Rapid Pictorial Review: Tom Ford Golden Peach Eyeshadow, Orlane Foundation and a Charlotte Tilbury Beach Stick

Above: Workday makeup!
Happy Friday!  Sometimes, my packed work day only allows for Instagram images but fortunately, my makeup experimenting never ceases.  Consequently, I’ve compiled a quick rundown of my beauty  rotation this past week, courtesy of Instagram.  Here are my succinct thoughts (to be expanded on soon) on each of the products featured in this post:
  • *Orlane Teint Absolou in #012…the latest foundation formula to land at BP headquarters, this medium coverage treatment formula has skincare benefits and a gorgeous, skin-like finish with remarkable lasting power.  I cannot wait to feature it more comprehensively in the days to come!
  • Dior Perle Topcoat #187 (not currently available)…iridescent and matte, I’ve yet to find a dupe for this subtle, low key, limited-edition gem.  Any suggestions?
  • *Charlotte Tilbury Beach Stick in Formentera (also available at Beautylish)…a creamy tan with a slightly rosy finish, this versatile stick can act as both a contour and bronzer for light to medium skin.  The portability enhances its value in my collection!
  • Tom Ford Summer ’15 Cream Blush in Pink Sand…creamy, buildable and perhaps the most quintessential light pink, this latest release from Tom Ford is divine.  I love the tender flush and ‘”lit from within” glow this formula creates; I implore you to track it down if you haven’t already done so.
  • *Chikuhodo GSN 08 Brush…ultra well-crafted and gorgeous to look at, this flat, tapered brush applies both cream and powder eyeshadow with deft ease.  It is a perfect pairing with the Tom Ford shadow below ; )
  • Tom Ford Summer ’15 Eyeshadow in Golden Peach…the star of the week for me, this eyeshadow features a pigmented, rose-gold cream shadow and shimmering warm gold powder for light, luminous, neutral eye that lasts, crease-free, for hours on end.  Although this shade is perhaps lighter in depth than I am accustomed to wearing, I love how sophisticated and chic it is.  I never thought I would love a peach eye as much as I now do…so worth the splurge!
  • Oh, and I wear my 1969 denim jacket (shown in the images below) multiple times a week…it’s getting to the point where my other 25 jackets and coats are justifiably jealous.
Kindly scroll on for more images, swatches and the Bottom Line…
Above: The full look, first thing in the morning…got to love the iPhone ; ) 1969 Denim Jacket from GAP.
Above: Tom Ford Golden Peach is BEYOND…peach-meets-rose gold with immense lasting power and a luminous glow.  Ordering a backup this weekend before it sells out!!!!
Above: Swatches of Golden Peach in direct sunlight…the cream alone is closest to the bracelet, then the shadow, then a mixture of the two (as also worn on my eyes).
Above: Charlotte Tilbury Beach Sticks in Las Salinas (a radiant pinky coral) and Formentera (a creamy tan with a soft matte finish).
Above: I attempted to capture the beauty of the Tom Ford Golden Peach while walking to my car after work today…although the wild wind seem to conspire against me, just enough eyelid was revealed to showcase this exquisite shadow’s delicate hue.

Bottom Line:  Although this post is mainly pictorial in nature, my full review of the Tom Ford Summer ’15 Collection is in the works along with a comprehensive discussion of the Orlane foundation, Charlotte Tilbury Beach Sticks and Chikuhodo brushes.   In the meanwhile, I hope you enjoyed the brevity!
What are some of YOUR beauty staples for this past week?  Any fun plans for the weekend?
Good things ahead, including a fresh foundation post, new product procurements and (hopefully!) a video tutorial…xx and have a beautiful Friday,

I like the Tom Ford eye shadows. I find that I really enjoy the cream shadows. With the addition of both cream and powder in one small compact, I think this is a brilliant idea. Great post!

      Hi Debi,

I agree…the TF cream shadows are so very good! The double layer makes for immense lasting power!

Thank you for a lovely and very interesting blogg. Very useful! I use the nailpolish from Dior over light cream polish, like baby blue, light purple ect. I often put a shiny top coat on because I like shiny finish. Love the colors the Dior polish can create, like princess cakes 😀

    Have a lovely weekend!!!
    Take care, Maria

hi rachel!! ohhhh orlane!! i remember going downtown cincinnati to a store called henry harris. i used to daydream at their orlane counter. i'm not sure if i'm going to do any ordering of makeup too soon as most of the products, although absolutely stunning in the package, are proving to be to dark for my pale skintone. i really love those tom ford shadows…you look gorgeous (as always) in golden peach. naked bronze proved to be way to dark for me, even with the tiniest amount and lots of blending. in fact, what i really liked was the top glitter shade worn alone. it reminded me of my "beloved" chanel new moon. i was going to try the peach shade too. i really wish i had a tom ford counter here to try it on. there is a rose gold stylo stick in chanel's summer collection and, i did not care for it on me. those beach sticks look divine and so, beautiful on you. after all the returns, i only kept tom ford's body oil, such a splurge but sooo a must-have. i heard oribe is coming out with a fragrance. have you tried it? and yes i enjoyed, thoroughly, the brevity. if my mom feels good then it will be a great mother's day!! the stores were packed today so, i'm sure tomorrow will be extra busy…..thankyou for this fabulous post!!! xxxxoooo

      Hi Wendy,

Love your Orlane memories…so wonderful! Thanks for the sweet words about my post…I wish you were able to find a rose gold eyeshadow in the depth you prefer!

The Beach Sticks are amazing…so blendable and also great on the lips. I heard the same thing about the Oribe fragrance…can't wait to give it a whirl!

Hope your weekend has been beautiful…XO,

Ohhhhhhhh Rachel……prettyyy please tell us more about the Orlane foundation soon ;D. It's killing me to not press the order button, but I want to hear your thoughts (and see a swatchee-poo maybe?)! Is the finish satiny at all? I'm such a foundation junkie, I've been wearing the By Terry Cellularose Moisturizing CC Cream mixed with a touch of KA Candlelight liquid and the combo is fantastic…but you know how we roll LOL!! Allllllways on the lookout for more base products! I have to say I'm mega impressed with the way the By Terry CC cream is moisturizing yet still lasts thru the entire day…a rare find indeed! Usually anything as long-wearing as the BT dries me out in a flash, but it isn't drying at all!
The CT Beach Sticks look amazing as well…is the lasting power pretty good with these? We have super humid summers here, but my dry skin cries for cream products so I'm often at a loss for longevity (By Terry Ice Dream is passing the test with flying colors though!).
Ok I'll stop rambling…can't wait to see what you have up your sleeve for the coming days!! As always, thank you for all you do and I hope you're having an awesome week!

      Hi Rebekah,

Thank you!! I will indeed be working on the Orlane review this week ; ) I have swatches of all 4 shades and just need to edit the photos and prepare the post! I love your current base mix…I need to try that. So glad you are loving the By Terry CC as I am…it's superb.

The lasting power is surprisingly strong with the CT Beach Sticks…these dry down to nearly a powder and work well in the heat.

Thanks for your readership and friendship!
