Bobbi Brown Illuminating Bronzing Powder in Aruba

Above: The Bobbi Brown Illuminating Powder comes in a round compact, thin enough to simply house the pan of product.

I recently had the chance to try the Bobbi Brown Illuminating Bronzing Powder in Aruba and was delighted to discover that this finely-milled powder is suitable for both light contouring and adding warmth to the face!

Kindly scroll on for additional details, swatches and images of it on a human face...

Above: Aruba is a light golden bronze.

Retailing for $36, this bronzer comes in a sturdy black compact with a generous mirror.  I use my retractable blush brush from Sephora to apply this along my cheekbones and the edges of my face.  This is a perfect bronzer for fair and light skin tones because it provides buildable color at a restrained pace...amongst the bronzers that I own, it is most similar in depth to Rouge Bunny Rouge At Goldcombe Bay and (which I consider a very pale bronzer) and the shimmer, although evident in the pan, is wonderfully imperceptible on the skin.

Here's what Bobbi Brown has to say about this...

This ultra-soft and smooth pressed powder is formulated with a unique and innovative blend of sheer powder and micro pearls. Powder glides on evenly and gives skin a seamless and sheer natural-looking glow.

Based on my experiences thus far, I would agree with this assessment!

Above: Aruba in direct sunlight...the gold shimmer is definitely evident, but since it is finely milled, it translates as a glow, rather than a glitter fest.

The next three images reflect Aruba on the face (over a base of Hourglass Immaculate Foundation in Golden)...I have applied it with a blush brush along my cheekbones, bridge of my nose, upper forehead and jawline to create a warm glow and barely-there contour...

Above: Swatches of Rouge Bunny Rouge At Goldcombe Bay (which is a bit more opaque, less shimmery and a touch more yellow than Aruba), and light and heavy swatches of Bobbi Brown Aruba in direct sunlight.

Bottom Line: Aruba is a beautiful, complex golden bronze that doesn't degrade to an unflattering orange with wear.  It is finely-milled, great for subtle contouring and wonderful for those with light skin tones that desire a restrained wash of warm color.  It can be purchased in the UK HERE and in the States HERE ; )

**PR sample provided for review, however, as always, all of my opinions are expressly and unequivocally my own.

    1. Hello Lipstick Boulevards!

I am wearing the Tom Ford lip lacquer for Summer 2013 in Pink Lust...thanks for asking! When juxtaposed with the damaging sun, one simply cannot have too many bronzers ; ) I am also loving the Guerlain Four Seasons in Nude 00 and Natural Blondes!
