New Discoveries and Classic Favorites from Le Metier de Beaute

New discoveries and classic favorites from Le Metier de Beaute.
I'll never forget the first time I visited a Le Metier de Beaute counter.  During the very early stages of Beauty Professor development, I was on a trip with my husband to Palm Beach (documented with my iPhone HERE...my how times have changed) and, due to a random rainstorm, we found ourselves in the Neiman Marcus on Worth Avenue (my husband is a good sport) rather than laying out on the beach as originally planned.  After having read about this unique and hard-to-locate brand online many times over, I was elated to be able to have unfettered access to all of the products and, consequently, swatched as much as I could to my heart's content.  Although I wanted to buy everything I saw during that first encounter, I ended up going home with a couple foundation shades (which I subsequently wore constantly over the duration of the trip) and a couple of Lip Cremes...I also left with a massive list of products that I wanted to try in the future.

Flash forward four years and I am still entirely smitten with the line.  I use at least one product from LMdB each day (often more) and am always excited when something new launches.  This post will highlight a couple of fresh product releases as well as some of my classic favorites...can't wait to share!

Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of the products in action as well as the Bottom Line...

Le Metier de Beaute Vital ET Recovery Boost.
Most recently, Le Metier de Beaute launched two new skincare products designed to combat the adverse effects of environmental stressors:

(1) The *Vital ET Recovery Boost for the face is a soothing serum with a faintly herbal scent (that dissipates quickly) best applied to skin upon cleansing.  It adds moisture and refines the skin for a healthy glow.  I have been following with my beloved Peau Vierge (reviewed HERE) and foundation for a smooth and flawless canvas that feels nourished and balanced all day.

(2) The *Vital ET Recovery Boost for the body is my new favorite post-shower ritual.  Weightless and instantly absorbed, this formula is lighter than a cream while still being extremely effective.  I apply it on my arms, legs and decollete and am delighted to note that my skin feels hydrated, firmer and "bouncier" with every application.  This is a must-have for the shorts and swimsuit-prevalent warmer months!

Discover the healing powers of Vital ET Recovery Boost – Face and Body. This highly effective form of Vitamin E defends against free radicals. Free radicals are known to damage collagen, create dryness and lead to the development of fine lines and wrinkles. These deeply reparative formulas drives super antioxidants and powerful vitamins directly into your skin. Leaves your skin looking energetic, rejuvenated and youthful.

Key Ingredients:
TPM® Technology. Vital ET®, a patented technology that decreases appearance of redness and swelling while fortifying resistance to inflammation caused by environmental stressors.

Le Metier de Beaute Bondi Beach + Full Stream Kaleidoscope.
As one of the newest Kaleidoscope launches, *Full Stream (also reviewed HERE and HERE) is the quintessential companion for those seeking a full face from a single product:
  • I use the translucent powder to set banish shine, set under eye concealer and smooth away imperfections.
  • The luminous, rosy pink blush adds a gorgeous pop of color on the apples of the cheeks
  • The bronze eyeshadow is a warm wash of color for the lids and lower lash line...I can also use it as a bronzer in a pinch ; )
  • The pale peach highlighter has an iridescent, gossamer finish that works well on the upper cheek bones and down the bridge of the nose.  I also use it as a blending shade to the brow bone for maximum utility.
If you are looking for a place to start in the world of Le Metier de Beaute Kaleidoscopes, Full Stream is a marvelous place to start!

Onto lip color et al!  The *Colour Core Stain Lipstick was one of my first post-Palm Beach trip Le Metier de Beaute purchases years ago and I reach for this lovely lip color regularly.

Possessing excellent color-payoff and a demi-matte finish that lasts for hours without drying out the lips, this formula is completely unique in my collection.

Many of the shades have a tender pearl finish (rare for a demi-matte lip color) and the formula wears evenly, leaving behind a soft stain that extends longevity.

