Glo-Minerals LUXE Liquid Foundation + A Full Look Featuring Lipstick Queen, Mehron and Tom Ford

Above: Luxe Liquid Foundation…an excellent mineral-inflused formula with a soft-focus finish.
I love scouring the globe for new base formulas…this time, I am happy to share my experience with the *Glo-Minerals LUXE Foundation (also available at Dermstore).  This lush liquid is brimming with mineral pigments and diamond powder to create a completely smooth canvas that lasts for hours.  The silky, medium coverage has a soft focus effect that inspired me to embrace a taupe eye and deep blackberry lip for a sundrenched winter look!

Kindly scroll on for more details, foundation comparison swatches, images of the foundation in action and a few new products I decided to pair with it as well as the Bottom Line…

Above: Heavy and blended swatches of Almond in direct sunlight.  Almond is appropriate for NC25 skin.
My Impressions:

Although there are eight available shades in this formula, I was able to match myself to Almond without seeing the options in person.  Almond is a beautiful warm beige akin to appromimately NC25 skintones.  It applies with a delightfully smooth opacity and does not oxidize darker as the day wears on.
The liquid has a velvety texture that instantly yeilds medium (easily buildable to full) coverage that still feels extremely weightless.  I was pleased by how instantly it smoothed skin and blurred my pores while simultaneously retaining a natural appearance.  The soft focus effect is semi-matte, making setting powder an option but not a necessity.  Although I wouldn’t deem this a true “skin finish,” the delicate glow it develops over time (which I attribute to the inclusion of diamond powder) is simply delightful.
The foundation, which is unscented (!), has decent lasting power.  Each time I have worn it, I have experienced 6-7 hours of comfortable, flawless wear, even in warm and sunny conditions.  Combine that with anti-aging ingredients and a dash of sunscreen and this is one lovely formula.
All in all, the Glo-Minerals LUXE Liquid Foundation is a brilliantly afforable medium coverage, long lasting, skin-friendly choice!
Above: Current foundation All Stars (links to their respective reviews in the image below).
I was inspired to offer some comparison swatches from formulas in my current rotation…although Almond looks slightly darker than some of my other befitting options, the light texture blends to perfectly match my NC 25 skin.  I would deem it most similar in tone to the Zelen’s Age Control Foundation in Beige.

Above: A quintessential blackberry, the transparent finish of the Lipstick Queen Bete Noire in Possessed Sheer makes this deep shade entirely wearable.
The super even soft-focus canvas created by the LUXE Liquid Foundation seemed the perfect time to try out a rich (yet translucent) blackberry lip.  The lastest installment from Lipstick Queen–Bete Noire in Possessed Sheer–is decadently gorgeous for the cooler months.  With a nourishing, balm-like texture (similar to the cult favorite, Hello Sailor), this lipstick imparts just enough pigmentation to create deeply flushed and juicy lips that look healthy and au currant.

“I was inspired by the dark sensuality within us all when creating these three beautiful takes on black cherry lips. They’re glamorous, intriguing and yet with no hint of goth about them thanks to the warm, blackberry tone of these dark, midnight shades. This seductive collection will bring drama and intensity to your lips so get ready to embrace your dark side!”

–Poppy King, Lipstick Queen Founder.
Embrace this season’s glamorous dark lip with Bête Noire, a super-flattering blackberry shade in three chic, flattering and seductive formulations. Possessed Sheer is a silky, wet formula for a mere crush of forest fruits on the lips. Enriched with anti-oxidant Vitamin E and nourishing moisturizing oils, this lipstick keeps lips soft, comfortable and hydrated.

Above: Mehron Celebre Saffron powder…a brightening yellow that evens skin and sets makeup effortlessly.
I decided to add a light dusting of the Mehron Celebre Pro-HD Loose Mineral Powder in Saffron (a soft, translucent yellow) to further enhance the soft-focus finish and set my makeup for the duration of a long day.  This ultra-fine formula is so light and airy that it practically floats onto the face.  It banishes unwanted shine without dampening the beauty of the makeup already applied…magnifique!

That foundation looks great! Thanks for posting about one that is under the radar; I'd not have known about it otherwise. And the blackberry lipstick is very pretty! I hadn't seen anything in that line for a long time that i wanted, but you've changed my mind!

I know you love your nudes, but that blackberry lip is absolutely smashing with your eyes (and a color after my own heart.) So glad to see more companies going with unscented foundations. It seems so unnecessary and is such a common source of irritation. And now you've given me cause to explore yet another foundation! Many thx.

I saw your post on the saffron powder. Have you used the Ben Nye Banana Powder ? Is it similar to that one ?

I have not tried it on the face but I have swatched the Banana Powder…I find the Saffron to be more finely milled and invisible on the skin. Love it!
