) and the peachy bronze tone is unlike anything I currently have my collection. I tapped it along the high points of my face (looks incredible with a light summer tan) and the tender gleam it imparts is unprecedented.
  • Hourglass Scattered Light Glitter Eyeshadow in Aura (reviewed HERE): Using my finger tip, I gently pressed this light neutral pink into my upper lid for an opaque and illuminated eye. The Scattered Light shadows are pure genius…highly recommended.
  • *Karl Lagerfeld + ModelCo Eyeliner (reviewed HERE): My current liquid eyeliner of choice, this inky black stays in place all day (once it dries down). I used it to create a mini-cat eye in the images at the end of this post.
  • BY TERRY Lash-Expert Twist Brush Mascara (also available at Beautylish and reviewed HERE): Two coats creates some of the fullest, fluffiest, deepest and longest lashes in town…please try this formula if you haven’t already done so!
  • *ReVive Intensite Lip Balm: Plush and nourishing, this wildly hydrating lip balm feels like a treatment, gently cooling lips and providing a pillow of subtly shiny protection that simply feels incredible. I used it as a priming step for the lip color that follows.
  • Tom Ford Lip Sculpter in Bait: Captivated by the beautiful peachy pink-meets coral hue of this new launch, I picked up this lip liner after a very quick swatching session. The formula is creamy and moisturizing with lovely color payoff and I adore the fact that these particular lip liners are retractable as I despise having to use a sharpener every day. I applied this along the perimeters of my lips and filled in my lower lip for a lasting wash of color.
  • Clé de Peau Beauté Radiant Rouge #11 in Lingerie: One of my favorite lip colors of life, I swept this quintessential peachy beige over the liner for a soft neutral finish that lasts the entire day (got to love a lipstick, lip stain, lip gloss hybrid) while keeping my lips hydrated and bouncy looking
  • Nike Rally Sweatshirt (reviewed HERE): The soft grey material is rivaled only by the clever funnel collar which makes wearing a sweatshirt feel fresh and innovative. It’s really one of the most appealing sweatshirts I’ve ever owned…so good (and still in stock at Nordstrom).
  • Burberry Heritage 54 MM Sunglasses (reviewed HERE): I bought these during the Nordstrom sale and cannot recommend them enough…the style is modern yet classic and, as of publish date, are still in stock!
  • Levi’s cutoffs: I wear cutoffs for 2/3’s of the year so it’s essential to have a few pairs on rotation.
  • Gold hoops: A daily staple in my jewelry routine, I like that these are neither too big nor too small.

On a related note, I revisited the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (only 4 days left…my curated shopping guides HERE and HERE) and picked up a few key baby items (we didn’t have a baby when I first did my shopping in mid-July!)…they include:

  • Petit Pehr Pop Up Bins: I still haven’t decided what I will use these for…toys? Laundry? Something else? All I know is that they’re adorable and match our decor!
  • Lorena Canals Cotton Rug: Super quality and perfect neutral colors make this a marvelous addition to the nursery.
  • Babymoov Pop Up Playpen: I love the idea of a quick-set up playpen…perfect for travel and our living room alike, I have a feeling we’ll use this a lot.
  • Babymoov Anti-UV Tent: Perfect for beach and backyard days that will extend well beyond summer for us, this portable tent has UV protection…start them with SPF early!
  • Steve Madden Sock Booties: OK, technically not for the baby but I missed these the first time around and they have stellar reviews, a reasonable heel and are in the most perfect shade of tan. I ordered a 7.5.

The By Terry foundation has no colours deeper than the lightest part of the dark spectrum? Not a single in the deep spectrum? Or was this missing shades?

    Hi Rachel!

Congratulations on your baby girl! I'm so excited to try this foundation! I currently wear Dior Air Nude in #21 and I don't know if I should go with 3, 5, 7, or 9? I'm not as tan as you are but definitely
have the yellow undertones. I was getting ready to order #7 but then once on beautylish the swatches look really different and dark. Do you have any recommendations?
