Video: Current Morning Makeup Routine!

Above: Morning makeup routines…a painstakingly-crafted art.
Despite my best efforts, I am afraid I shall never be a natural “morning person.”  I am constantly in a rush, especially at the end of the school year, and consequently have pared my current makeup routine down to a five minute process that I will demonstrate in this video.  Why, you may ask, is this video 26 minutes instead of 5? The reason is simple…I decided to properly review some of my newer essential products in the context of the tutorial.  Copious amounts of talking + makeup application apparently equals 26 minutes ; ) I hope you enjoy the process nonetheless!

Thank you for responding to my earlier post:) Have just a quick question. The Scandinavia primer spray, do you think you could use it, later in the day, as a refresher for makeup?

As always, it is fun to watch your tutorials/video posts. I love most of the products that you used here and those I am not currently using, I am excited to try. One of my favorites is Chanel Les Beiges. The eyeshadow you used here is so pretty and I will be checking that out for my next purchase! I have also used YSL Touche' Eclat for many years but have wanted to try By Terry concealer for a while. So…having seen it applied, I may have to try that next. Thanks again for such good info on these beauty products. Take care and have a great weekend.

      Hi Jem!

Thank you! I am glad to hear you are loving the Chanel Les Beiges. Ahh…the By Terry Touch Veloutee is a must…truly, I find it so much better than the Touche Eclat and wonder why it took me so long to finally try it. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on it!

xoxo and have a fantastic weekend as well,

LOVE your videos!!!! I just get sucked in and then start researching on what to buy 🙂 Question on the SPF you sprayed on…Do you think it would be safe to put it on after makeup? Or would I have little white spots on my face which would be seen in pictures-
    Thank you!!!!!

      Hello Tristan!

Thank you ever so much! With regards to your question, I haven't found that the SPF spray creates any flashback in photos. I had it on over makeup in my most recent LMdB post (many of the face shots were taken with a flash) and it seems to be invisible. Of course, everyone's experience could be different, but for me, there is no unwanted effect!

      Hope that helps…xx,

Another fantastic video! I followed this tutorial on Monday and loved the natural (and quick!) process. I have two quick questions for you. First, although I think you mentioned this in response to other questions, did you say that you wear this sunscreen over makeup during the day? I am an SPF fiend but struggle to find ways to reapply on the go. If it doesn't disturb eye/face makeup, then I am picking this one up immediately! Second, do you find that your beauty blender works better with some foundations than others? I have had some limited success (the finish is divine), but I find I need four times as much foundation because it all ends up in the sponge. I used it with the YSL serum foundation and needed four pumps–ouch! I'm nervous to try it with By Terry or Cle de Peau, as those foundations are precious commodities! 🙂

Thanks again for your blog! It's my go-to source for inspiration. xoxo!

Thank you!! I am so glad that this tutorial worked for you and am honored you tried it! I do indeed spray a bit of the sunscreen before foundation and then more as necessary (e.g., if I am in the sun for a prolonged period of time) over my makeup. It works so very well without disturbing makeup whatsoever! With regards to the Beauty Blender, are you using it damp or dry? I find that if it is quite damp (and then rung out), then I get a lot more mileage on my foundation but if it is dry, it just absorbs it all before it reaches my face. Also, try tapping the initial application in all areas of your face first to evenly distribute the most concentrated amount (instead of blending out each area one at a time…I always need more if I do this).

I hope that helps…thanks for making BP a part of your routine!

      xoxo,

Thank you so much!! I've been using Evian spray to dampen my BB but I'm wondering if I am not using enough! I've been trying a hybrid approach–putting foundation on with my fingers and then using Mac's Mist & Fix to dampen the BB and blend it out, and this seems to be a happy medium. Thanks again for your help!

Happy to help! I truly get the sponge completely submerged and then wring it out before using it!
