Fresh from Australia: Mirenesse Lip Bomb + Flawless Revolution Foundation

I recently had the chance to try some cutting-edge beauty products from the Australian brand, Mirenesse.  This line offers a full spectrum of cosmetics, and being the foundation and lip gloss devotee that I am, I opted to experience the Lip Bomb and Flawless Revolution Foundation, much to my utter delight!

Retailing for around $35 (based on the current Australian to USD conversion), the Lip Bomb Glossy Lacquer Stain Crystal Shine formula offers the benefits of a pigmented lip color, lip gloss and stain while simultaneously keeping the lips hydrated and comfortable for hours.  Here’s what Mirenesse has to say about the Lip Bomb…
A Revolutionary colour that combines gloss, stain and lacquer all in one!

A satisfying NEW INNOVATION in lip colour; beyond gloss, stain or lip lacquer. Colour that drenches your lips for a juicy high impact colour that’s feather-light and super-moist with a velvety finish. Power packed with non-smearing pigment that lasts and lasts. Colours may be mixed easily to create countless intense or nude looks depending on your fashion mood! Infused with a breath refreshing mint taste and Lip Perfecting Spheres plus caring vitamins. Who says you can’t have it all?, Apply a small amount and mix shades to create your own personal shade! Infinity Lip™ Applicator allows for professional application of precision colour. Don’t apply too much! It’s better to apply a thin layer first then build it up if you want more colour. For extra long wear pair with a matching lip liner.

Key Ingredients:
• Lip Perfecting Spheres,
• Botanical Oils & Vitamin E
• Formulated for Sensitive Skin, Mirenesse Cosmetics are pharmaceutically formulated using organic Australian and safe, high quality and unique ingredients to minimise the risk of allergies.

Shade #18 is a gorgeous pale peachy pink with complex golden shimmer that, despite its light texture, builds to full opacity with one pass.  It has a minty taste and brief slight tingle that is not uncomfortable on the lips.  I love the slightly thicker non-sticky texture…it truly builds dimension on the lips, making them appear lush and full. The unique flocked doe-foot applicator spreads the product evenly but since it is so concentrated, start with just a bit on the wand to avoid over-applying…a little goes a long way!

What would the experimentation with a beauty line be without taking a foray into foundation territory?  Retailing for close to $80 (based on the current exchange rate), the Mirenesse Flawless Revolution 3-in-1 Perfector features a moisturizer, primer and foundation hybrid, harmoniously suspended in a futuristic spiral, which is dispensed through an airless pump.  Here are the official details from Mirenesese…
Beyond makeup. A 3-in-I multitasking skin perfector with revolutionary Chromafusion and Tripeptide Technology to instantly layer skin with an invisible skin like 24hr triplex matrix of line smoothing moisturiser, pore refining primer, and sheer colour corrector.

Key Ingredients:
1st Layer, The Moisturiser:
• Betaglucan – protective antioxidant complex
• Hyaluronate – the super hydrator plumps fine lines
2nd Layer, The Primer:
• Silicone fillers with mineral sunscreen prime and smooth the skin
3rd Layer, The Colour:
• Chromafusion Transparent pigments cover skin naturally without a mask-like effect

Ideal for getting the advantages of both skincare and makeup in one product! Once a day fast application on face and neck layers 3 products in the correct sequence, sizing each layer’s particles so it perfectly slips one layer on top of the other layer without you having to do it.

You’ll be ready to go in a flash knowing you have applied the best of skincare and the best of makeup all in one Flawless Revolution.

• 100% Perfect smooth firm skin in a flash that stays that way all day!
• Corrects signs of ageing such as lines, enlarged pores, uneven skin tone, loss of firmness in one simple application to leave skin looking flawless in a single revolution.
• Over time the amazing skin treatment benefits will be revealed to leave your skin free from discolourations, dullness, and you will see a renewed luminosity and hydration.

I selected Flawless Vienna, which is a neutral light beige shade for N/NC/NW 23-25 skin tones.  When I first pumped it out of the bottle, I thought it was going to be too pink, but once it blended into my skin, it morphed into a lovely light neutral (with even slightly golden leanings) beige…a seamless match, indeed!  The texture is initially a touch startling because all three parts of the formula are still a bit separated…one dab of my dampened Beauty Blender, however, and the foundation was instantly ready for application.
Silky and easy to blend, this foundation offers buildable medium to medium/full coverage; I find that two pumps is ample to cover my entire face with a natural satin matte finish that is glowy without implementing the usage of shimmer.  I chose not to set this with powder and found that a touch up wasn’t necessary for at least six hours of wear.  It neither pooled into pores, nor settled into fine lines; in fact, quite the opposite was true.  A single application created a smooth and even canvas, prepped and primed for the makeup to come.
There is a subtle herbal scent to this formula (which I didn’t find bothersome) and the ingredients have in no way irritated my very sensitive skin.  Although I haven’t yet used it long enough to weigh in on the long-term skincare benefits, I love the way it makes my skin look…imperfections be gone!  All in all, a delightful foundation discovery.

