The By Terry Techno Aura Collection: Swatches Et Al. + a Weekend Sale Shopping Guide

As promised, I am excited to finally share a swatch-heavy overview of the By Terry Techno Aura Collection.  Exclusive to Space NK, this demure assemblage of releases features multi-tasking products that create a subtle yet radiant look in seconds.
Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of the collection in action as well as the Bottom Line…

The Techno Aura Collection is inspired by lights and its playful reflection with colour. Using light reflection technology, it appeals to the modern woman who likes to look fresh and radiant, and naturally sophisticated at the same time.

I ordered five of the six offerings and couldn’t be happier with how effortless the textures and shades interface with each other.  From flushed cheeks and bright eyes to some of the glossiest lips in town, the By Terry Techno Aura Collection reflects immense versatility.
The By Terry Eye Designer in Parti-Pris in Techno Aura.
The By Terry Eye Designer in Parti-Pris in Techno Aura features six finely-milled hues of powder eyeshadow in delicate gossamer matte and satin finish shades that impart light and dimension in the orbital area. Shade descriptions are as follows:
  • Matte cream
  • Radiant pearl peach
  • Radiant oyster beige
  • Glowing pale pink
  • Matte buff tawny peach
  • Sparkling warm bronze
The first four shades are indisputably light in tone but the color payoff is significant, with minimal fallout.  I envision using the first four shades to create the quintessential pastel eye and if a darker effect is desired, then the pale shades can be used as transitional shades and also as a highlight for the brow bone.
The true hero tones of the palette for me are the final two hues…the matte tawny peach is peerless in nature. Despite owning an absurd about of eyeshadow, I don’t think I have a single shade that is similar to its brightening skin finish.  The bronze tone is transcendently beautiful as well…it works marvelously as a single wash of color but also seamlessly pairs with the peach and pale tones (as demonstrated in the look below) for neutral impact.
Although more subtle than previous By Terry palettes (reviewed HERE and HERE), the simplicity and ease of wear makes this a brilliant potential staple for one’s makeup bag.

Terry de Gunzburg brings even more color with this palette of six eyeshadows capturing the latest trends. Rich in micronized premium pigments and extra-fine powders, the easily blendable soft texture offers supreme comfort, even more coverage and durable colour. The adjustable shades can be used together, mixed or layered, to create a customized look. It’s the make-up touch of the season that everyone can wear.

The Glow-Expert Duo Stick in Amber Lights and Terra Rosa.
The Glow-Expert Duo Stick is a genius creation; the marriage of cheek color and radiant highlight, this creamy pairing is split into a single retractable stick.  The formula is velvety smooth and infinitely blendable for a tender flush and incandescent radiance that makes skin look lit-from-within.
In so many ways, these sticks are the anti-thesis of heavy-handed “Instagram makeup.” They apply sheerly but can be built up to desired intensity while completely avoiding a conspicuous, overdone result.
I picked up the tawny Amber Lights, which is an excellent stand in for bronzer and the petal pink Terra Rosa, which is beguiling blush option.  Although Amber Lights is lovely, I can achieve the same general effect with bronzer.  Consequently, I prefer the flushed ease of Terra Rosa, especially when concentrated on the apples of the cheeks…it creates an entrancing glow that still looks wholly natural and nearly texture-free on the skin.  Get this whilst you can!

The other side of the stick has a small brush for application and blending on the go.

Blush – Bronzer- Highlighter, two-tone 3-in-1 hybrid stick inspired by the latest contouring and strobing techniques, with integrated blending brush. Enriched with glow-reflecting prisms and light-corrective micro-spheres, it enhances facial features for a natural, healthy result. All 3 Glow-Expert Sticks can be mixed and matched to build a customised radiance on the skin.

The shades:
Shade 1, Amber Light: Brings a warm glow to skin, especially after a long winter. Suits all skin types.
Shade 2, Terra Rosa: Brings a flush of colour to cheeks. The secret for a fresh complexion.
Shade 3, Peachy Petal: A universally flattering tone, peach tones are subtle but bring a glow to the skin. A secret weapon to boost the skin’s radiance.

How to Apply:

Apply in a single or duo shades on cheeks, chin, nose, forehead, eyebrow arch or even décolleté. Blend it effortlessly with the soft brush or fingertips. Ideal for all complexions.

Midnight Star and Spicy Crush.
As the swatches below can attest, the By Terry Gloss Terrybly Shine in Midnight Star and Spicy Crush are devastating beautiful.  I have long been a fan of this particular formula as it is hydrating, pigmented and extremely long lasting and the rich Bordeaux Midnight Star and golden russet Spicy Crush do not disappoint.
While both are resplendent, I prefer Spicy Crush as it is a perfect “my lips but better” shade, adding depth and dimension to my moderately pigmented lips.  The gilded duo chrome is breathtaking and I can envision wearing this marvelous everyday shade with a variety of makeup looks.

Bottom Line: I hope you enjoyed this breakdown of the By Terry Techno Aura Collection. The sophisticated restraint and glowing finishes of the products makes this collection a must for the beauty minimalist who appreciates understated luxury. I particularly am smitten with the Glow-Expert Duo Stick in Terra Rosa and gloss in Spicy Crush.  Both are stunning in the winter but will perform just as well in the warmer months to come!
Good things ahead, including a fresh video tutorial, a host of new product procurements and recaps of my visits to both IMATS LA and the Indie Beauty Expo (it’s been a busy week!).
Have a marvelous weekend and thanks, as always, for reading…xx,
