Late to the Party: Rag & Bone Dre Boyfriend Jeans

Above: First and foremost, Happy Memorial Day…hope it was spent with loved ones, in memory and appreciation fo the lives valiantly sacrificed for our freedom.
Above: My new Rag & Bone Dre Boyfriend Jeans (Phoenix was, size 25).
I am mournfully late to the boyfriend jeans party…this, I know for certain!  Don’t get me wrong, I still love the streamlined effect that my cadre of skinny jeans provides, but the casual, laid back, ever so relaxed energy of the boyfriend jean has me yearning for summer as I pair them with heels for work.  Recently, I picked up the Rag & Bones Dre style (in the Phoenix wash), deeply discounted, on the Rag & Bone website.  I loved them so much that I ended up ordering two more pairs a couple of days later…like I said, late to the party, but happy to finally show up ; )
Kindly scroll on for more details, a discussion of sizing and fit and the Bottom Line…

Above: Bun Life // Boyfriend jeans make me want to throw my hair in a bun and relax.
Above: A comfortable low (but not too low) rise and a preview of the gorgeous Kjaer Weis Lip Tint in Amazed (also worn in the “bun life” image) to be reviewed soon.
In terms of fit, the Rag & Bone Dre Jeans are a slimcut boyfriend style with a lower rise and slightly tapered legs that look just right when rolled up a bit.  I sized up to a 25 (from my normal 24) to guarantee a roomier fit.  The lightweight denim of the Phoenix wash (which also has a few distressed near-tears for a deconstructed effect) definitely gave me the “boyfriend” look, so I subsequently also ordered a size 24 for a more fitted option in the waist.
While on the Rag & Bone site for the second time, I also selected the Marilyn jean in the Devon wash (medium blue, no signs of distressing) which has a higher rise for a dressier look. Since they are 100% cotton and I still want them to have a “boyfriend” fit, I ordered a size 25 to account for potential shrinkage.  I cannot wait for them to arrive and will do an update post once time allows!
Although the Rag & Bone site has a plethora of styles currently on sale, I also found the Dre (in a bevy of washes and price points) at Revolve, Shopbop, Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom.  I know I’ll be wearing these all spring (with heels in the classroom) and summer (with sandals, booties and barefoot out and about and at home), thereby making them a fabulous investment.

Above: The Rag & Bone Dre Phoenix wash has light whiskering at the front and fading across the mid leg for an “already broken in” look.
Above: Search no further for the perfect boyfriend jeans…the Dre.

Bottom Line: I hope you enjoyed this discussion of my foray into boyfriend jeans…truly happy I found the Rag & Bone Dre style!  What are some of YOUR favorite boyfriend jeans?
Good things ahead, including a skincare update, Kjaer Weis feature and fresh lips from Lipstick Queen!

*round of applause* THAT is the difference between "boyfriend jeans" and LITERALLY wearing one's boyfriend's jeans. I've always wondered how exactly to execute the relaxed look of boyfriend jeans while maintaining an ever-so-slight bit of structure for a flattering fit, and you articulated that perfectly with your observation on the fitted waist.

BTW, how does the pigmentation of the Kjaer Weis Lip Tint last compared to other highly pigmented lip balms e.g. Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment, Ilia Tinted Lip Conditioner, Givenchy Rouge A Porter, etc?

I love your comments, Tequila ; ) So thought-provoking and enjoyable!

With regards to your question about the Kjaer Weis, I find that the Lip Tint has a respectable lasting power…similar to the Fresh (in terms of plush texture and pigment) and definitely more lush than the Ilia. I haven't tried the Givenchy yet but I want to!!

      Hope your weekend was lovely…XO,

BTW, when it comes to a "relaxed" fashion sense, I feel like people in Europe wish it's you in the boyfriend jeans, GTO windows rolled down, and Jethro sticking his head out on the open road, but imagine the masses in Crocs with white knee socks 😛
