Tom Ford Illuminating Highlighter Swatches Galore!

Above:  The Tom Ford Illuminating Highlighter features a small brush and click pen dispenser.

And so continues my swatch-fest of all things Tom Ford…in this case, the Illuminating Highlighter!

Retailing for $58, this click-pen dispensed liquid comes in eight shades that are sure to match and enhance most skin tones.  Here’s the official word from Neiman Marcus…

Tom Ford believes in balance and symmetry. The Illuminating Highlight Pen allows you to enhance, contour or diminish your features to create the appearance of symmetry. The range includes eight highly micronized shades: four tones that catch the light and bring focus to the cheekbones and eyes to create balance and symmetry and four tones that act as skin-priming concealers to diminish flaws and shadows. All eight tones work to soften and diffuse light for a smooth and undetectable finish. 3.2ml
This product is reminiscent of the YSL Touche Eclat and By Terry Veloute Highlighting Concealer in terms of function and form; I love that it comes in both obviously shimmery (the first four shades) and more  matte-oriented (the second four shades) finishes.  I currently am juggling three or four similar highlighter/illuminating products (by Rouge Bunny Rouge, Edward Bess, Givenchy and Cle de Peau) but as soon as this cache reaches a reasonable point of diminishment, I plan on procuring one in Naked Bisque!

Kindly scroll on for swatches and shade descriptions…

1. Citrine: a pale, shimmery yellow gold that is suitable for adding a gentle highlight to the skin.
2. Lavender Voile: a cool, shimmery, pale pinky beige that adds a radiant fresh glow to the skin.
3. Liquid Bronze: a yellow-based light bronze with golden shimmer.
4. Peach Blush: a warm peachy bronze with rose gold shimmer.

5. Naked Bisque: a creamy, perfect blend of pink, nude, beige and peach that brightens the skin without obvious shimmer.
6. Dusk Bisque: Naked Bisque’s slightly deeper sister…this also lacks obvious shimmer.
7. Amber Eclat: a warm, opaque golden beige without perceptible shimmer.
8. Sable Intense: a deep, warm golden peach bronze without perceptible shimmer.

Have you tried the Tom Ford Illuminating Highlighter?  If so, which shade(s)?  Thoughts?!

I hope these swatches are useful in your search for the quintessential highlighter!

Some of the colors are very pretty. I'm a little concerned with that pen tip, one wrong click would send me spiraling out of control after taking time to get my makeup perfect.

      Hi Goddesslily Seymour,

Thanks for the comment. So many of these illuminators are manufactured with this packaging style (YSL, By Terry, Givenchy, Laura Mercier etc.) that I guess I've gotten used to just clicking up the smallest amount possible! You are right…it is something to be careful with, however!!

      Take care,

Thank you so very much, Anon! Your sweet compliment made my day ; ) I wish I could answer your question about the Tom Ford brushes with more authority, but sadly, I haven't tried them. I've seen them in person many times over and they are beautiful indeed…I just tend to be fairly low maintenance with brushes (I can get by during the week with using four or five really good ones, total!), so I haven't been compelled buy one yet.

Take care and have a wonderful week ahead…xoxo,

Love these highlighters. What dou think of his blushes? Are they highly pigmented with staying power? That is my main concern as I don't have time for touchups at the salon. you have beautif!ul healthy hair by the way!

      Hi Lynn,

I love his blushes…my favorite is Frantic Pink (heavily reviewed on this blog). I've recently hit pan and will have to get a new one (along with Love/Lust) soon! The lasting power (at least in my experience) is fantastic and the natural glow that these blushes impart is phenomenal. Highly recommended!! Oh, and that you for the sweet words about my hair…my dear parents have good hair genes so I can't take any personal credit for it ; )

      xoxo,

    Rachel, Love this post…

I am loving my Amber Eclat. I actually want to purchase Dusk Bisque next! (use amber eclat as a correcting type color and dusk bisque for brightening)

These swatches were really helpful. I need to checkout the shades that contain microshimmer in them next!

      Hello dear Alex!

So glad you enjoyed the post! Amber Eclat is beautiful…I am completely tempted to pick up Naked Bisque sometime in the near future but Lavender Voile may also be calling my name ; )

Hope your week is going well…xoxo and talk soon!!
