Burt’s Bees Lip Wear…Four Shades, Multiple Textures, Endless Possibilities!

Above: A veritable Burt’s Bees lip wardrobe!
Bees are exquisite creatures…aside from being visually stunning (got to love a gold + black color scheme), they product a wealth of natural resources; from wax to honey (both favorites in my life!), the resourcefulness of bees is peerless!  I recently had the chance to try a spectrum of lip products from the esteemed Burt’s Bees line.  Renown for eco-friendly, cruelty-free practices, Burt’s Bees offers distinctly gorgeous formulas for all beauty preferences.
Kindly scroll on for images and details featuring my Burt’s Bees wardrobe and the Bottom Line…

First up is the Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Sweet Violet.  This nourishing, Shea butter-infused balm is surprisingly pigmented and offers a wash of silky, slightly shiny hydration that lasts for hours.  Sweet Violet is a cool-toned, “my lips but better” pink shade that is simultaneous subdued and modern.  Great to slick on for some instant polish, even without a mirror!

Sometimes a girl needs a healthy dose of shimmer.  That being said, the shimmer of the Burt’s Bees Lip Shimmer is Peony is refreshingly restrained yet luminous.  The delicate, moisturizing formula offers a gossamer wash of barely there color with a decidedly radiant finish.  Peony is a soft, pale pink with silver undertones.

One of the latest products in the Burt’s Bees collection is its lip gloss, which is 100% natural lip gloss free of sulfates, parabens, phthalates and petrochemicals!  Smooth and glowing, with a perfect harmony of pigment and light-reflecting shimmer, Spring Splendor is a non-sticky and bemusing medium rose shade.

Finally, the recently-released Burt’s Bees Lip Shine in Pucker is infused with Apricot Wax, which glides over the lips with ease, leaving an insanely shiny finish in its wake.  Lacking shimmer, this formula harnesses the power of ultra-reflective, mirror-like shine for an eye-catching effect.  Pucker is a sheer berry shade.

Due to the vast array of textures and finishes offered in the Burt’s Bees line, I highly suggest experimenting with layering them for a customized effect.  Balms + shimmers + glosses + lip shines = endless possibilities!

Bottom Line: The Burt’s Bees lip color options are simply splendid! Worn alone, each formula offers a sheer wash of vibrant color and endless moisture and comfort.  Combining them yields even more potential for pretty…thank goodness for the aforementioned bees ; ) To find your perfect shade, I invite you to peruse the Burt’s Bees Shade Finder…can’t wait to hear what you discover; please share in the comments section below!

    Hi,
I have used the tinted lip balm in Petunia and loved the slight colour it imparts. They are also very moisturising for my very dry lips. This makes me want to try a few more of their products.

Thanks for the ideas to layer them together.

    Take care and talk soon

      Hello Julie!

Isn't the tinted lip balm amazing? I love its texture and hydration powers! For me, layering is a must when it comes to lip color…it's creative but, even better, it helps those of us who are indecisive when it comes to committing to a single shade ; )

      xoxo and talk soon,

    Hello
Your foundation/ base looks totally flawless in this review. May I ask what it is ? And also, are you wearing the By Terry eyeshadow stick in Bronze Moon? Totally love the look!

      Hello Lucy,

Thank you ever so much! I am wearing the Cle de Peau Cream Foundation in O20 (reviewed late last month). You have a good eye…I am indeed wearing the By Terry Bronze Moon as well as a touch of the Brown Perfection as well!

    Hi,

In the very last photo I was wondering if you are wearing the Sweet Violet by itself? it looks like you have a gloss over it. I really love the color though?

      Hi Melissa,

Thanks for the question…the last picture is just Sweet Violet but I put on many layers (hence, the shiny finish) so that it would adequately show up in the image.

      Hope that helps…xx,
