Chantecaille Brilliant Gloss in Lucky

Above: Lucky in all its pink, nude, non-sticky, shimmering, sheer glory.

Pink lipgloss...it's a problem for me.  Somehow I've managed to rationalize my incessant purchase of pinks by noting their most minuscule differences.  This one is more opaque...this one is baby pink rather than nude pink...this one has shimmer...this one has no shimmer...this one is not sticky in the slightest bit...this one is the ONE.

Most recently, I justified the purchase of Chantecaille's Brilliant Gloss in Lucky, a pinky-nude (big surprise) gem with light shimmering properties.

Retailing for $33, this gloss is a truly luxurious foray into lip care.  One part succulent color and one part hydrating elixir, Chantecaille Brilliant Gloss is (according to the Nordstrom website)...

A non-sticky lip gloss with vegetal-based cross-linked sugars that naturally and safely plump lips. An innovative system of elastic polymers and shiny emollient oil creates long-lasting wear. Enhanced with green tea to protect and calm lips.

This gloss has an amazing texture...it is plush and almost gel-like in nature, while not being the slightest bit sticky.  It glides on with ease and provides my lips with an inordinate amount of moisture that feels divine.  My lips are hydrated upon application and feel just as good (rather than dried out) when it wears off.  This is no minor feat for me, as one who is perpetually prone to dry lips! I like wearing this alone (for a very natural pink nude sheen) or over other lip color to add depth and a mirror-like shine.

It is like liquid light...scroll on for more details and images!

Images above and below: Swatches of Lucky in the shade and direct sunlight.  The color that it appears in the "shade" shot most accurately depicts how appears in real life.

The Brilliant Gloss ingredients are as follows:

Polybutene, Hydrogenated PolyDecene, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Silica, Hydrogenated Styrene/IsoPrene Copolymer, Propylparaben, Flavor, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Camellia Sinensis, Leaf Extract, Tetradibutyl Pentaerithrityl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate, Zea Mays (Corn) Oil, Dicalcium Phosphate

(+/- Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxides, Carmine, Red 6, Red 7 Lake, red 30 Lake, Red 28 Lake, Yellow 5 Lake, Yellow 6 Lake, Blue 1 Lake, Eosine Y).

I haven't experienced any irritation or dryness from this gloss so I am guessing that the ingredients agree with my chemistry.  In fact, every time I use this, my lips feel fuller and more hydrated!
Above: Three of my favorite light pink glosses...Dolce and Gabbana Baby, Beauty is Life Sacara and Chantecaille Lucky.

In contrast to some other pink glosses that I love, Lucky is sheerer, shinier and more "gel-like" in texture than both Sacara and Baby, it is warmer and more shimmery than Sacara and more nude than Baby.

Bottom Line:  If you were to get only one Chantecaille Brilliant Gloss, Lucky is the one.  It is the perfect blend of pink and nude, has amazing moisturizing properties and looks amazing on its own or over another lip color (my latest combination is Tom Ford Nude Vanille with Lucky...pinky nude goodness!).  For those who love the the Chantecaille brand, Lucky can be bought with the Le Must Have Gift Set HERE.
