Lise Watier Spring 2013 Collection: Pastel Power…A Review

Above (clockwise from top left): The Lise Watier Pastel Power items that I tried included the Eye Shine eyeliner in Vert Sarcelle, Nail Lacquer in Power Grey, Pastel Power Illuminating Beads, Haute Lumiere gloss in Star Light and Ombre Souffle Supreme in Ciel de Nuit.
I was introduced to the Lise Watier line when I attended IMATS in January.  Francoise SaintPierre, the stunning and very knowledgable LW specialist at the booth, was a great help…guiding me to a host of very waterproof eyeliners and some nude lipcolor options.  This Canadian cosmetics brand, started in 1968,  recently has become increasingly available in the United States.  It features beautifully-crafted, high quality makeup, skincare and fragrance that embraces a simple and sophisticated approach to personal care.  The price point of most of the products is very reasonable (similar to MAC or Urban Decay) and the seasonal limited-edition releases keep this line fresh and interesting!  I was able to try some key Lise Watier items from the Spring 2013 collection, Pastel Power, and this post reflects my experience.
Kindly scroll on for images, swatches and the full effect on my face…
Above: The Eye Shine eyeliner (which retails $19) for in Vert Sarcelle is a retractable pencil that glides on effortlessly.    I love not needing a sharpener for this!  I also have this in three other colors including Fauve and Smoky Brown!
Above: Vert Sarcelle is a slightly shimmery peacock jade green that is  colorful yet restrained…this  is a great way to integrate color into your face without looking theatric.  The formula is extremely waterproof, making migrating and fading a thing of the past!
Above: The Ombre Souffle Supreme in Ciel de Nuit is a pliable iridescent mousse eyeshadow with a feather light texture.  Retailing for $24, this reminds me of my beloved Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Shadows in terms of packaging and concept.  This is a bit “softer” and doesn’t last quite as long (what does?!), but I still get about six to eight hours of creaseless wear.  Ciel de Nuit is a lovely silver-gray-lilac hybrid that can be applied sheer or layered for more opacity.
Above: Ciel de Nuit applied all over my eye lids with Vert Sarcelle along my upper and lower lash line.    The shades blend together remarkably well!

Above:  The Lise Water Nail Lacquer in Power Grey retails for $13.
Above: Power Grey is a creamy taupe gray with slight shimmer.   I like that this feels a bit neutral, rather than overly cool or warm; this makes it wearable and flattering for most skin tones.
Above: Power Grey on my thumb nail…I achieved full opacity in just two coats.  It is smooth, rather than streaky, has a slight gloss and dries quickly.  It also remained on my nails for days without chipping!

Above: The fancifully embellished lid to the Pastel Power Illuminating Beads…it’s clever that this can serve as a mirror!

Above: The limited-edition Pastel Power Illuminating Beads retail for $29.
Above: These Illuminating Beads remind me of the Guerlain Meteorites in terms of concept and intended use.

Above: I applied the Illuminating Beads with a fluffy brush…they impart a very light silvery nude shimmer that is finely milled and glowing.
Above: The Haute Lumiere High Shine Lip Gloss, which retails for $22, features a sheer, yet color-infused, finish.

Above: Star Light is a beautiful shimmering pink mauve glaze.

Above: The Haute Lumiere gloss also has an innovative built in light that makes applying this in the dark an easy and amusing endeavor.

Above and below: Swatches of Star Light in direct sunlight (top) and shade (bottom).  This gloss is very hydrating and long lasting without being irritatingly sticky.  I also own this in Nude Addiction, which is an opaque pink beige…love.

Above: Products from the Lise Watier Power Pastel line in action…Vert Sarcelle and Ciel de Nuit on the eyes, Illuminating Beads to highlight the face and Star Light on the lips.  This genius combination yields a glowing outcome!
Bottom Line:  The Spring 2013 line from Lise Watier is arrestingly lovely.   From the subtle glow of the luminizer to the the gossamer shimmer of the eye shadow…from the jade intensity of the eyeliner to the gleaming flush of the lipgloss, these new releases work together to create a very pretty, wearable combination that I envision myself embracing through the spring and summer months.  I am so glad that I have experienced this line and look forward to the Lise Watier releases to come!

I'd love to try this line. Your reviews have always been good for my credit card company. 🙂
Do any stores carry these products or must I purchase online. I don't usually like to do that except for products I've used before.
    Cheers.

      Hi Nazelet,

Thanks for the comment! I am really happy with the items I have tried from this line thus far…I know it is sold in stores in Canada and also, if you are near LA, at Naimie's Beauty in the Valley. Otherwise, I am afraid that online is the easiest way to procure this!

Take care and enjoy the rest of the weekend…xoxo,

Lise Watier is WONDERFUL! I got some when I went to Victoria – nice soft GREAT lip pencils, beautiful bronzers and Libertine Blush. Oh – and their fragrances! I have Folies Neiges and Neiges….sigh. Very light and citrus and fresh, the other light and floral – LOVE.

You look AMAZING in that eye pencil and Ciel de Nuit! I mean that. Really. You should wear it lots! Beautiful self portrait on that first images w/ you looking to the side, hair blowing…!!

Okay, I should quit procrastinating and finish the da** curtains I should be hemming and finishing! Love you!! Susan

      Hi Susan!

How wonderful that you are familiar with this line…it was totally new for me (aside from reading about it online) until I saw it at IMATS. I have heard such good things about Neiges and am super pleased with the quality of everything I've tried so far.

THANK YOU for your ever-so-generous compliment on my pictures…I had such fun experimenting with colors I don't normally wear and am glad my images did the products justice. I hope your curtain hemming was successful…what an ambitious task…I'm impressed ; )

Love to you…have a wonderful week!!

The Pastel Power Illuminating Beads are beautiful! Gorgeous shimmer though I don't know if the silver tone would go with my skin. Definitely jonesing for the nail polish too. <3 Taupe!

      Hello Erin,

Aren't the Illuminating Beads a feast for the eyes? The shimmer is so finely milled and glowing…it is really more neutrally shimmery rather than pure silver…perhaps it will be perfect for you! The nail polish is quite unique…I, too, love anything with a hint of taupe!!

      Have a beautiful week…xoxo,
