FOTD: Glowing Skin, Berry Lips and a Sparkling Taupe Cat Eye

I hope you had a lovely weekend!  Mine, as always, felt like a flash…never enough time ; ) That aside, I am excited to share a warm-weather Face of the Day, focused on dewy skin, sparkling taupe lids (with a cat eye twist) and lush berry lips.
Kindly scroll on for swatches, details and images galore…

Products Used:

Sisley-Paris Phyto-Lip Twist is a tinted balm, colored like a lipstick and shiny like a gloss. It is applied with a single “twist” and leaves the lips supple, moisturized, visibly smoothed and plumped thanks to its cocktail of original plant-based active ingredients.

  • Its ultra-sensory smooth glide-on texture reinvents lipstick.
  • Its luminous, easy-to-wear shades match any occasion, from virtual nude to intense color.
  • Fun and practical, this new XXL pencil does not need a sharpener.

Above: The Sisley Phyto-Lip Twist #5 offers immense hydration and tons of pigmentation.
Above: #5 Berry is a deep, cool-toned red that brightens up the face.

Above: This couldn’t have been released at a better time…warm months are less daunting with the formidable strength of this primer.  It truly does what it says it does.
Above: Full ingredients list…very friendly to my sensitive skin thus far!
Above: The shadow/liner interplay.
Above: Outdoors, with a flash.
Above: Introducing a new jewelry addition, procured at the Renaissance Fair this weekend…it is “The Lady in the Moon” and is gold, silver, garnet and topaz.  Love it!

Bottom Line: I hope you enjoyed this FOTD…what products are you gravitating towards lately? So many good things ahead on BP…next up, a skincare update, a new product rundown and a video featuring my 14 favorite nude lip color options!
Have a lovely week…xx,

      Hi SJ!

Seriously…it is the perfect release date for the warmer months ahead. So far, I am completely loving it…very powerful for keeping makeup in place in the heat.

      Thanks for your sweet comment…xx,

Hello…I purchased it at a jewelry booth at the Original Renaissance Faire in Southern CA; unfortunately, I cannot recall the exact name of the jeweler but will report back here if I can find the name!

I adore that necklace! I must have it! I haven't seen you wear too many berry lip colours, but it looks fabulous on you! Is this similar to the Clinique Chubby Stick? And what's the longevity?

Also, I've seen the Skindinavia primer online, but I was always hesitant, thinking it wouldn't do much. I love a good makeup primer, but I have yet to find something that properly smoothes out my canvas and improve longevity. Everyone adores the Hourglass primer but I find that it can make my makeup look somewhat cakey. I like the original Laura Mercier one, but it doesn't help with longevity at all. Can't wait to hear your thoughts about it!

      Hello MG,

Thank you, love! It is so unique and very easy to wear. It was handmade by Taylor Jewelry (out of San Francisco…super hard to track down online). You are right…I don't normally gravitate towards berry shades but I love the texture and wear of this one. I find that I get 4-5 hours of wear time and its extremely hydrating; similar to the Clinique Chubby Sticks but better hydration, in my experience!

I have used a host of primers over the years…the Hourglass Veil is a classic (and I've gone through a few bottles) but the slight white cast is a hit/miss with some. The Skindinavia is invisible and can be seamlessly layered over other skincare/primers (like the LMdB Peau Vierge or By Terry Cellularose CC) while still performing very well. Pretty excited about it thus far ; )

I hope your week is going well…xoxo and talk soon,

I'm also loving your necklace and this FOTD!! I am wondering if you use anything else under the Peau Vierge/CC Lumi Serum combo? Are there any 'skin care' steps or a moisturizer used before starting in on the 'make up' part with this combo? I think that you may have done a post on this subject before, but I can't seem to find it, so I wanted to ask as I am considering adding in the Peau Vierge to my regimen but wasn't sure where it would fit… Thanks Beauty Professor!!

      Hi Summer,

Thank you so much!! With regards to your question, I have been in a major rush in the mornings lately and, upon washing, have been using a single pump each of the LMdB Peau Vierge #2 and By Terry Cellularose #1 and #4, mixed together and applied as my first base as skincare, primer and illuminator! In cooler, drier times, I may use a pump of either the La Prairie Cellular Swiss Dry Oil or the NUDE ProGenius Oil but right now, the trio is working perfectly to prepare and balance my skin before foundation application.

      Hope that helps!

      xoxo,

Oh My! That Sisely #5 Berry looks ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLY beautiful on you!! Truly, you must wear more of these darker colors and show off those gorgeous lips! I'm now obsessing over thinking of this color. I'm not going to go $50 for it, so do you know of any close dupes? Maybe from Bite or something? Gosh, it's wonderful on you. Did I say you looked fabulous in it? Argh, I want something like that (and to look like you). XOXOX Susan

      Hello Susan!

Lovely to hear from you, my friend! Thank you for your charming words about the lip color…I know you have always been an advocate for me to branch out into darker, bolder lip color territory : )

It is quite an investment…Sisley almost always is…I know that Lipstick Queen (check out the sheerer "Saint" range) has similar shades (more in the $25 range) that may be worth taking a peek at!

Thanks again for all of your sweet words…xoxo, talk soon and have the loveliest of weekends!