Three of my favorites include:
  • Palm Springs (reviewed HERE): I have run through multiple tubes of the baby pink Palm Springs over the years.  Marvelous for a subtle take on a nude lip, this shade has just enough pearly pigment to keep the face from looking washed out...so good.
  • Bondi Beach: This shade has been a recent favorite for me...the mid-toned mauvy nude is a touch deeper than my normal peach beige leanings and I love how opaque it is.  I envision this shade being universally-flattering to a spectrum of skin tones.
  • Uma Paro: I am awe-struck by this radiant fuchsia with a cult following; it has a fascinating blue micro-shimmer that lends to its complexity and, despite its vibrancy, the shade feels completely wearable.

Bottom Line: I hope you enjoyed this Le Metier de Beaute intensive...I adore the products featured and wholeheartedly look forward to what the brand launches next.

What are some of YOUR favorite Le Metier de Beaute products and which ones are you hoping to try someday?  Do share!

I've been using this spring break to catch up on comments and emails (never enough time) and shoot new products for future stories like crazy!  In turn, good things ahead, including a brand new foundation formula (I'm in love), some fresh skincare in the testing phase and another round of Tom Ford Soleil Collection products to feature.

Have a beautiful rest of the week!

The Rundown: 15 Products on Heavy Rotation

On heavy rotation.
Happy Easter Sunday! What are your plans?  Today, I am excited to share some sublime skincare and beauty that have been on heavy rotation this past month.  Effortless yet effective, these products are the absolute embodiment of springtime!

Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of the products in action as well as the Bottom Line...

//THE RUNDOWN//

Fragrance + Skin:

(1) *Lanvin Eclat de Fleurs: A veritable bouquet of spring flowers, this dreamy modern classic features notes of pear, rose and sandalwood.  The flacon is stunning and the juice it holds is breathtakingly pretty.

(2) *Mila Moursi pH Balancing Toner (reviewed HERE): My skin has been extra reactive lately, probably due to weather changes, a lot of product testing and minimal sleep.  That being said, this toner never fails to reset my balance and heal blemishes and irritation, practically overnight.  One week of faithful usage and my skin is happy and back to normal...I hope to never be without this gem.

(3) *Oribe Cote d'Azur Hair & Body Oil: Drenched with the decadent signature scent of the Oribe Gold Lust product line, this fresh peach-meets-sunlight-meets-beach fragranced oil envelopes skin with nourishing

(4) *NEST Candle Apricot Tea: Warm weather evenings call for a light home scent and this candle perfectly suits my needs; the sweet apricot is tempered by a rich, dry tea note that refreshes and relaxes the senses.

Complexion:

(5) *Kevyn Aucoin The Celestial Skin Liquid Light in Starlight (formula also reviewed HERE): Pure liquid light with a pink champagne glow; mixed into foundation or applied atop base, it's absolutely perfect for the warmer months.

(6) *La Prairie Cellular Radiance Cream Blush in Lotus Glow (reviewed HERE): The smallest dab brings cheeks to life in seconds...sad this is limited-edition but happy it's still available!

(7) *Edward Bess All Over Seduction in Paradise (reviewed HERE): A radiant, peachy pink, this highlighter adds a tender dewiness to skin for a gorgeous, just flushed look.

(8) *Tom Ford Bronzing Powder in Bronze Age (reviewed HERE): I am loving a touch of this darkest bronze shade in the Tom Ford collection; it is almost matte with a natural tan finish that looks mimics a sunscreen-free week on the beach.

Eyes:

(9) Le Metier de Beaute True Color Eyeshadow in Spicy: A finely-milled formula with impressive color payoff, this neutral khaki bronze works so well as an all over wash of color on the eye lids.  It's often sold out so snatch it up when you can!

(10) *Physician's Formula Extensions Mascara (also reviewed HERE): A two part process that yields magnificent results, the mascara adds depth and volume while the fibers create insane length that stays intact for hours on end...completely worth experimenting with.

Lips:

(11) *Chantecaille Galactic Gloss in Polaris (reviewed HERE): Deeply hydrating and enchantingly iridescent, this plush gloss works well on its own or over lip color for an entrancing gleam.

(12) *Tom Ford Extra-Rich Lipstick in Le Mepris (also available at Nordstrom): I am completely smitten with this lush and pigmented summer release from Tom Ford (4 shades in total to be featured on BP soon).  A truly vibrant coral with a shiny, cream finish, this formula is transcendently lovely...you can get a better glimpse of Le Mepris in the images at the end of the post...two coats on the lips and I was good to go.