Above: An extreme closeup (yikes!)…as always, no retouching here.  This truly creates a flawless finish!

Bottom Line: I love the Mirenesse products I have had the privilege of trying thus far.  The Lip Bomb formula is truly unique.  From its space-age applicator to its lush, long lasting color, this lipstick/gloss/stain is incredible and #18 is the quintessential peachy pink for pale lip shade lovers.  The Flawless Revolution Foundation was a brilliant surprise…I honestly wasn’t prepared for the formidable medium coverage and hours of wear that this spiral sensation yields.  In light of this tremendously positive experience, I  cannot wait to try other products from the Mirenesse line!

    Hi There!
Would you say that this lippie is close to the by terry honeymoon?

      Hello!

I would say that the color/tone is the same between the two, but texturally, they are quite different. The Lip Bomb #18 is more opaque and shimmery. By Terry Honeymoon Kiss is sheer and glimmery but still offers a peachy pink pop of color. Also, the Lip Bomb feels more like a lipstick and the Honeymoon Kiss is a slightly sticky (but not annoying!) gloss.

      Hope that helps!

    Hello dearest B.P,

Shade 18 looks beautiful on you looking almost 'pearlescent' in appearance, and really enhancing your overall glow! I recently picked up:
    – Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation and Sheer Beige illuminator,
    – Chanel Les Beige's powder,
    – Dior Rouge Haute lipstick in Royal
    – YSL Glossy Stain in Fushia Tomboy

I'm absolutely adoring the foundation which provides a skin like finish but is build-able, adding refinement and dimension. Thank you so much for introducing me to this brand and recommending the foundation. I also picked up their concealer pallet but I am still waiting for it to be delivered yet. B.P have you tried this? I love the YSL stains as they feel creamy and moisturizing however retain a formidable amount of staying power, given that they are glosses.

I can't wait to hear how things are going with you and hope that you nearly finished your Christmas shopping and all the organization that goes with it!

    Take care, Karen

      Hello dear Karen!

Thank you so much…yes, the #18 is does translate a bit shimmery and pearlescent, indeed! Congratulations on your new product acquisitions…I can personally attest to the great wonder of at least three of the five of them ; )

I think that the reformulation of the Aqua foundation was definitely for the better and am so happy you love it! The coverage, finish and wear are just superb. I haven't used the concealer yet; I've heard, however, that it is wonderful for darkness in the under eye region.

All is well with me…excited to wake up to a two week break off from teaching…my husband took a week off as well and I cannot wait to just be home and enjoy the coming days ahead! Last light was dedicated to a marathon shopping time with my mom (quite successful!) and I think one more afternoon should take care of everything! What are your plans for Christmas and New Years?

xoxo, talk soon and Merry Christmas!

      Hello dear B.P,

How exciting that you have 2 weeks off and that you a cross-over week with your husband! I'm sure that you are looking forward to spending some quality together and catching up with family. I will also be taking 2 weeks off and cannot wait to be able to spend time with loved ones, go on fun outings, catch up on movies and try some different beauty looks!

      Hello Karen,

Lovely to hear from you! Yes, this two weeks off is thrilling…we both definitely feel like we need the rest and I feel blessed to have this time. Well done on finishing all of your shopping…I wrapped most everything today; it was nice to take my time and have a fire and an old movie going…just enjoy the process. I think my mom and I may have just a bit more shopping to do tomorrow before finally being completely done. So glad that you are having two weeks off as well…it sounds like your plans are quite similar to mine and we'll have lots of fun stories to swap ; )

Thank you ever so much for your kind Christmas and New Year's wishes. I count your friendship as a true blessing and am glad that we were able to connect here! Merry Christmas and the Lord's bounty in the New Year!

      Hello Nona,

Good to hear from you! I haven't found that this particular formula oxidizes on me, however, everyone's skin can react differently to a product. I know how you are addicted to foundations and can certainly relate ; ) I like to use the Kanebo Sensai Cellular Performance Powder Foundation as a setting/touch up powder over the KS CP Cream foundation, however, it does have a great deal of coverage and could likely act as foundation on its own. I just use it with a very light hand so that I don't wear too much! Also, the Triple Touch Compact has a more shimmery, sheerer effect than the foundation powder.

I hope that helps! Have a blessed Christmas and do keep in touch…xoxo,

      Hello,

I actually received it directly from the company; when I do get Mirenesse products, I order them online at Mirenesse(dot)com.

      Take care!
