LMdB Color Core Moisture Stain Lipstick in Thailand

Above: The LMdB Color Core Moisture Stain Lipstick retails for $32.

My love of the Le Metier de Beaute Color Core Moisture Stain Lipstick is no secret from the lush pink of Palm Springs and Miami to the deep mystery of Castelo, this formula is so special.  It is weightless yet full coverage after a couple of coats and keeps my lips hydrated all day.  It also leaves a delightful stain behind after the initial application wears off.

Above: Along with Palm Springs and Miami, Thailand is one of the few pale shades in the LMdB line.

I recently bought the shade Thailand to add to my growing collection.  It is one of the remaining few pale shades in this line that I did not yet own!  Thailand is a light mauve pink with nude undertones and a slight shimmer that somehow still offers relatively opaque coverage.

Above: Thailand is a light pink mauve with nude undertones and satin finish.

After two swipes, this lip color reaches maximum impact, simultaneously appearing glowy and creamy!  I like the fact that this shade looks natural, yet polished…definitely a MLBB color.

Scroll on for swatches and shade comparisons…

Above: Thailand is a touch darker than TF Nude Vanille, a smidgen lighter than TF Pink Dusk and a bit more shimmery than both!

Above: Thailand in indoor lighting…definitely a MLBB shade.
Above and below: Thailand in natural sunlight…it is slightly blue-based and in turn, great for enhancing the whiteness of one’s teeth!
Bottom Line: LMdB Thailand Color Core Moisture Stain Lipstick is unique to my massive lip color collection because it is an exceptional hybrid of pink, purple, mauve, nude, frost and cream.  Tonally, it comes closest to By Terry Terrybly Nude 100 but has a completely different finish (if a lip color can be both a satin stain and an opaque cream, then this is it!).  I like that it is neither too light nor too dark and is a perfect compliment to an otherwise simple color palette.  It has had a permanent home in my purse since I purchased it!

This lipcolor looks gorgeous on you. I can't never pull it off. It makes me look ashy. Such a cute name too! xx

Thanks so much, JoanneP! I have to say that it is out of my normal color range of comfort (pinks, nudes, pinky-nudes!) but it is growing on me. I could see how the shimmer/frost could translate as ashy after a few coats…I just try to refrain from adding more and put a gloss over it instead ; ) What are your favorite lip colors as of late?

You are the only person I "know" who's bought the same Tom Ford lipsticks as I did. I don't wear Nude Vanille much but I love Pink Dusk so I know that Thailand would work for me too.

I love our mutual penchant for pale colors, Marcia! I think you would love Thailand…it is not as creamy as the TF but has such a unique satin finish that it makes it worth adding to a light lip color collection. I agree that Nude Vanille is a bit less naturally wearable on its own (it is indeed pale), but I use it as a base with slightly darker glosses and it makes all the difference in opacity!

Hope your week is going well…xoxo,

    Hey Beauty Professor!!

Sorry I have been MIA as of late. I was gone pretty much the entire week of Thanksgiving, and am still catching up on stuff. I just wanted to say a quick hello and make sure you knew I had not forgotten about you (I'm sure you were losing sleep over it…ha!) I own Thailand – it is actually the first LMdB lipstick I bought. My next was Miami after your review of it! I like Thailand, but it is actually a little darker than I usually wear. But I think it is lovely. Whenever I put it on, I wonder why I don't wear it more.

I meant to follow up on your comment of the Laura Mercier lipstick you bought and returned. I can see what you mean about not getting great color payoff. I actually went back and bought another shade of the Creme Smooth lipstick in Angelic, another pale color. It is cooler than Pink Blush (is that the right name??) and I think I like it a little better. It is still not super-pigmented, but I guess that goes wih the territory of pale lip colors.

Speaking of pale lip colors, I have been eyeing The Plot Thickens by RBR. I still don't own any RBR cosmetics, which must be remedied!

Hope all is well. I am been reading every day, so even if I don't comment, I always check out the posts! I have loved your recent posts and pictures. I hope you had a great Thanksgiving!

    xoxo,
    Kate

P.S. I think I have decided that GA Eyes to Kill in #15 is my favorite eye shadow, hands down. I need to get another color. Any recommendations? I was thinking either #6 or some of the new ones that came out recently.

    Hi Kate,

How wonderful to hear from you! I completely understand how busy this time of year is…I have been swamped with work myself, so it is always a treat to be able to connect in light of the craziness. I just finished coaching at a weekend debate tournament, and am finally able to catch up on all things BP related.

Why does it not surprise me that you already own Thailand?! Our mutual taste in lipstick is astounding! I agree that it is an odd color because it can translate light or dark…I just find it to look really natural as long as I don’t over apply it to the point where the shimmer takes over. I’ve seen the LM Angelic…very pretty…the only reason I didn’t get it was because it felt similar to TF Nude Vanille and that shade NEVER leaves my purse ; ) The RBR The Plot Thickens is a wonderful nude shade…it is a bit more true nude than the peachy pink Nude Vanille and has a subtle sheen coupled with opacity that makes it really pretty alone or under a pink gloss. I know I reviewed it earlier this year if you need to see swatches again before ordering it! Also, the formula is wonderful…very moisturizing yet long lasting.

With regards to your question about the GA Eyes to Kill…#15 is still my favorite as well, hands down, but I also really like #28, which is a plummy bronze…I bet it would look amazing with your eye color. On an unrelated (yet eye makeup oriented) note, I am really loving the Dolce and Gabbana liquid liners…incredibly long lasting and pigmented…I picked up a few at Saks in San Francisco and couldn’t be more pleased!

Thanks for being such a wonderful BP supporter and friend!

    Take care and talk soon,