(13) *Giorgio Armani Prima Lip + Eye Perfector (reviewed HERE): This new treatment cream works just as well on the eyes as it does on the lips to intensely moisturize, prime, banish fine lines and extend the wear of lipstick (or other make up).  So brilliant and always in my cosmetic bag.

(14) *Smith + Cult Gloss in Life in Photographs (formula reviewed HERE): A tender milky pink, this shade is understated elegance...if you haven't tried the moisturizing, extra shiny Smith and Cult lip gloss formula yet, this is a marvelous place to start!

(15) Christian Dior Dior Addict Sparkling Lip Gloss in Ultradior Shock: A super sparkly, non-sticky, sheer and luminous pink that reminds me of a discontinued Chanel Glossimer (anyone remember Astral?); I love wearing this over nude lip liner for full, neutral pink looking lips.
Bright, balanced skin, lilting fragrance and serious glow.

A Style & Beauty Look + Swatches of ALL 16 Shades of the Brilliant Jouer Long-Wear Lip Creme

jouer long wear lip creme swatches

Happy Easter weekend, lovelies! What do you have planned?  My spring break has just begun and I am grateful to have some much needed time off...resting, organizing, blogging and filming await!

Earlier this month, the *Jouer Long-Wear Lip Creme (also available at Joyus and Jouer) debuted and promptly sold out; today, I am happy to report that the stock continues to be replenished and many shades are now again available.  Consequently, this post offers a swatch-heavy glimpse at all shades as well as a comprehensive style and beauty look that resonates with the warm and sundrenched weather we've been having as of late.

Kindly scroll on for more details, a host of swatches, and a full style and beauty look as well as the Bottom Line...

All 16 shades of the Jouer Long-Wear Lip Creme.
I have had the luxury of experimenting with this formula for the past few weeks and am incredibly impressed thus far.  Matte formulas, in general, pose problems for my perennially dry lips and I am frequently underwhelmed by their parched finish and heavy, opaque effect that is often prone to cracking and uneven wear.

That being said, the Jouer Long-Wear Lip Creme is refreshingly hydrating, weightless and comfortable on the lips.  Just a small amount offers intense color payoff and coverage and, once it dries down (in 5 seconds or so), it sets to a smooth and velvety cloak of color. I get hours of touch up free wear and cannot believe how evenly it wears.

In my opinion, the two most notable qualities that set the Jouer formula apart from its contemporaries are (1) the shades with a metallic finish and (2) the immense spectrum of options in the nude/light pink family.  I am so smitten with the soft, reflective nature of the metallic shades (especially Citronade Rose)--which is rare in a long-wear formula--and am hard pressed to choose a favorite nude shade from the veritable wealth of options.

In sum, those seeking full coverage, long lasting lip color with a comfortably hydrating texture must give the Jouer Long-Wear Lip Creme a try...the pursuit and (perhaps) wait for your color of preference is well worth the wait!

The Jouer Long-Wear Lip Creme comes in 16 shades in both matte cream and metallic finishes:
  • Pamplemousse: Metallic golden champagne beige
  • Papaye: Metallic pale peach with golden pink undertones
  • Creme Brulee: Warm, peachy beige
  • Melon: Neutral light nude pink...so natural and easy to wear
  • Dulce de Leche: Slightly deeper nude pink
  • Peche: Light peach
  • Citronade Rose: Metallic ballet pink...so unique and one of my favorites
  • Lychee: Mauve pink
  • Praline: Metallic medium pinky bronze nude
  • Petale de Rose: Medium neutral pink
  • Frambois: Strawberry pink...vibrant and lovely and perfect for spring
  • Noisette: Deep netural brown
  • Cassis: Purple-meets-pink-meets-mauve
  • Fruit de la Passion: Bright fuchsia pink
  • Cerise: Bold warm red
  • Fraise Bon Bon: Classic and cool bright red
I swatched all 16 shades in both sunlight and shade in the images below:
