Mystery Haircare Products…Video and Musings!

Above: My hair, directly following usage of my mystery haircare products.
Above: What’s in the box?
I’ve always liked a good mystery.  During my elementary school years, I spent a great deal of time in the mystery section at the library and felt a simultaneous sense of accomplishment and disappointment when I discovered that I had, in fact, read every Nancy Drew book at my local branch.  There’s just something about the predicting, the unfolding of the plot and the satisfaction of being right (on those rare occasions when predictions are accurate!) that only a well-executed mystery can embody.  Consequently, when I was given the chance to try a set of mystery haircare products with the promise of being told what they were in the weeks to come, I was intrigued to say the least.
Scroll on for my initial experience as well as a brief video…
Upon acceptance of the opportunity, I was sent three unlabeled haircare products: a shampoo, conditioner and styling spray and instructed to use them regularly for a week.  Since I was and condition my hair daily, this span of time would be ample to allow me to properly experience the nature and performance of the products.
Above: Directions for using the haircare…basic but appreciated nonetheless.
Above: Swatches of the shampoo, conditioner and styling product (which felt like a light oil) in direct sunlight.  I purposely swatched them on my forearm to make sure I didn’t have any allergic reactions (I’m very sensitive) and am happy to report that I didn’t!
Here are my observations thus far:
  • The shampoo and conditioner have a marvelous warm brown sugar-esque scent, akin to a sweet vanilla and or/Moroccan oil.
  • The shampoo has a marvelous lather and rinsed easily, leaving my hair feeling extremely clean.
  • The conditioner has a rich, silky texture and, after leaving it in for two minutes, I found that it rinsed effortlessly and left my hair feeling smooth (even while wet).
  • I sprayed the styling product into my wet hair and determined that it must some sort of light oil because my hair was instantly shinier and detangled making it very easy to brush out before drying.
  • Upon completing the blowdrying process, my hair felt soft, voluminous and silky…very impressed!

Above: In wonderment…can’t wait to find out what I’m using!
Bottom Line: Based on their efficacy, I absolutely cannot wait to find out what these hair care products are.  Any guesses?  I am slated to find out next week and as soon as I do, I will share the details in yet another post ; ) Hope your week is off to a great start…

    Your hair looks gorgeous.

I have a quick question… I am a métier de beauté peau vierge user and I'm about to run out so I went to Neiman Marcus site to place another order but the bottle(silver bottle) I use is not available. Instead I see it's in a black tube now and instead of $125 it is $175. Are they the same product? Is it reformulated? Why the price hike? Curious to see if you know.

      Thank you ever so much!

With regards to your Peau Vierge question, here's what I know: LMdB is in the midst of repackaging the 1 ounce bottle (the silver one) due to issues with the pump. In the meanwhile, they have a 2 ounce squeeze tube option that is indeed $50 more, but you are getting double the amount of product so if you use it daily and can swing the price, it is definitely a savings. I am told that the new 1 ounce packaging should be out soon but I don't have an exact date yet! Just to be clear…it is being repackaged but NOT reformulated (thankfully…I love this stuff!!).

      I hope that helps…xx,

Yes that helps. I guess I've been lucky, I'm on my second bottle and never have any problems with the pump. Thanks for the info.

Glad to hear it! I, too, haven't had pump issues but know a couple people who have!

      Take care,

It's Suave's new line, I think! Moroccan might be it, given the spray oil/styler. 🙂
