FOTD: Casual + Coral with USLU Airlines

To commence my post-Christmas blogging flow, I offer a simple FOTD: a clean canvas punctuated by untamed hair and soft coral lip color.
Kindly scroll on for additional images and a full product breakdown…

Products Used:

FACE

3. RMS Buriti Bronzer (as a contour and for facial warmth…applied with an angled brush)
4. Surratt Artistique Blush in Duchess (a delightfully pale peach) on the apples of cheeks (swatched HERE)
5. Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation Illuminator in Sheer Beige, dabbed along the light catching points of the face (reviewed HERE)
6. Chanel Poudre Universelle in Preface (new for Spring 2014) to set makeup
EYES
1. Surratt Autographique Eyeliner in Chat Noir (along upper lids for a subtle cat eye…simply phenomenal formula)
2. Chanel Illusion d’Ombre in Initiation smudged along lower lash line
3. Chantecaille Supreme Cils Mascara (incredible formula…review soon!)
4. Surratt Artistique Blush in Aureole along upper brow bone (swatched HERE)
LIPS
1. USLU Airlines lipstick in AAL, a soft bright peach with medium coverage (additional images below)
2. Buxom Full On Lip Cream in White Russian on center of lower lip
Total application time: about eight minutes

Above: USLU Airlines Lip Color in AAL, a soft coral salmon.  This German-made formula is organic and extremely hydrating.  LOVE.
Above: Every lipstick in the USLU Airlines line is named after an international airport…clever, indeed.
Above: Swatches of AAL (heavy and light) reveal the gorgeous natural sheen and significant pigmentation of the formula.
Bottom Line: Two weeks off (which has now dwindled down to nine days…oh my!) means unbrushed hair, relaxed, casual makeup and the most comfortable clothes known to (wo)man!  I am loving the USLU Airlines lip color formula and cannot wait to feature AAL’s baby pink little sister, FBU, in an upcoming post.  Speaking of imminent posts, next up, a video featuring nearly twenty new products (some of which are mentioned in this very post) that have quickly become a part of my current skincare and beauty routines.
Prepare for product overload ; )
xoxo,

      Hello Lynn,

Thank you so much! Skincare lately has consisted of the NUDE ProGenius oil (on cold, dry days), the Kanebo Cellular Performance Wrinkle Repair Cream (a steady part of my routine always), Erno Lazlo Phormula 3-9 eye cream (in my most recent video), Peau Vierge, and an occasional dose of the Orlane B-21 Extraordinaire serum (a couple of times a week).

      Hope all is well…xoxo,

Hi B.P, question: my lips are sooo dry with the cold temps here in R.I I just ordered 2 shades of Tom Ford lipstick & I'm excited but do you think they will be hydrating enough?? This color & pigment of this USLU brand looks amazing. what can you suggest for night time? I have korres & fresh but they are just o.k for my severly dry lips. Thanks for your input. xoxo Happy New year

I totally know what you mean about dry lips…that is a perennial issue for me as well. The Tom Ford formula is quite moisturizing but it also depends a bit on the shade…for example, Nude Vanille is more hydrating than Blush Nude is on my lips. In terms of balms, I've been using a few different products…I like the Fresh Sugar Shine gloss (on my nightstand…use it the most), EnvyDerm lip plumper, Rouge Bunny Rouge Luxe lip balm, Jouer Lip Enhancer (always in my makeup bag) and Koh Gen Do Chiffon lip balm. All are fairly effective but nothing 100% takes care of dryness so I do a lot of rotation. Oh, I also like putting the NUDE ProGenius oil on my lips at night (when I use it)…it seems to help lock in moisture.

The USLU formula is delightfully hydrating due to its ingredients…I find that my lips don't dry out at all, even with extended wear!

I hope that helps…xoxo and talk soon,

This is one of my favorite looks to date! You look relaxed & refreshed! I'm not familiar with USLU Airlines – will have to do a bit of research. And will, of course, be watching for the pink lipstick post as well. Enjoy the rest of your time off!

      Hello Lov2Read!

Thank you ever so much! I might look relaxed because I am finally catching up on sleep ; ) It is wonderful to not wake up to an alarm (or three alarms, as is the case with me!) right now and I am feeling more rested than I have in a long time. The USLU Airlines is quite difficult to track down in the US…I found it at Woodley and Bunny which stocks many niche and organic lines. My dear friend Merrady works at the 3rd St./LA location and she was a great help in describing shades I might like over the phone. The FBU shade (coming up soon!) is equally delightful, albeit a touch more subtle in tone.

Thank you for your well wishes…have a beautiful weekend and talk soon!

This is simply an AMAZING look for you! I think the more "undone" hair and makeup makes you look like a teenager. And loving the coral lip color on you. I know you love your pinky peach nudes with a passion, but this color really works on you! It could even be a little stronger and would still look fantastic. All in all, the "less is more" approach is nothing but a winner for you 🙂

      Hello dear Deb!

Many thanks for the kind words! The last week or so off of work has been so nice for doing the bare minimum in terms of getting ready etc. Also, I've been getting more sleep than usual which is a total blessing! The coral shade was a few steps out of my pinky nude comfort zone but this formula made it feel easier than normal and I am enjoying the experience. Thank you for the encouragement ; ) One more week of unmitigated "less is more" ahead…very grateful!

Hope all is well with you…xoxo, have a lovely weekend and talk soon,

Hi and thank you for talking about an German brand based in Berlin. It is always nice for me to hear an beauty blogger from the States talk about an German brand!
Uslu is very into nailpolishes, that`s how they start her buisiness.Very good quality and total niche.
Guys check out the website it is very special and reflects the Berlin vibe.Btw. they do very realistic swatches on her website.
    Greetings from Germany

My pleasure, Susanne! I am glad that you liked this post ; ) I love discovering lines that are less known in the US and USLU Airlines is no exception…the two lipsticks I bought are exquisite. Thanks for sharing the extra details about the line…I can't wait to try other products from USLU!

xoxo and warm regards from America : )
