Giorgio Armani Beauty Spotlight: Tim Quinn + Crema Nuda Swatches

crema nuda swatches
Above: Introducing the freshly-debuted Giorgio Armani Crema Nuda...a fusion of skincare and base.
A couple of weeks ago, I had the privilege of meeting famed and esteemed Giorgio Armani National Makeup Artist Tim Quinn at Neiman Marcus Beverly Hills.  His unmitigated talent and passion for beauty are contagious and speaking with him was pure delight!  I was thrilled that this visit was also marked by the debut of the Giorgio Armani Crema Nuda...the latest foundation formula in the venerable Armani Beauty line. Consequently, this post is devoted to both my intial experiences with Crema Nuda (with swatches aplenty!), and a comprehensive Giorgio Armani Beauty look.

Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of Crema Nuda in action as well as the Bottom Line...

Onto the foundation...
crema nuda swatches
Above: 4 of the 6 shades of Crema Nuda; the formula has a plush, hydrating texture that instantly melds with the skin.
Designed as a skincare-foundation hybrid, the Crema Nuda is unlike any base product currently in my collection.   Housed in a heavy glass jar, the rich and emollient formula may look like a rich dessert but on the skin, it feels like absolutely nothing!  I was stunned by how masterfully it became one with my skin, smoothing away fine lines and pores while lending a veil of color that evened my skintone in seconds.  An additional dab over more trepedatious areas of the face and the skin looks almost airbrushed in appearance...it may apply sheerly but can be built to nearly full coverage.

In my initial experience, I deem Crema Nuda to have:
  • A immensely hydrating feel
  • An instantly absorbed texture
  • Sheer to medium-full buildable coverage
  • A natural, satin-matte finish
  • Significant lasting power...I experienced an average of 6-7 touchup-free hours in my first trials with the formula last week

Official details, courtesy of Neiman Marcus:

The new generation of tinted cream: the first premium care complexion perfector with performance power that surpasses BB and CC Creams.

A true multitasker: it treats, corrects and blurs the complexion. Infused with the Reviscentalis Resurrection plant, the specially blended formula helps improve skin radiance and reveal younger looking skin.

Available in six shades.

50 mL/ 1.7 fl. oz.

Bottom Line: The Giorgio Armani Crema Nuda (also available at Nordstorm) is a gorgeous base product splurge for those seeking the perfect marriage of skincare and foundation and I am so thankful to have been introduced to it by the kind and radiant Tim Quinn.  I cannot wait to continue to experimenting with this lavish formula in different weather situations (e.g., intense humidity and dryness) to so I can properly calibrate its lasting power in respect to other foundations in my rotation.  In the meanwhile, I am very impressed with its buildable coverage and beautiful satin-matte finish!

Have YOU tried Crema Nuda?  hat are some of YOUR favorite Giorgio Armani Beauty products?

Good things ahead, including even more foundation, my picks from the Tom Ford Summer '15 Collection (also available at Nordstrom), a skincare update, an April Favorites video, some fresh By Terry and a FOTD/Style hybrid post!

Hope your week is going well thus far...xx,

New EYES...New LIP: A Brief Overview of Burberry Glow Nude + Tom Ford Skinny Dip

Above: Burberry Wet & Dry Glow Eyeshadow in 002 Nude...the ultimate luminous neutral taupe.
While in Dallas for the past few days (more on that HERE and HERE), I managed to do a bit of shopping between meetings and appointments.  Although I exercised substantial restraint, I did happen to indulge in a duo of key products for EYES and LIPS.

Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of the products in action as well as the Bottom Line...
Above: A swatch of the Burberry Glow shadow in Nude in direct sunlight...silky, pigmented and radiant in a single pass.
For EYES, I snapped up the last remaining Burberry Wet & Dry Glow Eyeshadow in 002 Nude  (formula review + additional swatches of many shades  HERE) in stock at the gorgeous Northpark Center Nordstrom.  This radiant formula has a lovely netural taupe leaning that is buildable to nearly full opacity.  For me, it was love at first swatch... I knew it would be easy to wear and am pleased with the crease-free lasting power of this luxurious, finely-milled powder.  In the image below, I coupled it with the illustrious Surratt Beauty Relevee Mascara (reviewed HERE) for a clean, pared down look that is simultaneously casual and sophisticated.  If you love neutrals and are looking to try a shade from this newly-reformulated spectrum of options from Burberry, I implore you to consider 002 Nude...I suspect you will not regret it.

Above: Wearing Burberry 002 Nude + two coats of Surratt Beauty Relevee Mascara...truly a 30 second eye!

For LIPS, I embraced the Tom Ford Summer '15 Lipstick in Skinny Dip.  The entire collection (swatched and to be revealed in a post later on this week) had just surfaced at Neiman Marcus at the Northpark Center and I couldn't resist procuring this peachy wonder.  Although it is a sheer formula, the pigmentation is immense, thereby yielding a pop of color that instantly brightens the face.  I paired Skinny Dip with the pale, nude peach-meets-pink Marc Jacobs (P)Outliner in Honeybun (reviewed HERE and HERE) for an opaque, soft coral with tremendous luminosity and hydrating staying power.  Of the four lip color options in the TF Summer '15 collection, Skinny Dip is by far my favorite!

