Chanel Fall 2014 Etats Poetiques Collection…Swatches of Everything!

Above: The Chanel Fall 2014 Collection.
After ample pool time on Saturday, I headed to the gorgeous Gardens Mall yesterday and couldn’t resist engaging in some iPhone-enabled guerilla swatching at Saks Fifth Avenue; fortunately, the Chanel Fall 2014 collection had just arrived earlier that morning, making my retail excursion oh so productive!
Kindly scroll on for more details and swatches of the Chanel Fall 2014 Collection as well as a glimpse of my latest Palm Beach procurement…hint…they’re made by Prada!

Above: The Chanel Fall 2014 Etats Poetiques Collection had arrived mere hours earlier in the day….just in time for a hearty swatching session.
Chanel Fall 2014 Etats Poetiques Collection Products Swatched (in order of appearance in this post):
Lèvres Scintillantes / Glossimer $29.50
• Rose Rêvé / Milky Pink / Limited Edition…gorgeous in the tube, but quite sheer in my swatch.
• Songe / Iridescent Pearl / Limited Edition…this is the only item I bought…it has a gorgeous pearl appearance with killer pink iridescence (image of Songe on the lips at the end of this post!)

Ombre Essentielle / Soft Touch Eyeshadow – $29.50
• Sensation / Ivory Pink / Limited Edition…a pale, barely there, pink-toned beige.
• Palpitation / Soft Rose / Limited Edition…a beautiful light mauve rose pink.
• Admiration / Golden Yellow…very bright, perhaps appropriate as an accent shade.
• Exaltation / Bright Pink…a bold, yet very muted, almost magenta pink.
• Hésitation / Pink Plum…a brown-toned plum of medium depth in my experience
• Pulsion / Deep Plum…practically blackish purple in nature.
**With the exception of Sensation, all of these shades were velvety and packed with pigment!
Les 4 Ombres / Quadra Eye Shadow $59.00
• Mystic Eyes / Deep Brown, Light Pink, Shimmering Grey, Copper Brown / Repromote

Les Beiges / Healthy Glow Sheer Colour Broad Spectrum SPF 15 Sunscreen – $57.50
• N°40 / Repromote
Joues Contraste / Powder Blush – $45.00
• Innocence / Rosewood…this blush is fairly pigmented medium pink…too dark for my skin (which seems to turn everything darker than it appears upon initial application) but lovely for those looking for a true neutral pink flush.

Rouge Coco Shine / Hydrating Sheer Lipshine $35.00
• Intime / Soft Pink…a “my lips but better shade” if ever there was one!
• Viva / Intense Fuchsia / Limited Edition…bold and pigmented, this shade makes a statement.
• Confident / Intense Rosewood…a darker, rosy brown nude, this will be stunning on medium and medium-dark complexions.
• Aura / Plum…the most dramatic rosy plum, it reminds me of a slightly deeper, more saturated Clinique Black Honey or Lipstick Queen Medieval.

Upon swatching the Chanel collection, I stumbled upon these incredible Prada heels (link is for the black patent version); beguiled by their exquisite nude hue and immense comfort, I was compelled to splurge on these classic beauties.  I am confident that I will be able to wear them over the course of all four seasons as well as for years to come.  To attest to their immediate utility, I was able to wear them later on in the day for a business dinner with my husband; I am thrilled to report that they were an utter joy to don!  I can’t find a direct link for the nude pair online, but this pair from Nordstrom and this pair from Saks are definitely in the same vein.
Above: Dinner on Worth Avenue in Palm Beach…the architecture takes my breath away, each and every time I get the chance to visit.
Above: Wearing my new shoes with a simple, black fit and flair dress by Felicity and Coco…this frock is so brilliantly classic and I’ve already been able to wear it a few times since buying it in April!

Bottom Line:  I hope you found the Chanel Fall 2014 Collection swatches helpful and would love to hear what is catching your eye!  The collection is currently available in-store at Saks Fifth Avenue and online at Macy’s and I will include additional online retailer links here as the products continue to roll out!

