Burberry Fondant Pink Lip Glow…It Finally Arrived!

Somehow, I recently justified adding yet another pink gloss to my already extremely robust collection!  Although the Burberry Spring 2013 collection was released in early January, Fondant Pink has been extremely elusive.  It wasn’t available on the Nordstrom website until early March and I was beyond thrilled when it arrived on my doorstep last week.  Everything about this gloss is alluring…the iconic packaging, the moisturizing formula and the creamy baby pink that looks divine by itself and equally fresh over an existing lip color.
Above: Burberry Lip Glow in Fondant Pink.  This gloss comes in a lucite-esque square tube and has a doe foot applicator.
One gorgeously sunny day last week, I conducted a photo shoot of sorts with this delightful gloss and every shot felt like a winning one.  Was it the golden sun of the four o’ clock hour?  The chic and streamlined lucite packaging? The tender flush of the gloss itself?  One may never know.  All I can say is that this belongs on a cover of a magazine.

Above: Fondant Pink #21…a perfect baby pink.
Retailing for $27, Burberry Lip Glow boasts a brilliant and hydrating formula.  Infused with light oils and spherical powders, the gloss itself is only mildly sticky (just enough to ensure its staying power) and highly restorative.  It is important to note that there is a light floral fragrance, however, that seems to dissipate after a minute or two, thankfully.  Upon application, my lips feel comfortable and full…I get about two hours of wear before needing to reapply and, due to the beauty of the gloss itself, reapplication is a joy!
Kindly scroll on for images and swatches of the gloss in various lighting situations…

Above and below: Swatches of Fondant Pink in direct sunlight..this gloss is a semi-opaque baby pink with no perceptible shimmer.  I appreciate that it is a natural pale pink, rather than an overly iridescent or candy pink.  It is this composition which makes the gloss so unique; the only pink glosses that I own that comes close in terms of color and opacity is Edward Bess Deep Shine Lip Gloss (in Endless Love and French Lace).

The next three images reflect the tender pink of Fondant Pink alone on the lips…since receiving this gloss, it has remained safely nestled in the high rent territory of my purse!

Bottom Line:  Fondant Pink is my favorite Burberry Lip Glow to date.  I go weak at the knees for creamy pale pinks and this rendition has those qualities in spades!  Highly recommended…if you can get your hands on it!

Hi B.P this is by far my most favorite pink on you since discovering your wonderful blog. They all look great on you but something about this simple, nude, baby pink stands out above the rest. totally worth the wait in my opinion.

I can see why you like pink, it rather suits you. But then, you tend to make anything look good – your lovely photos make instant "lemmings."

On a separate note, did you hear that Burberry is changing manufacturers? I wonder if this change would affect the quality/texture, etc. I have stocked up on a couple items just in case. *sigh*

Thank you so very much, She's Chic! This lip gloss was just crazy pretty from the start! I haven't heard about Burberry changing manufacturers but appreciate the heads up…will need to do some investigating! In the meanwhile, you are wise to stock up on your favorites…which one did you pick up?

Looks great. Going to Nordstrom today to check it out. BTW, is that a cleaver charm you are wearing? If so and it implies "don't mess with me or…." then I need the necklace and a pair of earrings too. GGrrrrr.

I'm so jealous that you can wear this. The color is gorgeous!!! But Burberry (and by Terry) don't agree with me. So sad. But knowing you, you'll tempt me with other brands.

      Hi dear Marcia!

This is definitely one of "our" shades, no?! How tragic that the formula doesn't agree with you ; ( Fortunately, there are many other shades of this ilk…you still need Beauty Is Life Sacara and Tom Ford Naked!!

Hope all is well with you…xoxo and talk soon,
