Tom Ford Scarlet Rouge…A Walk on the Red Side

Tom Ford Scarlet Rouge is a quintessential red.
Every year as the weather cools down, my interest in embracing a true red lip color increases.  As one who constantly gravitates towards nudes, pinks and peaches, applying anything out of my pale comfort zone is a serious move for me!  To quell this seasonal desire, I recently procured Tom Ford lip color in Scarlet Rouge, a beautiful, bold, warm red.  Consistent amongst all lipsticks in the Tom Ford line, the formula is extremely creamy, long lasting and opaque (a veritable lip color trifecta!)…all I need is the courage to wear it when the feeling strikes.
To understand the true nature of this lip color, kindly scroll through the following images…
Housed in a brown and gold square case, Scarlet Rouge is the ultimate red.
I consider Scarlet Rouge to be a “true” red; it is neither orangish nor blue-based and achieves full opacity with a single swipe.
I love how this particular shade of red adds to the whiteness of one’s teeth…definitely a perk!
I have blotted this particular application to reflect the stain effect that comes with a bit of wear.
Above: A radiant Beauty Professor reader, Suzanne L., who shows us how well Scarlet Rouge wears on different skin tones.  Notice how it appears a touch warmer on her than on me…this shade is simply stunning on her.
In this image, I am wearing GA Maestro makeup in 6.5, Rouge Bunny Rouge blush in Delicata and GA Eyes to Kill eyeshadow in #28…I find that red best compliments a fairly simple and clean canvas.
Bottom Line: There is no denying that the Tom Ford Scarlet Rouge lip color is a stunning shade of neutral-to-warm red.  The formula is ultra creamy, lasts at least 4 hours and leaves a lovely red stain behind as it fades evenly.    Although I don’t envision myself wearing this everyday, I love knowing that I have it in my arsenal for those dramatic moments when nothing short of a red lip will do!

Thank you, KelliLash…the packaging is insane…so classic and indulgent. Tom Ford's line would be quite at home in Monaco…it must be lovely there!

Thanks for reading and keep in touch!

It looks good on you! I'm self conscious about wearing red lipstick myself, need to step out of my comfort zone.

Thank you, Lulubelle…I am glad to know that I am not the only one who feels super conspicuous with red lips…I am growing to embrace it, however ; )

Wow! This lippie looks amazing. I never tried this kind of shade but now I am interested in trying it out. But maybe not too dark but lighter, just like yours. Perfect for everyday wear.

Thanks, Emie! If you are going to try a red, this is definitely a good place to start…I love that it can be blotted down to make it less intense ; )

Take care and thanks for reading!