I am facing the last couple of days of my vacation and am so thankful for the rest and relaxation. I hope your week has been lovely thus far…what is new with YOU?
Exciting posts coming up on BP in the coming days!

Okay, so first things first.. the shoes…TDF! Great buy and just so classically perfect for Spring/Summer. I personally love chunky heels and picked up two pairs this SS2014 with similar style heel. All the elegance of a heel, plus stability. A match made in heaven, especially for these old feet…ahem, I mean 'well travelled' feet. Haha

Count me stunned at how dark the new Chanel Joues swatched on you. I caught another recent review of the product–I am a bit of a Joues hoarder–and the pigmentation looked rather sketchy. The jury is still out on that one for me. I am, however, extremely enthusiastic about the direction of Chanel Fall 2014 collection overall. I think they went outside of their more traditional fare particularly with the eyeshadow colours. I anticipate I will definitely be picking up the rose/hot pink/plum shades.

    Enjoy your day! 🙂

      Hello Wendy,

I am so glad you appreciate the shoes as much as I do…they totally captured my heart and are comfortable to boot…so happy I could pick them up!

I, too, was surprise at how dark that Joues blush ended up being on my arm…to be fair, I have a tendency to turn blushes dark (chemistry, I suppose) but it is legitimately more of a medium pink that a uber-pale one! I love the gloss I picked up (actually, quite unique in the Glossimer line up) and felt that shades of the products, in general, were more innovative than collections past (e.g., "fall means lots of burgundy and wine and not much else…").

I can't wait to hear what you end up selecting…xx, happy weekend and do keep me posted,

Luckily I already own the Mystic Eyes. Ugh, now I covet the Hesitation shadow; my rationalization is that I don't have a color like that. So what if I have over 20 palettes and not counting duos and singles of shadows. I need an intervention! Swoon!

You look darling in that dress and shoes! I remember the 60's well, but feel I've lived through the 30's too with this danged cold I got coming back on the plane from N. Carolina….

    Love you! Susan

      Hello dearest Susan!

I completely know what you mean about needing an intervention…beautiful makeup can have that effect ; )

Thank you so much for your sweet words about my outfit! I am terribly sorry to hear that you've been battling a cold and hope that you feel better SOON…prayers for a speedy recovery and much love to you!!

The eye shadows are terrifying in the pan, but the swatches show that they may be wearable. I've been a bit apprehensive about this collection. Dark vivid colors don't always translate well on me, but I think I'll have to check this out once it hits my local counters.

Hello! Yes, the shadows are definitely more wearable than they may initially look…I can't wait to hear your thoughts on the collection when you check it out in person!

Hi, the link that you posted to the shoes doesn't work – It goes to some other Prada chunky-heeled duo-color sandals at Nords, not the ones you purchased. Do you have a link to the ones you bought? Thanks!

I just fixed the link, Anon…thanks for letting me know! Let me know if you have other questions and do take care!

I just checked…all you have to do is scroll down to the color option and choose "nude" !!

      I hope that helps ; )

Nevermind. The shoes you are linking to are very similar to your shoes, but they only have two straps in the front – One at the top and one at the bottom. Your shoes have three straps in front, including the one that runs vertical between the top and bottom. That is the part I like!! The shoes you keep linking to don't have that vertical strap at all.

I see what you mean…I did find the exact same t-strap shoe in black–on sale–(and updated the link to it in the post) and also linked to two similar pairs in nude (although they are not quite the same style).

I canNOT believe that you were at the Gardens Mall! I work less than 5 minutes from there, and I peruse that Saks about once a week. Girl, we could have had lunch and done some great shopping (not that you did too badly by yourself!).
Also, I've been known to do some serious damage at both the Giorgio Armani store and the Chanel store on Worth Ave.
Let me know next time you're going to be in my neighborhood!

That's wild, Sassa! I wish we could have met up…if only I'd known!

Yes, I managed to imbibe in quite a lot of retail activity while in Florida…all of those end-of-season sales were too much!

Email me your contact info and I will definitely let you know the next time I'm in town!

      xx and enjoy the weekend,
