Video by Request: A Glowy Summer Look Tutorial Featuring the New Clé de Peau Beauté The Foundation

Rife with new makeup releases, it’s been all I can do to keep with the month of July! Today I am excited to share a fresh video tutorial that integrates not only the transcendent *Clé de Peau Beauté The Foundation SPF 21 (also available at CdPB) but also a host of products for which I’ve been reaching frequently this month. The tutorial is 20 minutes of product talk and application, so grab a tea and a snack…I’m excited to share my discoveries with you!

Kindly scroll on for the video, a full product breakdown, images and swatches of every product mentioned and stills of the final look as well as the Bottom Line…

  • *Clé de Peau Beauté the Foundation SPF 21 O40 (also available at CdPB): I discuss this at length in the video but since foundation is my second language, here are my thoughts after testing this formula for nearly a month…The Foundation:
    • Offers buildable light to medium-full coverage
    • Has a natural skin finish with a touch of non-shimmery dewy-ness that only gets better with every passing hour; discoloration is evened out, pores appear minimized and the canvas looks exceptionally smooth and healthy; it’s truly one of the most flattering finishes I’ve encountered to date!
    • Can be applied with one’s fingers with great success, although I prefer to buff out the look with a dampened Beauty Blender
    • Possesses a light fragrance that dissipates quickly and, the formula as a whole, has not caused an irritation to my sensitive skin
    • Feels moisturizing, lightweight and comfortable on the skin and provides immense longevity in terms of wear time (I get 7-9 hours, even on a hot day)
    • All in all, this is a luxurious foundation option for those seeking potent skincare benefits, buildable coverage and a gorgeous semi-dewy cream finish!

Official details, courtesy of Nordstrom:

What it is: A concealer that delivers long-lasting, full coverage while correcting the appearance of dark circles, spots, imperfections and uneven tone without a heavy finish.
What it does: Ideal for those looking to conceal imperfections or brighten and smooth skin for a more even-toned look, this concealer leaves skin refined with a seamless finish while protecting against UV rays.
Research results:
In a study of 110 women aged 20-50 years immediately after use, 96% said the area covered with concealer naturally blends with the skin.

How to use: Apply after your skin care products or after your pre-makeup base. Extend the product one centimeter out and apply directly to desired areas. Blend gently with your fingertips. The use of a concealer brush is recommended to enhance the application of concealer and achieve a more beautiful finish. You can even use it to prime your lips and eyes to keep lipstick and eyeshadow looking fresh and vibrant throughout the day. Use it to contour with one shade darker than your natural skin tone, sweeping underneath the cheekbone from your hairline to mid-cheek and under your chin, blending the edges to diffuse. Use it as a highlighter, choosing one shade lighter than your natural skin tone and sweeping under the eyes, down the nose, on the cupid’s bow and at the high points of the face, blending the edges to soften.
