Summertime Musings and Must Haves Involving Edward Bess + Dolce & Gabbana

Above: Kate and me outside of Neiman Marcus Beverly Hills.
Greetings…this post is a bit of this and that!  First up, I had the privilege to meet up with a long-time Beauty Professor reader and friend, Kate, while she was in LA for work.  We have bonded over a mutual affinity of nude lipstick and the perfect foundation and it was so marvelous to finally meet in person!  We started our shopping excursion at Neiman Marcus, Beverly Hills and proceeded to traverse Wilshire (via Saks and Barney’s NY) to Rodeo Drive, where we had a lovely coffee shake at the Nespresso Cafe.  The afternoon could not have been more perfect!

Above: The Edward Bess Quad Royale in South of France is a beauty powder that creates incredible results.
Next, the Edward Bess Quad Royale in South of France is exquisite and I wonder why it took me so long to try it!  The soft, luminescent tones of this finely-milled powder bring a certain dimension to the face that is simultaneously (and paradoxically, I might add) undetectable and undeniable.  It banishes shine, refines the pores, is only slightly radiant (this is so NOT a shimmer-fest!) and adds a “certain something” that, as a last step in one’s makeup routine, wholly improves the canvas.  I use the enclosed brush (which is quite good) to sweep this all over my face as a final part of my cosmetic process and the results are divine.  The slender case effortlessly slips into the smallest of handbags, making touchups a breeze…loving this.

Finally, while in Beverly Hills with Kate, I couldn’t help but succumb to the siren song of the new Dolce & Gabbana summer collection, namely, the Passion Duo Lipstick in Orchid, available at Saks.  This stunning, creamy, light lilac pink has equal parts opacity and moisture, leaving a beautiful swath of color on the lips.  Orchid is a truly unique shade in the collection and I have equal adoration for many of the permanent shades in the Passion Duo formula, which can be purchased at Sephora as well.

Bottom Line: Up next…a summertime look video tutorial featuring accessible and affordable products from Walgreens Beauty and my comprehensive review of the gorgeous La Prairie Skin Caviar Foundation and Concealer (previewed HERE). I’ll also be responding to as many of your lovely comments and emails as possible tomorrow as I should hopefully have some unmitigated work time ; )
I hope your week is going well…xx,

Awww…….this is so sweet! I had such a wonderful time with you, and again, thank you for allowing me to take up so much of your day!

I absolutely adore all the makeup I bought when we were shopping. I have worn the Napoleon Perdis bronzer and the other items from the Slim Aarons collection daily. The Dolce & Gabbana perfume is heavenly, and I have also worn that every day. Finally, the Surrat beauty items we chose are excellent – Fee Soie is perfect, and I love the setting powder as well (whose name is too long to type!) Perfect choices. My only regret? Not getting that D&G lipstick you bought – it looked phenomenal on you!!

Hope all is well, friend. Talk soon!

    xoxo,
    Kate
