4 Things I’m Excited About for Thursday: Fresh Decorte, My Travel Mirror, HG Complexion Swatches and A Return to QVC Beauty IQ Tonight!

In this story…
I just returned from a family trip to the mountains (catch a glimpse HERE and HERE) and, after devoting one day to unpacking, laundry and re-packing, I am back on the road for a couple of days (more on this later in the post!).
As aforementioned in my past Instagram Stories however, I was able to shoot a host of new content while away and today I am sharing no less than four beauty-oriented things about which I am excited!
Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of my discoveries in action as well as the Bottom Line…
Introducing the  *Decorte Kate Moss Favorites Set.
(1) The *Decorte Kate Moss Favorites Set: Launched but a few days ago, this genius set–which is reflective of Kate Moss’ (Decorte’s spokesperson) favorite beauty musts–is replete with a streamlined palette (which effortlessly fits into a handbag) containing four lip colors, four eyeshadow and two illuminating powders for a healthy glow.
Additionally contained within the chic and utilitarian travel pouch are three brushes (for eye shadow and powder), a “my lips but better” retractable lip pencil in a neutral rose that effortlessly compliments all four lip shades, a universal brow pencil (in a gloriously neutral dark ash taupe) and a highly pigmented black liquid eyeliner with a superbly resilient finish.
I am quite taken with the nearly “full face” this richly appropriated creates; the lip colors are infinitely wearable and the eyeshadow hues have a dimensional, sophisticated appeal–“Moss Green,” yes, please–that comes with ease of application and their ability to flatter every eye color.
The beauty of this set lies not only in the classic shade choices and high-performance formulas; to me, it’s particularly exciting because it possesses the potential of being reached for daily. In my book, exemplary beauty products need to be able to do more than just look pretty…true and consistent usage is the sign of inherent value! Do you agree?

More than a palette…this set also includes three brushes, a liquid eyeliner and retractable brow and lip pencils for the ultimate in application on the go.

EXCLUSIVELY AT SAKS FIFTH AVENUE. An iconic collection of everything you need for lips, cheeks and eyes to create Kate’s fresh-faced, Brit-rock glamour. Hand-picked by Kate, with love.

LIPS: Kate chose 4 shades to create her iconic lip-look — be it a neutral nude or a radical red – with custom variations in between. Incredibly moisturizing with that perfect “just-matte” texture. A single Lip Pencil in a universal brick shade completes any lip look. It’s fuss-free (no sharpening required) with a lip brush built into the opposite end. Sweat and humidity-proof, it’s ideal if you work under serious lighting like Kate, live in or frequent humid climates.
EYES:
There’s something about black eyeliner, whether worn smoky or smudged. Kate’s versatile version creates everything from a precise line to a perfect cat, even a full Cleopatra if the mood strikes. Four warm shadows offer endless possibilities from soft to bold. “Moss Green” (of course) was a personal favorite of Kate’s. Inspired by the beauty of her eyes, it will set yours off, too.
BROWS: Brows have made a big comeback in the past year. Whether you prefer a boy-brow or a cool sliver, you’ll find a one-shade-fits-all neutral pencil that comes with a special blending tool to frame your new look. Plus it’s smudge-proof.
CHEEKS + COMPLEXION: Kate loves the glistening look of sun-kissed skin, so she made sure the palette includes all the essentials to create a bronze shimmer. An allover dusting powder finishes any look.

Collection includes: Lip Palette: (4 Shades) Net Wt. .09oz/2.8g, Lip Pencil: Net Wt. .007oz/0.2g, Eye & Cheek Palette Net Wt. .3oz/8.5g, Brow Pencil: New Wt. .005oz/0.15g, Liquid Eyeliner: Net Wt. .01oz/0.5ml, 2 Eye Shadow Brushes, 1 Powder Brush, 1 Cosmetic Bag.

Closeup…all ten shades have excellent color payoff and lasting power.

The complete look.
In the look that follows, I combined the *Decorte Kate Moss Favorites Set with the these keylproducts to create two different looks:
  • *Luzern La Defense Urban Protect Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30: This sunscreen features antioxidants, an ultra-lightweight texture and 100% mineral protection (my composition of choice when it comes to SPF) for skin that is balanced and shielded from the harmful rays of the sun. Additionally, it wears very well under makeup (no pilling, pulling or obvious flashback)!
  • *La Prairie Skin Caviar Foundation in Caramel Beige (reviewed HERE): Still in my top three foundation formulas, this particular base has gorgeous coverage, efficacious skincare benefits and a natural finish that lasts all day; the creamy, coordinating concealer further enhances Skin Caviar’s covet-worthy status.
  • *Kevyn Aucoin Matte Bronzing Veil in Desert Nights (reviewed HERE): This matte bronzer is a true deep tan, making it excellent for subtle contouring and an all-over wash of warmth.
  • *Charlotte Tilbury Wonderglow: Just a drop of this on the high points of my face (e.g., upper cheek bones, brow bones and down the bridge of the nose) offers a dewy sheen that makes skin look lit from within without the slightest trace of shimmer…brilliant.
  • *Oribe Swept Up Volume Powder Spray: This lightweight texturizing spray yields instant volume and is marvelous for breathing new life into second day hair.

*Jerdon Folding Travel Mirror
(2) The *Jerdon Folding Travel Mirror: Having tested it while it accompanied me on a few of my recent travels, I am now completely impressed with this portable mirror; one side is 1X while the other is 10X so even the most minute skin concerns (or victories!) can be viewed with ease. The base is sturdy and adjustable so the mirror can be set to the exact angle desired (no slipping or sliding) and the entire unit neatly folds up into a velveteen pouch for secure transport.

The *Jerdon Folding Travel Mirror is the perfect travel companion for flawless makeup application while away from home.

  • Equipment Lenox Shirtdress: Currently on sale, this swingy silk number has already received a lot of play in my wardrobe. It has a roomy yet classic cut that can be dressed up or down with ease and
  • Off-white booties: I got this particular pair a few years ago but found very similar options HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE. The color works well with my entire wardrobe and is an unexpected yet effortless option.

The eye look…I mixed the gold and “Moss Green” hues for a soft and glimmering neutral finish.

For a quick switch, I removed the red lip color and combined the lip liner with both nude shades in the  *Decorte Kate Moss Favorites Set.

The The *Le Metier de Beaute Complexion Perfection Set comes in six shades.

Great post! Kate Moss has been a sartorial inspiration to me for many years! I am particularly fond of the moss green eye shadow– it seems it woould be very flattering on a multitude of eye colors.
I am also really liking that Equipment dress; the cut is both classic and fresh. I am curious, though, about how tall are you? I am 5'8", and find some of their dresses hit a little too high up on the leg (particularly the side slits) to be comfortable without shorts underneath. This one looks like it may be a bit longer.

Thanks so much, Carramaus! I feel the exact same way about Kate Moss and this palette definitely lives up to expectations.

With regards to the dress, I am 5'8 1/2" and dress falls at a perfect length…not too short, even with heels.

Hope that helps and thanks for sharing your thoughts here…XO,

I have had my eye on that Decorte since it popped online. So excited to see swatches on your blog! Would you happen to have any idea when that new LMdB concealer may be available at other retailers?
