Best Beauty Products of 2013…a Video Overview!

Above: Ready to face 2014…bring on the beauty products!

Hello and Happy New Year, lovely readers!

For my first blog post of 2014, I am thrilled to present my overview of the best skincare and beauty products of 2013…this time around, I chose to select products featured in my blog posts for each month of the year.  Consequently, the depth breadth of products I tried over the course of the entire year are reflected, rather than simply the ones that are “fresh on my mind” right now!  Be forewarned, this is a slightly lengthy video; I much prefer to create shorter reviews, but I had the expanse of the year to consider and did my very best to be as succinct as humanly possible.  I also added a “Non-Negotiables and New Discoveries” section that runs from 19:55 to the end of the video ; )

Thank you for all of your encouragement and support…from my xoxo from my heart,

Thank you! In the picture, taken right before filming the video, I am wearing the Suqqu Frame Fix N foundation (in a 002/003 combination), a bit of RMS Buriti Bronzer, some Illamasqua Katie blush and some of the Sara Happ Nude Lip Slip over Rouge Bunny Rouge lipliner in Roald.

      I hope that helps…xoxo,

Hi B.P wonderful video!! Us beauty addicts well, you never have to worry about us thinking the videos are too long OR boring! You do a great job on noting your favs and I really appreciate that. Past experiences & ordering have told me we like the same kind of products, finishes ect. So knowing your favorites is so helpful to me as I go on your reccomendations. I was truly excited today to not only receive my 2 Tom Ford lippies but also got the Koh gendo foundation, and my new U.S version of Kanebo foundation. Xmas all over again!! My only regret was not ordering the Koh gen do illuminator which I will do asap. Unfortunately, I came down with a case of pink-eye late last nite, UGH, and had to go to Dr. today for drops. Needless to say, I can't play with my new makeup yet but did try the lipsticks. I got Spanish pink & nude beige. Like them but need a whole face done to really judge. Love the feeling, very comfortable & luxurious. Theres soo many products on this video I want to order. I really like the USLU lipstick. The coral brightens up your face. I need that here in the dreary cold N.E I have a feeling the Koh gen do in 213 is a bit light. 🙁 I may return & wait for the new shade. Again, thank you so much for this great highly entertaining & insightful video!! xoxo

      Hello Lynn!

Thank you so much…I appreciate the reassurance regarding the length of time of the video. I know how busy everyone is so I always try to make them as brief as I can ; ) I hope you are weathering the eastern storm safely, all bundled up indoors! Congrats on your new product arrivals…all favorites of mine for sure! I am so sorry to hear about your pink eye…not fun. As a contact lens wearer for years, I am prone to conjunctivitis and have had a few obnoxious cases in my life. I hope your eyes are feeling much better today. I think you would love the USLU AAL…it's bright without being over the top and the formula is so hydrating. With regards to the KGD Aqua, I suggest mixing a drop or two of a darker foundation with it to get the right shade…#213 is sure to have the best undertones for you, even if it is a tad light?!

xoxo and talk soon, dear friend!

Hi B.P thank you for the kind words, my eyes are much better after 2 days of drops. I forget that you wear contacts & remember my friend having the same issues. I think I will try to mix the Koh gen do with a darker foundation now that I have time tomorrow off from work. I keep meaning to order the ardency inn as well knowing it's 1 you like to mix. Also, do you think the rms bronzer lasts long? As always, I appreciate your input. xo Lynn

    Hi BP!
Your video could not have been more timely – I have been so unhappy with all my blushers recently and was at a loss at what to try. And voila! your video appears! On my way to try the Sisley pinky-coral. Pink corals are the the most flattering on me so I can't wait to try it. The fantastical packaging makes it even more tempting!!

I also want to try the By Terry Touch Expert. I love By Terry and imagine they do concealer right. Thank you for highlighting this product!

I want to echo Lynne's sentiments that your videos cannot possibly ever be too long. I enjoy every every minute of all this cosmetics goodness!!

Great video – it was all I hoped it would be!!!

      Hello SJ!

So glad to hear this…I hope you love Sisley's Pinky-Coral as much as I do! The By Terry Touch expert is just marvelous…I don't know what took me so long to try it ; ) It is great for the under eye region as well as general brightening and perfecting!

Thanks for your words about my video length and am happy that it lived up to your expectations…I truly take your opinion to heart and will continue to produce informative videos, regardless of their length ; )

Have a beautiful weekend and talk soon…xoxo,

Hi BP! What a fantastic and original way of breaking down your favorites of 2013! I have several of the products you mentioned (gee, I wonder why hee hee), and many that you remind me I must try! I think one of my absolute favorites, along with the beloved Kanebo Sensai Cellular Foundation, is the By Terry Ombre Black Star in Bronze Moon!! I can see why you have gone through several tubes! I am using it almost every day, and that is unusual for me. I wanted to share that I have been layering it over the Chanel IdO in Initiation, and WOWOWOWOW! It is an amazing combo and I get compliments every time I wear it out. It creates a super long lasting intense but very daytime (and evening) wearable look. I actually layer a lot of things on top of the Initiation, but this is my absolute favorite eye combo right now.

I hope your New Year has started off great as I am sure it has! I look forward to learning more about the amazing products you always present for us in 2014, and maybe just maybe I will meet you in person!!! Hugs!

      Hello Shoshana!

Thank you so much…I truly appreciate your feedback on my format and love that you have so many of the products already ; ) Oh my goodness, I know what you mean about pairing Bronze Moon with Chanel's Initiation (great minds think alike!)…I just tried doing that this week (though I put Initiation over Bronze Moon…now I must try the reverse like you've been doing!i). Thanks for the idea!

I hope your New Year has been lovely thus far…I've been enjoying the final days off of work and am celebrating my birthday tomorrow…oh my! Also, I can't believe it but the blog's two year anniversary is on Monday…time has truly flown by. Thanks for being such a wonderful friend; I, too, hope we are able to meet in person this year!

xoxo, have a blissful weekend and talk soon,

    Happy happy birthday BP!

I forgot to say "HUGE thanks" for turning me on to Kanebo Sensai Cream Foundation this year. One of my very favorite discoveries of the year and all due to you. I absolutely LOVE it. Love isn't even a strong enough word. It's super fab. And I tried a LOT of foundations this year.

Enjoy your special day. Looking forward to more BP reviews in 2014.

What a great video! Not to long at all especially when it comes to beauty products I loved it.
There are so many great products mentioned and it's really cool to see what you like best through out the year.
It has given me a huge list of things to try out during the year.
I was just looking to buy the Guerlain bronzer for the summer but was unsure of what colour to buy but the colour used in your video looks perfect, not to dark or orange just a nice gentle bronze! Does it contain any shimmer?

      Thank you, Julie!

So glad to hear that it wasn't too lengthy ; )

I cannot recommend the Guerlain Four Seasons Terracotta Bronzer in 02 Natural Blondes enough…of the four quadrants, three are matte and one is slightly shimmery for a natural effect. It's simply perfect!
