Video: My Shining Moment + A Current Makeup Bag Spill

#MyShiningMoment.
Happy Friday, lovelies! If asked to distill my professional life into three key words, I would choose  writing, public speaking and, of course, makeup; although these three elements are not inherently connected, they comprise my day-to-day pursuits and I couldn’t be more grateful for the diversity of the combination.
When the team behind Clear Eyes (I’ve been an avid user for years) approached me earlier this year to create a video focused on “my shining moment,” I was both honored and excited to find a way to share the fusion of my academic pursuits and quality time here with the Beauty Professor community! The video–crafted with footage filmed by my mom, brother and dad (it’s a family affair around here)–was adeptly edited by the Clear Eyes team and can currently be seen on Clear Eyes website.
To commemorate the launch of the final product, it felt right to share a current makeup bag spill with swatches aplenty, because, as said in my video, I want Beauty Professor to consistently serve as a resource its loyal readers.
Kindly scroll on for the video, details on how to enter the #MyShiningMoment contest, makeup bag spill and images of the products in action as well as the Bottom Line…

// MAKEUP BAG SPILL // A  few classic favorites and a plethora of new beauty discoveries for your viewing pleasure!
  • *Burberry Large Zip-Top Technical Nylon Pouch in Burgundy Red: Top-of-the-line construction and a spacious interior make this a luxurious yet utilitarian makeup bag option.
  • *Maya Chia The Eye Achiever: Launching soon, this soothing formula minimizes the look of fine lines and wrinkles around the orbital area with completely clean ingredients…excellent for portability, the roller ball applicator is pure genius.
  • *Koh Gen Do Macro Vintage T3 Premium Oil: Boasting an elixir of high performance, essential oils this small but mighty bottle creates bright, heathy and luminous skin on contact.
  • *Sisley-Paris Instant Eclat Instant Glow Primer: I am loving the illumining effect of this sheer and incandescent formula.  Just a dime-sized amount smoothed over my skin creates a primed and subtly glowy canvas; foundation smooths over with ease and locks in place for hours on end while skin continues to look radiantly natural.
  • *Antonym Skin Esteem Foundation in Nude: With 100% clean ingredients, this new foundation formula features buildable medium to full coverage, anti-aging skincare benefits and a long-lasting satin matte finish that–as should be the case for all worthy foundation formulas–simply looks like really good skin. Nude is a highly befitting match for my NC25-27 skin.
  • *NudeStix Concealer Pencil in Light 2: Ultra creamy yet lightweight, this concealer brightens up the under eye region without the slightest trace of creasing…tres magnifique!
  • *Kevyn Aucoin Matte Bronzer in Desert Nights (reviewed HERE): A swipe of this true brown along the hollows of my cheek bones and perimeters of my face adds warmth and definition in seconds.
  • Burberry My Burberry LE Blush Palette: I ordered this sight unseen and am so glad I followed my heart with this blush; aside from being visually opulent in the compact, the powder itself is it is a dusty rose pink with an overspray of illumination for a glowy pink cheek. Due to the depth and buildabilty of this particular shade, I suspect it would perform well (e.g., show up) on a spectrum of skin tones, certifying this LE gem an entirely worthy pursuit.
  • *Surratt Beauty Artistique Cheek Brush: Always within reach, nothing applies cheek color better.
  • Victoria Beckham x Estee Lauder Aura Gloss in Honey: I picked this up in London on a whim and fully smitten by its bouncy gel texture and flattering sheen…the pale gold formula can be tapped onto the high points of the face (e.g., cheek bones, brow bones, bridge of nose and Cupid’s Bow) for ultra-believable radiance that simply looks like inherently dewy skin. The formula is quite moisturizing and therefore can also double as a balm…it’s truly my favorite pick from this year’s VB x EL collection.
  • *By Terry Compact Expert #4 (reviewed HERE): Light beige with a radiant core, this  formula can be used to set makeup and strategically brighten up the face while also serving as a marvelous touch up powder.
  • *Chantecaille Save the Forest Eye Palette: This stunning release for Fall 2017 features four finely milled and luminous shades of eyeshadow in a decadent range of earth tones. As its moniker implies, percentage of the proceeds of this palette go towards saving the forest and the quartet of hues (keep scrolling for swatches!) are versatile and universally flattering, making philanthropy a truly beautiful thing.
  • *Sisley So Curl Mascara (reviewed HERE): Two coats for full and flippy lashes that do not flake or smudge…so curl, so good.
  • *Chantecaille Full Brow Perfecting Gel in Dark: Equal parts brow tint and thickener, this new gel features a spool applicator for precision and a luxe formula that adds depth, dimension, polish and hold for brows that look groomed yet naturally beautiful.
  • *Tom Ford Lips & Boys in Hiro: Much brighter than my usual lip color selections, I am intrigued by the satin-metallic finish of this persimmon shade…it brightens the face and punctuates a look without being overbearing…effortless!
  • *Tom Ford Boys and Girls in Joan: A perfect “90s nude brown,” this new shade has creamy opacity and a rich cream finish that wears evenly while ushering in the fall months with neutral allure.
  • *Oribe Gold Lust Pre-Shampoo Intensive Treatment: Designed to condition hair before washing, this fresh launch restores my stressed tresses in 20 minutes or less, leaving hair silky, shiny and bouncy to boot!

Loved your Clear Eyes video! Congrats to the whole family on a great job! 🙂

I got my eye on that beautiful Chantecaille Save the Forest palette – esp. like that part of proceeds go to help save forests.
