FOTD: 1990’s Nude Lip

Above: A rose gold 90’s nude lip at the golden hour.
Over the course of the last few months, I have heard much talk of the resurgence of the 90’s.  Having been of age during that decade to remember it as if it were yesterday (yikes), I have found myself pondering whether the 1990’s occurred long enough ago to even be a worthy candidate for homage.  Regardless of what I may think about the relative passage of time, the deep, rosy nudes of supermodel era (Christy! Naomi! Cindy!) seem to be making a reappearance on every magazine cover and said market saturation has inspired me to offer my own take on the 90’s nude lip, this time in the form of the coppery beige Clé de Peau Beauté Extra Rich lipstick in V309, an undeniable gem.
Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of my 90’s nude lip in action as well as the Bottom Line…

More LMdB Cheeky Chic details, courtesy of NEIMAN MARCUS:

The ultra-chic, Cheeky Chic Collection is the blush collection that you’ve been waiting for. The precisely curated hues and textures are the most flattering and beautiful of their kind. The pink shades are not disrupted by any brown or orange undertone, but are built upon a primed base of pure white to lay on the skin with brightness and clarity.

The nude matte is softly neutral, and perfect for more subtle looks. The final tier contains a perfected golden luminizer that is versatile enough to enhance the natural glow of any skin tone. Wear the shades one at a time, or blend selected hues together to create your signature look. Cheeky Chic! (so huggable)!

  • Velvet Underground: Pure Matte Salmon-Pink.
  • Dali: Pure Matte Classic-Pink.
  • Ondine: Silky Matte Beige-Nude.
  • Electra: Sheer Gold Luminizer.

I love it when you feature a drugstore find! I actually bought the Revlon colorstay whipped foundation at your suggestion. I chose the right shade and it is nice but it's not multi-tasking so does not rival my other products. My favorite has been Chanel vitalumiere in 30 beige – I wear it year round.

Hi BP! Your lashes look amazing. Coincidentally I bought a drugstore mascara on a whim. It was the L'Oréal butterfly w the large brush wand. I liked the formula and wand going on but unfortunately by mid day I had flakes. Yuck! I will exchange and give this a try. Absolutely loving my Zelens foundation. My skin feels great after removing also. Love the fotd. Xoxo

      Hello dear Lynn!

Thank you…lots of mascara ; ) This Maybelline doesn't flake at all (which, of course, I was prepared for)…give it a go! So thrilled to hear that you are still loving the Zelens…you're right, it does make the skin feel better, even when removed!

Hope your week is off to a marvelous start…xx,

Love this darker nude, and it's so pretty with your other choices! It reminds me a bit of Charlotte Tilbury's Stoned Rose. And I am swooning over those gorgeous colors in Cheeky Chic! The 90s resurgence is so surreal, but this look has me tempted to forgo my bright lips for a little 90s angst. 😉 xoxo, Blondie, Esq.

Thank you!! Yes, I can see the similarities between the two lippie shades and I implore you to consider Cheeky Chic…it is such a versatile product and I use it every week!

Hope you had the loveliest of weekends…xx,
