5 Ways to Get Your Glow On

Above: Options for the quintessential glow.
Illuminating products can be tricky…too much radiance and the “glow” can translate as (gasp!) oily and too little luminosity and one is compelled to ask, what’s the point?  Consequently, I am excited to share 5 incandescent beauty finds so you can get your glow on!
Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of the products in action as well as the Bottom Line…

First up…how to deliver radiance to the eyes.  I love the gossamer texture of the Giorgio Armani Fluid Eye Color (available at Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom and swatched + reviewed HERE); it feels like a lush cream upon contact, but dries down to a luminous power finish that lasts for hours without creasing.  The shimmer is so fine and complex that it doesn’t dance into glitter territory; quite refreshingly, it perfectly embodies the concept of the “satin finish.”  Two of my favorite shades from this formula are Senso, a medium warm bronze-meets- brown and Rose Ashes, a rose gold beige.  Worn together (with Senso as a base and Rose Ashes as a blend to the brow shade), they effortlessly convey a luminous neutral vibe.

Next, are four more befitting options for an ethereal visage.  For the face, I’ve been loving the *Kevyn Aucoin The Celestial Skin Liquid Lighting (available at Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom and reviewed HERE).  Housed in an airless pump this rich fluid blends seamlessly for a “second skin” effect that adds a subtle sheen.  It can be mixed into foundation for increased radiance or tapped on top of makeup to bring light to the face.  The *Napoleon Perdis Light Switch Luminizing Palette (available at Neiman Marcus and reviewed HERE) is a genius way to pinpoint glow on your canvas…with 5 custom cream shades of varying hue and intensity, this gem allows for endless, luminous creativity!
For lips, I the Laura Mercier Paint Wash Liquid Lip Color in Golden Peach (available at Nordstrom, Sephora and Neiman Marcus and reviewed HERE) has had a permanent position in my purse this spring.  The hydrating texture glides on like a gloss but delivers the pigmentation of a lipstick and this pearly peachy nude is simply gorgeous on its own (for a pared down look) or over a darker lip liner (for more multidimensional effect).  Akin to “light in a tube,” the *Chantecaille Galactic Gloss in Polaris (available at Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus and Space.NK and reviewed HERE and HERE) is a dreamy iridescent gel that is at once moisturzing and nourishing.  It provides lush shine on contact and, in a pinch, can also be used as a highlighter on the face (trust me, I’ve tried while on the go!).

How dense or viscous is the Kevyn Aucoin The Celestial Skin Liquid Lighting compared to the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in the pump? The Becca SSP will last me forever size-wise, but the Kevin Aucoin TCSLL looks like the perfect shade of gold highlight for my light olive skin 🙂

      Hi Tequila!

With regards to your question, it is a creamy fluid that has a touch of a cushion feel but melds to the skin instantly upon application. I haven't used the Becca, unfortunately, so I cannot delineate the precise differences between the two formulas. I can, however, confirm that the golden cast of this highlighter works very well with light olive skin!

      Hope that helps…xx,

I've been obsessed with glow lately! The KA Candlelight liquid is so wonderful…I've been using it and KA Creamy Glow Duo #4-Sculpt/Candlelight like crazy lately! The sculpting shade is perfect and I think I may pan the Candlelight cream soon LOL! Rachel have you tried the Chantecaille Liquid Lumiere Illuminators? They are gorgeous!!
I hope you had a lovely weekend! Sending lots of love!

      Hi Rebekah!

You and me both, girl ; ) I am so glad you are loving the KA Candlelight Liquid…isn't it dreamy?! I have one of the Chantecaille Lumieres in Luster, which is a pigmented rose with gold undertones but I have my eye on Brilliance next!

I hope your weekend has been fantastic!

I want alllllll the glow! 😀
Ya should have seen my face when I finally got my hands on the Burberry Fresh Glow Liquid in Golden Radiance! Suffice to say I was a bit excited ;D
I love the Chante Liquid Lumieres so much…I use Luster as a blush and Brilliance to highlight…total glowy amazingness!! My next conquest may be the newest shade, Sheen! *sighs at pale pearly pink awesomeness*
Ok I've babbled long enough, I could talk about illuminators all day! LOL!
Oh before I forget…how is the Eve Lom Radiance cream compact foundation working out?? Would you recommend it for dry skin? Can't wait to hear your thoughts!
Wishing you a fab week ahead!! Lots of love!

      Hugs,
      Rebekah

How are you liking the Burberry Fresh Glow? I've heard such great things about the formula but haven't yet tried it! With regards to your question, the Eve Lom Cream Foundation is good…buildable light to medium coverage with decent lasting power. I think it would be brilliant for dry skin as it is quite emollient. It develops a dewy (not shimmery) glow over time and photographs well!

I hope that helps…have a beautiful week and talk soon…XOXO,

Though I haven't tried the tan shade, the shell-shade Burberry Fresh Glow is by far the most lightweight liquid luminizers I've used. Try it!
