Tom Ford Summer 2014 Update: How I Use the Lip Shimmers

Above: The Tom Ford Summer 2014 Lip Shimmers resplendent in their ivory and gold cases.
After posting my spoils from the Tom Ford Summer 2014 collection earlier this week, I was met with a barrage of questions regarding swatches on the lips and how I might use the Lip Shimmers as highlighters.  Consequently, I took a round of pictures at the end of this crazy past week and am happy to share the additional details on the utility of the  both as a standalone lip color as well as an illuminator!
Kindly scroll on for details and images as well as the Bottom Line…
Above: Here is Solar Gold alone on the lips…it has a faintly rosy depth that makes my lips look slightly darker than their natural color.
Above: It’s moisturizing and lush!

Above: Moonlight alone on the lips…it is a pearly white that also appears to be a faint pink when combined with pigmented lips…very 1960’s Mod.
Above: I’ll be using Moonlight all spring and summer!

Above: I have also been using Moonlight as a highlighter…I sweep it along my brow bone for subtle illumination.  It is not as reflective as a traditional highlighter but adds just the right amount of gleam for more restrained moments.
Above: A bit more along the upper cheekbones and a touch down the bridge of the nose…this lip shimmer is a truly utilitarian!
Above: The full effect!…subtly glowy.
Bottom Line: I have no regrets about purchasing these Tom Ford Lip Shimmers (available at Neiman MarcusNordstromSaks Fifth Avenue and Selfridges).  They are delightfully moisturizing and just pigmented enough to be worn alone for an ethereal look.  As a lover of pale lips, I know they will be endlessly utilized.  As demonstrated, I also adore the fact that they can be used as impromptu highlighters when the moment requires…I hope this pictorial was useful for those of you who currently own these gems or who might be contemplating adding them to your collection!
Have a beautiful Sunday…xx,
