Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder Palette…Review and Video Tutorial!

Above: The limited-edition Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder Palette features three extremely versatile shades!
It is no secret that I am a massive fan of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder.  The finely-milled texture creates a perfecting veil that instantly softens the look of lines, pores and unevenness, mimicking the illusion of extremely flattering lighting.  I have both Dim and Diffused Light and adore their ability to simultaneously refresh and refine my skin with both mattifying and luminizing properties.
Above: The gorgeous palette also comes with a mini version of the spectacular Hourglass Mineral Veil primer.
Recently, I had the chance to try the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette, which features not one but three shades of the gorgeous powder in a single chic and streamlined palette.  This limited edition product, which retails for $58 and is sold exclusively at Sephora, also contains a mini version of the line’s hallowed Mineral Veil (perfect for travel!).

The palette is housed in signature Hourglass packaging…the shiny, slightly metallic brown case is both sleek and well-crafted and features a generous mirror and a satisfying and secure “click” when closed.

The three shades contained within the palette are extremely versatile, making this the only compact necessary for a variety of purposes:
  • Dim Light is a peachy beige that blurs unevenness and imperfections…I adore using it to remove shine and even out my T-zone.
  • Incandescent Light is a limited-edition iridescent pink shade that can be applied to the face for an all-over glow.  I love using it on my brow bones, upper cheek bones and Cupid’s bow as a highlighter.
  • Radiant Light is a light yellow-based bronze with delicate golden shimmer.  It works well as a pale bronzer and, when applied under the cheek bones, serves as a subtle contour that brings significant structure and warmth to the entire face!

Kindly scroll on for closeup images and swatches of each shade as well as a VIDEO review/tutorial and pictures of the palette on a human face in various lighting situations…

Bottom Line: The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder Palette is simply divine…the three shades work together to mattify and perfect, while simultaneously adding an ethereal warmth and luminosity to the face.  I delight in the fact that such possibility is housed in a a single compact and plan on carrying this utilitarian wonder in my purse for months to come!  Highly recommended.

There's no question, I absolutely must have this. I've used Radiant Light daily since purchasing it about six months ago and Dim Light was next on my list to pick up

    Hello dear B.P,

Thanks for showcasing, and drawing attention, to this gorgeous product that is worthy of adulation and praise. I own both the radiant light and incandescent shades and really love the quality of the product, particularly how finely milled they are. I also adore that they do not highlight any dry patches when used to refine and set the skin.

Thanks for suggesting the Koh Gen Do product, this brand has recently found it's way into one of our specialist beauty stores so I am super excited at being able to go in store and check it out, particularly to get foundation matched.

I am looking forward to your future posts, more cute pics of Jethro and of course, inspiring videos!

Wishing you a fabulous week xoxo

I am so excited that you have immediate access to the Koh Gen Do line in Australia…I love the yellow primer as well as the Aqua Foundation and I don't go a day without using the Spa Water (it's divine!).

Thanks, as always, for your much appreciated support and interaction…have a beautiful week and talk soon,