Bottom Line: I hope you enjoyed this succinct product overview...both the Burberry Wet & Dry Glow Eyeshadow in 002 Nude and the Tom Ford Summer '15 Lipstick in Skinny Dip  are essentials for a neutral eye and lip look and I know they will prove to be staples in my makeup bag for months to come.

I am still in the midst of unpacking and responding to comments and emails but have some exciting posts on the horizon including more Tom Ford Summer 2015 picks, some new shoe profiles, a foundation closeup or two, a skincare update, a April (!) Favorites video and a round of new releases for lips and cheeks~

What is new in YOUR life?

xx,

Happy weekend, lovelies! Between work and travel, this week has been an utter blur.  Consequently, I have pared down my beauty routine the past couple of days, which has been a great time saver while I've been exploring Dallas. This brief post is dedicated to the key products I've been using, with a splash of style towards the end!  The rainy day conditions yesterday were an amusing change, but I concede that I miss the glory of direct, natural sunlight, especially when capturing swatches ; 0

Above: Behold...the La Mer Reparative Skintint!
The La Mer Reparative Skintint (also available at Bergdorf Goodman and Barney's NY) is utterly lovely.  In my initial experiences, the SPF 30 formula is:
  • Buildable for customizable light to medium, nearly full coverage
  • Very creamy, yet easily absorbed
  • Able to minimize the appearance of pores and fine lines for nearly an airbrushed (yet natural) finish
  • Good for most skin tones in the light to medium-deep range...the undertones are neutral enough to blend well
  • Long lasting...I get nearly 8 hours of flawless wear
  • My most favorite La Mer product yet!
Shade Descriptions:
  • Very Fair: @N/NC/NW 10-15
  • Light: @N/NC/NW 20-23
  • Light-Medium: @N/NC/NW 25-27
  • Medium: @N/NC/NW 30-35
  • Tan: @N/NC/NW 37-42

Official details, courtesy of Neiman Marcus:

This reparative treatment with a healthy wash of color works to perfect the complexion instantly and over time. Skin is immersed in the healing energies of our legendary Miracle Broth™, while potent marine ferments help even, smooth and repair the look of lines and wrinkles. SPF30 and antioxidants help protect from environmental stressors such as pollution that can age the look of the skin. Day by day, skin looks healthier, more glowing and luminous

**If you are looking to pick this formula up by phone, I highly recommend calling La Mer Specialist Scott Reyes at Neiman Marcus Beverly Hills (310) 550-5900...he is a brilliant resource for the line!

Above: Products used for the look that follows
To adequately showcase the resplendent performance of the La Mer Reparative Skintint, I created a bright yet casual look that features some of my latest product procurements on heavy rotation!

Products Used
  • *Le Metier de Beaute Peau Vierge #2 (reviewed HERE)...as an initial, non-negotiable, moisturizer/priming base.
  • *ReVive Fermatif Hand Renewal Cream SPF 15....a wildly hydrating formula, my typing and handwriting-fatigued hands feel truly transformed after a single application.
  • La Mer Restorative Skintint in Light-Medium...buffed on with a Beauty Blender, I am loving the medium coverage that sets within a minute and wears like a dream.
  • *Omorovicza Mineral Touch in Beige (swatched below)...this latest debut from the venerable Hungarian skincare line is simply stunning.  The silky formula can be used as a concealer or even a light base and the pigmented cream covers imperfections while still looking entirely natural.  I adore this.
  • *Tata Harper Volumizing Lip and Cheek Tint in Very Charming (swatched below)...this all natural formula is light and buildable for softly flushed cheeks that look lit from within.  I'm impressed with its ingredients and versatility!
  • Napoleon Perdis Closeup Powder...coming soon, this completely invisible powder banishes shine while blurring pores and fine lines for confidence in extreme closeup situations.
  • *Napoleon Perdis Nude U Palette (reviewed HERE)...this set of neutrals offers limiteless possibilities and I embraced the first and forth shades on the top row for a light taupe lid with gleaming accents.
  • *Sania's Brow Bar Brow Pencil in Medium (swatched below)...this retractable brow pencil yields creamy pigment that looks ever so natural and features a spooly on the other side...a wonderful pairing for brows on the go.
  • *Clé de Peau Beauté Perfect Lash Mascara (reviewed HERE)...two coats and this formula does not budge until I remove it.
  • *Kevyn Aucoin Matte Lip Color in Eternal (swatched below)...this bright, classic cherry shade can be blotted for a casual twist on the bold red pout.  The pigmentation is insane!
  • *Show Beauty Pure Treatment Oil...luxuriously scented and ultra hydrating, I apply this oil both on wet hair (to lend to managability) and dry hair (to add immediate shine).

Bottom Line: The La Mer Reparative Skintint is an incredible base option for those seeking buildable medium coverage with skincare benefits and a lasting finish.  I, for one, am delighted with the formula and anticipate it joining the ranks of my rotation in the months to come!

Good things ahead, including a beauty + skincare travel packing list, some new product procurements and even more foundation!  I am in Dallas this week for a digital publishers conference (more on that forthcoming) and am working on responding to email and comments as quickly as my schedule allows ; )
